  1. i think its more in the 70USD which I dont want to spend... I need to put a limit somewhere... also I have noticed the powerHD come with HV support (not sure I care about) but is powerHD legit? i dont have experience with it or know too much. I see it has a wide range and the r12 is a somewhat relatively cheap servo in their range
  2. hi all it seems to me like within the servo price ranges there are the cheap ones like spt, jx, other non branded which are in the 20+- USD range. above that, for the most part thee is the middle range with a 90+- USD where you can get very reputable servos like some entry level savox and above that for the premium I dont really know whats going on there. TBH, I can afford the low range only but I have recently found a low-mid category to exist where you can find servos like the powerHD r12. compared to the SPT everyone loves you can see a big difference in speed with a naked eye. are there other great servos in the 50USD range I should be aware of? any thoughts? thanks
  3. i will proably not have any money left for a radio a ESC a motor or any other electronics
  4. The Genova and mid are still easy to find. I actually ordered the mid but it didn't arrive yet The avante 2011 I think and especially the xls are harder to come by unless you are willing to get a call from the bank ..
  5. 4 cars from 4 manufacturers: - Tamiya: avante 2011 (58849) - Kyosho: Optima Mid (30622) - Sumacher: Cat XLS (SCHK172) - G-Force: Genova (GK001 ) that would be awsome...
  6. as a newbie, the thing out of my purchases I would change is buy a TX with model memory. there are plenty around the 50-70USD mark. i also need to keep the RX cost to a minimum (40EU is not ok with me). so it all depends on the needs of the buyer. i will probably not race and I will hardly drive my cars - I just like to build. but I will take them from time to time for a spin. I started with 1 car, I have another on the way and already thinking of my next one
  7. other then the looks I have seen some build vids that put me off... like the need to solder components (not wires) but maybe its like that in all their models?
  8. i am up to the challange - now I need to wait for a re re re XLS - I dont think I care too much about the procat
  9. adding to what others already answered. take your time to learn a little - it will benefit you... i am a newbe myself and have been one for the past 10 months. learning things every day. i am not familiar with your specific kit so you should double check compatability with what I suggest - esc: the "standard" is uauslly a hobby wing 1060. https://www.hobbywingdirect.com/products/quicrun-10-esc-2-3s-brushed - batteries and charger: I suggest you start with NiMH unless you want to "work" for your battery... many if not most poeple would proably suggest LIPO batteries, but TBH, if you just need something to run and forget about (which LIPO isnt), you can take a look at this NiMH combo: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09QRQPSF8?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details -on the Tx/Rx front: if you plan to have only one car you can go with some 30usd items like the dumboRc X6, but if you think that in the near future you will purchase another kit then you should start with a Rx with model memory (each of your cars will have different trims, epas etc that you need to store), there are plenty 60USD range that will provide all you need. again, I suggest you take the time to learn. plenty of data in tamiyaclub and plenty of knowledgable people that are happy to help... good luck
  10. hi all lately i have seen many vids on the shumacher vintage cars, mainly pro cat and some xls. i mostly see the anger and frustration on the people that build. r these cars really that frustrating? seems like the kit requires: special tools, a lot of sanding of parts that should be complete, a lot of adjustments, etc for a novice coming from tamiya (and kyosho soon) would shumacher it be a complete shocker?
