  1. I think they were a pretty popular buggy back in the day, but I was never really that keen on the Fox though when they were originally going around.....then I restored one. They look great when in their full glory, though some parts can be tough to find. I say have a crack, you won't be disappointed once you are finished, except if you were expecting to turn a profit...... Here's mine: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...d=36748&id=4565 Cheers, Drew.

I also have a few spares for it and a NIB for the day after I totally trash it! It's got a 13T motor in it too so it really flies. Cheers, Drew.

Phrases like "piping up" and "sticking your nose in" don't suggest calmness to me but aggression. I never stuck my nose into your business.....you posted your business here, and if you only gave the people here half the facts, who's problem is that....not mine thats for sure. If you don't want someone to comment on part facts, don't post part facts. Post the whole story. There is no point getting annoyed with me when I make comment if I only have half the facts to go on (you only gave us half of them in the post). Also, if you don't want people to comment about something, don't post. Last time I checked it was a free world (sort of anyway) and I am allowed to pass comment on anything I see fit...within reason (though I admit this has got completely off topic and is my last post on the subject). From the beginning, my intention was not to "stick my nose into your business" or to annoy you (though that seems to be easilly done), but to back up a couple of Terrys remarks, suggest you calm down a little and that by typing in capitals you are actually being agressive or 'shouting'. Instead I copped a bake.....thanks. That is all.
  5. quote: Originally posted by Backlash All I can say is, those of you that able to buy these kits in your own country, Please think yourselves lucky. Here in Australia, Tamiya has such a great hold on the RC market, and the importer does a poor job of supporting it. I cannot go into my LHS and buy a Wild Willy 2, couldnt get a Clod buster for near 10 years until the super clod, let alone the re-release Hornet Grasshopper or Lunchbox. The sad thing is that most of these kits are still available overseas. The real kick in the teeth is when everyone says "support your Local Hobby shop". A nice little sticker on the box something to the effect of "this is a limited release item, No spares available". Cures the spares situation. BTW, dont try to email the Australian Tamiya Importer, they dont have a Website. If I want to ask a question, I have to email Tamiya direct or Tamiya America. id="quote">id="quote"> Mate, I found A WW2 in a hobby shop in Melbourne.....'Would have cost me nearly 350 bucks, just for the kit. No radio..... The distributor in Australia takes the mickey with their pricing too. Cheers, Drew.
  6. 'Reckon the suspension might need some damping though! LOL
  7. Sorry Al, That last post wasn't directed at you...I just read it again, and indeed there is a line that appears to be aimed at you. Apologies, I'l go edit it. I noticed he was a bit quick to be rude to Redfrits in another forum that I read before I first posted here and it fired me up. Thats why I suggested he needed to chill...... Cheers, Drew.
  8. quote:Originally posted by Big AlI think we all need to just let this whole thing go! It's getting a bit out of hand and tempers are starting to flare. Topforcein is entitled to his opinion, just as everyone else is too. But when things start getting personal, it's time to let it go. It's just a hobby and it's supposed to be fun! id="quote">id="quote">Indeed he is entitled to his opinion as Terry is to his and I to mine. I wasn't getting personal, just suggesting Topforcein should calm down a bit and instead I cop a gob-full. If Topforcein doesn't like a difference of opinion then he shouldn't post on the topic. Maybe if he really wanted a low-paying job at Tamiya as a phone jockey he should ring them up and go and get one instead of complaining about the people who work there, who are just doing their job and shouldn't have to cop this type of rubbish in the course of doing it: "okay i just phoned up the hobby company and asked the sales if they had any info on theses 2 models and all i got was i have never herd of them 2 models. i said to her how can you work for tamiya and never herd of the manta ray and top-force. i just can not beleive that. then she got stroppy with me and put the phone down." Quite frankly I think she did very well just to hang up on him without resorting to the same level or ridicule. And BTW I am very happy about living in Australia, with the irritation of not being able to get the re-release kits localy being very minor. Certainly nothing worth ringing the distributor up to be a smart-*** about. I've got better things to do. Wasting time on this site for one, LOL. So there are some facts!
