Congrats! I can't wait to see all the boxes together

Who asked for this?!? My guess is $699 Ha, no need to guess - it's only $380! Edit to add: I'm gonna file this next to the Losi sprint car pre-order, in "Things I know I don't have a proper place to run" category, but give the nod to this 6X6 if I had to pick one and bang for the buck.

Leave it as you've sanded it and just clear over it - like a hotrod with patina. Next time you beat it up, just sand and more clear. Repeat until there's nothing left LOL

I had some 54737 Matte Plated Silver Dish Wheels handy to test. They passed with just the tiniest hint of rubbing, so the thinnest wheel shim should be perfect. Then I tried a set of BBX wheels/tires. Turns out, there's a difference in ~1/16" offset, so they were rubbing (you can see where in the pic): So I added 1/16" in wheel shims with a serrated nut and boom: Please note: I had to open the front wheel holes a tiny amount - like just a few spins of my reamer on each side.

Good news for those that want an adult driver figure! The kid kinda irks me, and I already tried swapping heads but it looked dumb. So today it dawned on me - what about the WR-02 Comical torso figure? A bit of trimming along the arm sides and around the back lets it drop down where it needs to sit. I also trimmed the WR-02 steering wheel until it sat down nice. And so here it is:

And it looks so much better! I found the force needed to pinch them together was much more than the spring tension, so meh. I'm not racing these things. Edit to add: And like I mentioned before, one could throw on a turnbuckle in no time, if the need arose.

It depends on the kits and their availability, but generally when the mood strikes - but i still look to use coupon codes and credits - I'm not an animal

The front white piece needs to be installed, but all else and the cage can be left off. I did as much of both as possible so that I can run in two different modes, relatively quickly.

See? I'm not the only one trying to tack on another grand or so to his budget spending
-
A collection to be very proud of! Will you build and display them all?
-
Oh geez, yeah that's probably it
-
This is such a cool mission, but aren't there 10 unique models on the Group C chassis? Are there a couple you don't care for, or did you already have them when you started this mission?
-
Thank you sir! I can't believe no one has blasted me yet, for cutting the front upper brace
-
I'm planning to paint the lowest dip of the mounting tab portion black, to make it somewhat disappear.
-
^ That's incredible that you have that pic!!!

I have a Mad Bull NIB and a Mad Fighter built. I trimmed the SV body with hints of Bear Hawk, but wanted a newer look to go with the next gen, so to speak. I didn't want to drop an old body on a new kit, otherwise I'd have just sprung for a legit Bear Hawk (which I was avoiding).
-
It's about time for a Fighter Bear Hawk update! I managed to get most of the cage and cowls installed, so it's easier to swap different modes. I have another plan for this one, so I wanted to see how much can be left in place when running the SV body. It's not the prettiest thing, but someone had to fall on the sword. I'll keep at it and it will likely get better after paint and stickers.

Tamiya Sport Tuned Silver Can Question...
GToddC5 replied to RC_Hobbyist's topic in General discussions
The NIB 540-J that I tested did better than the 14,500 claimed: 16,000 @ 7.2V / 1.16A * My motor testing includes a short run-in that the machine also does, as well as a couple drops of Liberty oil on the bearings/bushings. Edit to add: I can do all the stock 540s I have if people care, as I think I have just about all the different ones, dating back to the very early 540s with the thin white endbell and gold hue can. -
Tamiya Sport Tuned Silver Can Question...
GToddC5 replied to RC_Hobbyist's topic in General discussions
I've been using quite a few of the 53983 Lightly Tuned motors as a posh silver can (admittedly because of the blue end bell for color themed builds) and it's very punchy at it's rated 565 @ 16,300 I have yet to spin it up on the 'ol Trinity Horsepower Machine, so I'll have to add that to my next test batch of motors. Ultimately I'll test them all. -
