Might be my memory tricking me then. I always seem to remember the Supershot being significantly more expensive in my local Beatties shop.
-
Original Bigwig didn't come with full ballraces. Think the kit was about £30 cheaper than a Supershot back in the day.
-
April 1985 when the Hotshot arrived. The kit was roughly twice the price of the likes of the Hornet and Frog so, yeah, it was pricey. It was mindboggling how expensive ballraces were back then. And Supershot kits were on another level in terms of unaffordability. That rear shock system on the Hotshot remains, to this day, a work of art though.

The Boomerang might be better but the Hotshot is infinitely cooler.

How Likely Is A Porsche 959 Re-release?
Wandy replied to Colt Seavers's topic in Re-Release Discussions
It'd probably fair to say now that they will never re-release the 959 as a kit. The best that we can hope for is for them to re-release the 58064 Celica and then offer the 959 bodyset - minus decals - as a hop-up part. -
Superb photos that highlight just how much of an amazing re-release this was. Wish they would hurry up and bring back the Blazer & Hilux too.
-
Without a doubt. As you say, they should have brought back the Terra Conqueror instead. Now THAT is a great looking body on this chassis.
-
Underwhelmed. It is, without a doubt, the most hideously ugly thing that they have ever created.

The way they turned Luke into a coward & recluse who turned his back on his family, friends, Jedi Order and the fight against the evil in the galaxy was the very worst thing about the movie. There is simply not a chance that the Luke Skywalker at the end of Return Of The Jedi would have turned into the character we see now, and especially not simply because he saw darkness in his nephew and had a fleeting moment of considering killing him. In fact he simply would not have had those thoughts at all in the way that is portrayed here. And to then claim he has cemented a hero status simply by turning up as a holgram at the end, only to die from the effort in doing it, was just laughable. And even if Luke had somehow turned into this character, it is the job of the movie to show the audience how this happened, through proper character and story development, instead of just throwing a massive curveball that says "Oh yeah, that guy? He's now the opposite of how he used to be" That is one of the many problems with the film though. Stuff just happens and it doesnt explain how or why that could be. The whole story is impossibly contrived and hollow. Oh yeah...and it rips off key scenes & dialogue from Empire Strikes Back & Return Of The Jedi. Like, literally, almost word for word in some instances.

It gets a rock solid 10/90 against with me....with the 10% for the undeniably spectacular visuals. Everything else about it is utter trash IMO. I saw it twice, just to make sure that I hadn't got it wrong the 1st time. Nope, I loathed it as much the second time. It's easy to see why the average viewer and casual Star Wars fan could have enjoyed it though. Switch your brain off, question nothing and forget that the original trilogy ever happened and it's a visually pleasing 2.5 hours of mindless, forgettable entertainment with some impressive set pieces. As a part of the Star Wars Skywalker/Jedi story though it's an abomination of a movie that deliberately and needlessly burns down to the ground everything that was painstakingly established from 1977 to 1983, and also throws in the bin everything that happens in it's predecessor The Force Awakens. I really hope Disney suffer a significant backlash from this, with poor DVD/Blu Ray sales of the film together with people boycotting Episode IX. And no way should Johnson get to make his own trilogy. I'm curious to know what percentage of the total audience the haters like me represent though, as there can be no doubt that the film has been overwhelmingly savaged by audiences on every online movie review site.

I'm trying to forget that I ever saw The Last Jedi.

Lancia 037 Rally Body - On TA02-S chassis?
Wandy replied to TWINSET's topic in Re-Release Discussions
This is the official photo of the body on the TA02S. Is it me or does the body sit higher than it does on the TA03RS? -
Can you post the links for this info?

I also think it will be obvious stuff like another production run of the Thundershot, plus the orginal Mudblaster and Super Hornet. Might also see the Top Force Evo announced late in the year for an early 2019 release.

Well after watching TLJ, to say I was unimpressed would be the understatement of the year. No word of a lie, the film is absolutely wretched. I mean embarrasingly, laughably bad. Disney have not only wrecked this trilogy, they may well have just killed off Star Wars altogether. Clearly the 1st two movies were a fluke that only worked due to the nostalgia that holds them together. If this is the way that all future Star Wars movies will go then count me out. Not only does this film not feel like a Star Wars movie, it actually has little resemblence to it's predecessor The Force Awakens. All of the mystery & intriguing questions generated by that film are either answered shambolicaly or not at all. Honestly, this movie is a Star Wars spoof....a parody of the real thing. I've already sold the tickets I had for a second viewing....

I'm off to see it tonight. I've long had a feeling that this one would split the fanbase and it seems that this is the case because, even though the critics have been showering it with praise, on discussion forums it is being hammered by a helluva lot of people. But there are still plenty who have agreed with the critics too. I just hope I'm in the latter camp.

I think a re-re-re of the Thundershot & Manta Ray is highly likely over the coming months.
-
Actually the two main events that have harvested the most significant releases over the last 10 years or so have been the Shizuoka Fair in May and the Tamiya Fair in November. For instance, just about every re-release has been presented at these two fairs. The only significant re-re I can think of that has been announced for Nuremberg is the Bruiser re-release.
-
Nuremberg? Have you forgotten that we have the Tamiya Fair this month? Don't have to wait until February for that Ranger re-release. https://www.tamiya.com/english/tamiyafair/index17.htm

Lancia 037 Rally Body - On TA02-S chassis?
Wandy replied to TWINSET's topic in Re-Release Discussions
If this release comes with the same box & artwork as the 58278 kit shown below then I am in. However if it just comes in the usual miniature box with a sticker slapped on it then count me out. Unfortunately I think it will be the latter. -
Mine is on it's way from Stella.
-
Got my tickets booked too. Not even gonna try to fathom out what is going to happen in the story. The trailer is clearly just pure misdirection.
-
Who is looking forward to the next installment then?
-
Great to see so many alternative colour cages being offered. What alternative colours did the original come with?
