Is The Sand Scorcher The Next Re-release

To be fair Paul, those complaining about the price are a very small minority. The vast majority of comments on these threads have been positive and supportive. -
Is The Sand Scorcher The Next Re-release

The thing is though, if you find out about a SS re-re from your sources a few months early like with the BC...would you announce it on here? You probably already know don't ya? -
Is The Sand Scorcher The Next Re-release
Wandy replied to macmeniac's topic in Re-Release Discussions
I'm sure all of the preliminary arrangements will have been made to get around any bodyshell issues and they have their finger hovering around the button to go ahead with a Scorcher re-release. Whether they actually press that button will depend on the reaction to the Buggy Champ. -
Is The Sand Scorcher The Next Re-release
Wandy replied to macmeniac's topic in Re-Release Discussions
Good points. I think people have doubts about the SS getting re-released simply because a Monster Beetle re-re has not happened and the Frog chassis has been back in production for nearly 4 years now. Personally I think there will be only one more re-re from the other 3 SRB buggies and it probably will be the Scorcher. I dont think the Ranger or Super Champ will come. If you look at the other re-releases they have elected to only produce 2 from each chassis type....Hornet/Hopper, Frog/Brat, Hotshot/Boomerang, Manta Ray/Top Force, Thundershot/Fire Dragon. -
Looks like you missed out, as they have put the price back up to £64. They must have had a bit of a rush of demand at £50.
-
I'm looking forward to getting one of these almost as much as the Buggy Champ...
-
You've only 'missed out' on three re-releases (assuming you are talking about the 1980's buggies), those being the Manta Ray, Top Force & Thundershot as they were quickly discontinued. The rest remain in production at this moment in time. However those three are still out there on ebay-land if you really want them, although in the case of the Top Force you will have to pay at least double the price of what the re-release cost when it was in production, as the value of that kit escalated almost immediately after it was discontinued. Makes you wonder why Tamiya deleted it so quickly if there was still demand.

58441 Rough Rider "Buggy Champ" Re-release
Wandy replied to blackdogbro's topic in Re-Release Discussions
I worked it out the other day. If your having it shipped to the UK it will cost you ~£190 all in, providing you don't get hit with import duty. -
What Body Shell You Would Like To See Produce By Tamiya?
Wandy replied to Victorious Secret's topic in General discussions
VW Golf GTi Mk2 & Corrado VR6. -
Can you direct me to that thread please?

Surely the question your really meaning to be asking is this : - Following the confirmed Rough Rider re-release and quite possible Sand Scorcher re-release what will become the new Holy Grail? For me it would have to be the Bruiser.

This is where I ordered mine from on the Time Tunnel website. http://goldstarstockists.net/live/catalog/.../products_id/38

Cheers. There is actually a NIB one for sale on ebay at the moment for £96 plus postage. Ouch.
-
Hmm, that's interesting. I always fancied one of those original Pajeros. Are the bodyshells expensive/hard to find?
-
Cheers guys. Is it possible to fit smaller wheels and tyres to them? I was thinking along the lines of Grasshopper rears with the Padlatraks fitted to them.
-
I see Time Tunnel are almost giving them away for £50 and Tamiya USA are showing them as out of stock...are they about to disappear once again? If so it will have had a good run of 4 years. Anyway at that Time Tunnel price it would have been rude not to get one, although they have never really got my blood pumping on looks alone. Are they any fun on the beach??...cos that's where this one will live.

Born in the same year as me. So sad. RIP.

Well assuming that this is not another licencing issue, then Tamiya sure make some strange decisions sometimes. -
58441 Rough Rider "Buggy Champ" Re-release

Alas, I agree with you. It's weird how the rears are still carrying the SB logo though. Could they really have *forgotten* to embed the SB lettering onto the new mould? -
Difference Between Vintage And Reproduced Kits
Wandy replied to Mr Cossie's topic in Re-Release Discussions
As far as future kits goes I think things can be summed up by this : - If it was a sales flop the first time around then it is NOT in contention for a re-release. I dont know anything about the Egress as I had left the hobby by the time it came out, but based on my statement above I think you can safely rule out sales flops like the Supershot, Bigwig & Avante. -
58441 Rough Rider "Buggy Champ" Re-release
Wandy replied to blackdogbro's topic in Re-Release Discussions
How fantastic does that box art look? Really looking forward to seeing it in the flesh. I really, really hope the Scorcher gets released later this year now. The joy of unwrapping a NIB SS would make this Xmas probably my most anticipated since 1985 when I got my Hotshot. Sad, but probably true. -

58441 Rough Rider "Buggy Champ" Re-release
Wandy replied to blackdogbro's topic in Re-Release Discussions
I've got my fingers (and toes) crossed that those tyres at the toy fair were just pre-production items and the SB Juniors will be provided with the full release kit.