  9. Mr Forcein......I think you need to chill a bit. Terry has some good points, particularly in reference to the people working at the Tamiya agency. These people are employees, and could just as well be working for a company selling shoes. It is a job that pays the bills, and they are probably not paid enough to give a toss. As Terry suggested, come live in Australia, where none of the re-re's make it to the shops locally. Though there are many other GOOD reasons for living here. And please, DON'T TYPE IN CAPITALS, YOU WOULDN'T WANT ANYONE TO THINK YOU WERE RUDE........WOULD YOU.
  10. Oh-Maaaan, I just spent a small fortune restoring a Frog. Oh well I think I'll buy a re-release anyway.
  11. I actually thought a scooby was something you rolled up with a green weedy substance and paper!!! [8)] Oh dear....Is that sirens I hear!! Cheers, Drew. BTW, down here in Oz (that is Australia, not the land of...I know what you're thinking), they are known as Rex (WRX).
  12. G'day all, Ordered a Frog body from him a few weeks ago and it arrived within a week and a half. That's also after he sent me an email to say he was oversold. Not too bad I think, given he shipped uK to Australia. A good news story. Cheers, Drew.
  13. I know, and where are you going to find a top condition original body set without the decals, yet worthy of accepting the new ones I have? That is why I have decided to use them, because I was never going to find a new body without the decal sheet. Besides, the Kamtech repro one I have is a good likeness, I really don't think most people would be able to tell the difference......
  14. Thanks for the advice James, Yeah, I noticed that too on the instructions that came with the decal sheet. Trouble is, I made those cutouts a fraction too big I think. I'll have a look once I have painted the shell though. Great looking Frog. Is that an original body or a replica? I'm going for a minor variation on the box art using the fluoro pink rather than the standard pink spray. If it turns out anything like my project Fox (I'm yet to post any photos of that, because the daylight when I get home of an evening is **** for taking pictures), I'll be very pleased. Cheers, Drew.
  15. G'day all, I'm getting to the end of my Project Frog now and looking at what to do about the body and decals. I bought a replica bodyshell and wing from Kamtech the other day (very good too). When I followed the moulded cut lines for the front suspension though, it doesn't leave me enough room for the 'Frog Racing Team' decals down the side. My dillema: I have a set of original decals I was going to use, should I cut down the 'Frog Racing Team' to, say, Frog Racing, or Team Frog and stick them down the side? Or, should I get another shell and reduce the cut out size to allow for the decals? I'm just not sure I can wait for a new shell to be shipped to Australia from the uK. But I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to detail. Aaaagggghhhh![?] Maybe I should have started with 'Dear Abby' LOL. Cheers for the assistance folks......... Drew.
  16. Thanks for the reply. Yes, thats the part I need. Do you want anything for it? How much to post to Australia? Cheers mate, Drew.
  17. G'day all, Does anyone have the black plastic part from the 'B' tree that attaches the rear wing to the body? New would be great, but good condition used would be fine too. Thanks for looking.... Drew.
  18. Thanks mate. YGM
  19. This question has probably been asked before...When I recently updated some photos in my showroom, they didn't show up on the home page in the showroom update section. Are they supposed to? Is there a way to make it happen? I've just added some brand new stuff to one of my models and hoped it would show up on the home page... Boo-Hoo [] Cheers, Drew
  20. quote:Originally posted by CudajasOh Man, I was just about to post this same question. I just disassembled my fox for restoration and found more than a few peices that need to be replaced. I am also looking for the R and D trees, some parts from the A tree and the 3 screw bags. id="quote">id="quote">Mate, there are some R parts on Ebay at the moment and I think I might have a spare D tree too. Email me if you still need something.
  21. Hi Y'all, Does anyone have a Hotshot bodyset with decals they are prepared to sell? I am on the lookout for one. My preferance is for a NIB one. Many thanks, Drew.
  22. Never had a problem with Tamiya RC. Good price, fast shipping. Not the best communicator but a good seller in my past experience, and I've bought a bit of stuff from his store over time....your not being a bit picky? I generally build my NIB kits.
  23. quote: Originally posted by netsmithUK I did email the media too - news papers, television etc, but so far no one has picked up on it. 24. Webber was quoted in the press here as saying he thought they (Williams) let a podium possie get away with a tardy final pit-stop.