  11. nice one with plenty of things. many time people are hunting plastic parts for their vintage RCs. as long as yo are not a purist, why not 3D print what you need? seems like this should be very big for rare parts. instead of hunting for a year you can 3D print (as long as someone took the time and effort to model of course)
  12. This looks like the printing service. Was wondering is there is a Catalog of scanned parts pr something. I don't need anything but definitely curious
  13. Hi all Just had a talk with a friend with a different hobby but apparently he 3D prints many parts he needs... So I was wondering, is there a well known parts Catalog for 3D printing in the RC car hobby? Thanks
  14. the funny thing is that the new Dumbo is listed with a plastic variant that is the same one you reference with its own branding with the same price (half of the "metal" variant. you can see it in the below link. note that different picture on the plastic variant,,, https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006011377702.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.0.0.9df7MrYAMrYATc&gps-id=pcDetailTopMoreOtherSeller&scm=1007.40050.362094.0&scm_id=1007.40050.362094.0&scm-url=1007.40050.362094.0&pvid=06f8d475-aea1-4f47-af67-ea2dd0d26741&_t=gps-id:pcDetailTopMoreOtherSeller,scm-url:1007.40050.362094.0,pvid:06f8d475-aea1-4f47-af67-ea2dd0d26741,tpp_buckets:668%232846%238107%231934&pdp_npi=4%40dis!USD!32.79!32.79!!!233.19!!%402103890117034155333167854e87f2!12000036752297939!rec!IL!1752871570!
  15. thnaks, so something like this: https://www.amazon.com/2Pairs-Mirthobby-Connector-Adapter-Helicopter/dp/B07ZKKRKGF should help right? any reason i should make the effort for a 1/10 scale optima mid? i know it doesnt have a lot of space for electronics...
  16. Hi all in a you tube vid I have seen a reference to the plugs of the new dumboRC recievers being ESC Connector: ZH1.5MM (see below in vid) can a standard HW1060 connect to this reciever? I didnt know there are connector differences in this area. thanks!
  17. Hi all bumping this for the folliwing reason: when I started my jurney earlier this year I purchased a dumboRC transmitter due to its reviews and price. and it works great for me. However, I am now at the stage where my second car is on the way and I assume there will be more to come in 2024 and the X6 dumboRC has no memory, so essentually it can control 1 car and will not persist trim, epa and other settings per model. so now I assume I am in the hunt for a budget RC with at least 10 model memory... I have noticed that now dumboRC has the new DDF-350 in AE at around 60-80 USD but at this price it will go head to head with some radiolink, flysky etc. I am not sure what direction to go. I do have 2 dumbo recievers if that makes a difference. the 10channel thing I do not believe i need. I dont think I need anything above 4ch (or i dont understand why i need more) so thats not a part of my criteria any comments are welcomed thanks for the help!
  18. aliexpress has all the bearings you need if you have the time to wait and you feel like digging into the bearing messearments. here is an example I bought for my TT02B https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004719200908.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.91.5c98180261J3OY but again, you can find any size you need
  19. i dont think you can top this answer I bumped into this archive looking for the answer on google probably was posted already but worth the look: https://archive.org/details/radiocontrolcaraction
  20. following up: i have talked to a company that enables shipping by boats... its a few months of sailing but they claim I can send the cans like that. not sure if they know what they talk about so I will have to dig a little deeper but I have sent a link to them and they confirmed they can (its a local company where I live with a warehouse on the USA - so you ship to the USA warehouse and from there it goes by boat). I assume other countries with problem such as mone have a local service that is similar... (but you will have to wait a long time for the shipment)
  21. hi all from the era I used to drive a fox and then a thundershot i remember mostly tamiya mostly, less kyosho and very very little schumacher (the first cat) where there any other makers back in the day that were "worth" taking notice of? I have no recollection of losi or team assiciated etc... 10x
  22. what a jem of a site. thanks for the reference
  23. Hi all; I did not check this in depth but I have noticed that at least for some items there is a significant price drop over time. lets take the optima mid. when the latest re re launched it was about 430Euro on preorder and for some time after launch. a few months later the price was dropped by 60Euro to 370Euro. (you can use the wayback time machine for comparissons) I was wondering if this is always the case. or is this an inventory thing. do you have a strategy when hunting for a car model? 10x
  24. Hi all I recently built a tto2b on my wooden floor and it wasn't a good experience. Can you guys share photos of your work environment or state things that you believe are a must when building RC cars and should be in a hand reach? I am talking even on small boxes to keep the kit parts organized... Any tips are valid
  25. I believe I saw the egress og is coming shortly (I hope I am not mistaken) so maybe the avante will follow suit
