Hello guys. I have a question about pinion gears. Today I changed my clodbuster pinion from stock Aluminium to Steel. The pitch and teeth are the same but I noticed the steel one has smaller face width (slightly though). Will this be an issue? many thanks.

It's usually the anti rotation bracket itself that breaks, or the chassis. Those blue (or red/etc..) bits are pretty flexible, and I've never seen one break.

I run the aluminum anti-rotation brackets on my Clod Retro Racers and have not had any issues in a few years of running them hard. Most common breakages on my trucks have been ladder bars (shock mounts snap off), axle tubes, and knuckles. Have never had an issue with the nylon part the anti-rotation bracket screws into or the gear case itself.
Thanks guys for the explanation:)

Hello guys. Recently I built a new Clod and did some light mods and still keep the stock chassis and suspension. I have replaced the plastic anti rotation bar with the aluminium one. But one day I was wondering, when the truck is doing wheelie, the weight of the whole front part of truck is actually applied (way more as F = ma) at the following position:
It is literally a tap screw into plastic... However I have not seen any damage related to this on internet. Have you ever damged this part, e.g., stripped screw hole, broken lower link bar, etc.? Any good way to enhance it (without changing to metal chassis...)?
Many thanks.
