  1. Turns out the Etronix 6kg waterproof servo is also burnt out at the same time as the TBLE-04S ESC. I've fitted the Etronix ET0103 and Flysky receiver, I just stole another servo from my Himoto Nitro buggy to get it going again ready for the fine weather coming
  2. Opps, must read complete thread first in future 🀣
  3. Fit the silver can 540 from the hornet to the grasshopper, that will be fast enough for the hopper, I put in a Sport Tuned and it's too fast for street use with the stock tyres lol I built both last year, the Hornet will stay original for now but suspension upgrades and moving onto waterproofing the electrics on the hopper are on going this year. Try keep them away from water etc as the TBLE-04S ESC definitely is not waterproof, my hopper esc went up in smoke a few nights ago 🀣🀣🀣🀣
  4. I've went for this ESC, treated myself to a Flysky GT2 radio and receiver also. I will be starting on checking the hornet this weekend which has a TBLE-04S fitted, it's not been used much so hopefully it's OK for now
  5. For the features and the price I'll definitely be giving that a go. I'm quite hard on the car, I've fitted a Etronix 6kg digital servo last year and that's been fine. Thanks again Twinfan πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘
  6. Cheers mateπŸ‘πŸΏ I'll be looking around tonight, was going to get hornet tyres and Cva minis this month.. Need a new radio and esc now lol
  7. Is it waterproof? I use the grasshopper mainly on beaches. I've got the same TBLE-04S fitted to the Hornet too so that will be replaced if it dies also lol
  8. Yep, the ESC is goosed... Big puff of smoke and pulled the battery right off it πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ recommendations for a new ESC that is waterproof, can handle a Sport Tune 540 on NI-MH 😜
  9. I'll try setting the high low points etc tomorrow, just popped into my head as I try and sleep πŸ™„πŸ˜›
  10. Sooo, I've took my Grasshopper out of winter hibernation... Having issues with the esc now, πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I got a new receiver for my radio then realised that bang good have sent the wrong receiver (I'm using the Chinese Hotrc, I'm going to change it for a Flysky ASAP because it's crud) so I rebinded my Himoto radio from my nitro buggy, ran fine for a few minutes then esc started flashing red, lost steering and reverse. I recharged the battery and tried again, same out come, checked it was set to battery lo mode (3300mah overlander battery BTW) and it's still doing the same thing. Flashing red has 3 meanings as far as I understand, normal flash is for low battery, slow and fast flashing is for esc overload... Motor is wired as per the ESC instructions. I've got another battery I will try tomorrow which I will update you guys on the results, typical πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  11. Also if you look at the instructions there is a guide on what each light indicates etc Red light is saying low battery cut off, so I believe that you need to adjust it for using NI-MH or Li-Ion to low cut off
  12. OK if you look at the attached, this is the section you need to read and actions to perform. Just make sure all the wires and plugs are in the motor and esc the correct way.
  13. Yeah follow the instructions and make sure you have channel 1 for steering and channel 2 for drive πŸ‘Œ
  14. I'm using this setup on my Grasshopper with absolutely no issues whatsoever, standby for some decent speed. I would recommend not using it on the tarmac or enclosed area, I powerslided into a wooden flower box at high speed and split the shell on one side, grasshopper and hornet are now dedicated beach and open area machines 🀣😜
  15. DustyRC on YouTube has a good suspension setup, all tamiya parts pretty much. Cva minis and grasshopper 2 front A arms up front, looks good on his videos of it running
  16. I had an order in for CVA shocks etc for my Grasshopper, she was waiting for tamiya to send them for roughly 6 months. She did me very good deals in the past and highly recommended her, so I opted to wait it out and have patience. I received a refund with no email correspondence to notify me what was going on so I thought she might have been told that the parts are unavailable etc Sad to here the news that they are closing the doors in the foreseeable future. I would be patient with Joanne as she will process your order or refund when she gets to it. All the best to them in the future
  17. Son's Hornet kit and waterproof servo arrived today from @Fusion-Hobbies Grasshopper servo failed earlier this week so time to upgrade πŸ˜‚ CVA shocks and associated parts currently on backorder but I've got a Hornet to build and paint to keep me busy
  18. I went for the Hornet, should hopefully arrive sometime this week from Fusion Hobbies. Excellent service from Joanne and the team again, delighted and looking forward to building it. Ordered an 3D printed axle brace also
  19. Got my sport tune motor on Friday and have ordered the now correct pinion gear. I've ordered GH2 front arms from ebay and Cva mini dampers 50746, brackets, brass tubes etc from fusion hobbies last night to sort out the bouncy front end. I should have waited as my son now wants a tamiya also so trying to decide between a Rising Fighter, Neo Fighter, hornet or Grasshopper 2 πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜‚
  20. Morning,Β

I've been trying to contact you today,Β

I've sent an email just now to explain the issue, hope you manage to resolve it πŸ‘Œ

  21. Oops again then πŸ˜‚ πŸ€·πŸΏβ€β™‚οΈ it will be fine, if it strips the gears I'll just upgrade the whole lot. Didn't want a steel one because I take it to the beach quite a lot and didn't want to deal with it rusting after every run. I'll look for a coated one next time
  22. Turns out Tamiya Sp-355 18/19t pinion set doesn't work with a grasshopper /sport tune 😭😭😭 I just bought a set thinking it was what I needed without looking into properly πŸ€·πŸΏβ€β™‚οΈ
  23. Thanks guys, I've just completed a purchase of a 540 sport tune and 18/19t pinion set from fusion hobbies Hopefully I'll get massive rooster tails at the beach and I'll keep the 380 silver can as a backup motor. Again thank you for the advice πŸ‘Œ
  24. Thanks, have you got a link to the blog?
  25. That's what I meant πŸ˜‚ just in a less technical meaning πŸ˜‚
