  1. Got the tyres. Some reference pics.
  2. yes, I forgot about the weights. I'm friendly with the local tyre shop, so will grab a strip from them.
  3. I've ordered some Schumacher cut staggers to try onto the front rim. If the rim is too thin, then I'll get some JCracing Astute rims which ar F:21mm R:36mm.
  4. For the front wheel/tyre, didn't want to splash out too much so I took advice and ordered a set of Schumacher Cut Staggers in yellow. Hopefully they will fit on fine to the skinny front rims! Next job there is to shim the front wheels to stop wobble.
  5. Great Information guys, Many Thanks! my next question: What about the Battery plug as all Lipo seem to use a different connector. I've got no problem swapping over the connector on the ESC but which type to go for?
  6. What will running a 2s on the standard Torque Tuned do? I was thinking of using the Lipo 2S as the first stepping stone, then install a 13.5T brushless. In addition, what does the c rating (25c, 35c etc) relate too?
  7. Thanks for the post, answers the question perfectly. Racing fighter looks great on the orange wheels!
  8. juist seen this: Seems the Racing Fighter is only 14mm Up front. However, the offset if different, so the Racing Fighter rim actually has a wider track.
  9. So here is what I have learnt so far (I think): 2.2" Schumacher tyres will fit onto Tamiya rims. 4WD Front tyres will also fit onto the Racing Fighter front wheel. Looking at pics, the Neo Fighter rim looks wider than the Racing Fighter. Is just an illusion or does the Neo indeed have a wider rim?
  10. Nice to see so many on here like me! I am indeed worried that the spend on this hobby will get out of hand... I found the build very straight forward and the only mistake was with the wishbones, not looking clearly at the part number to use. Originally wanted to paint candy red and black but the local RC shop didn't have, so chose met black and silver. In regards to brushless, I've seen a 13.5t brushless sensored on AliExpress for around £25 del. Do you think I should pair with 2s or 3s lipo? Thanks for all the support and encouragement!
  11. Thanks for all the tips. Do the Schumacher tyres at 2.2" fit our tamiya rim?
  12. Thanks for the link but that's way too more work than I want to carry out. Remember, I've only just got back into RC!
  13. Just finished building the Racing Fighter and I find the front wheels lacking in grip. I considered a 12mm hex adaptor for the front but I think the majority of the wheels with 12mm hex fit will catch the steering rod assembly. Can anyone recommend a tyre or wheel upgrade? Or will a 12mm hex adaptor be ok on clearance?
  14. Hi to everyone here! After being away from RC since my late teens, the mid age crisis brings me back to the fold! Dabbled with a DJI Spark when it first came out but with the rules limiting the use of drones, the fun has gone. I saw a Racing Fighter kit cheap and decided to buy it, of course then had to spend money on Battery and Radio Set. I haven't gone for anything other than entry level and managed to keep the build to under £170 including bearings and 2 cans of paint. Here are some pics of my work, mod parts planned such as LiPo and Brushless, after getting some advice from the members here.
