Thanks mate, Ran the Fox again last night and the problem seems to be the gears crunching in reverse.

Question about Acto-Power motor
Drewboyaus replied to Drewboyaus's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Thanks, that looks like worthwhile reading. As evidence of my acto power problem, I ran the Dynastorm again last night and compared it with my Fox with a very old technigold. By comarison the Fox absolutely flew... I'm wondering whether I just chuck out the Acto-power motor. I'm running an older battery pack, would this make a difference do you think? Cheers, Drew. -
Question about Acto-Power motor
Drewboyaus replied to Drewboyaus's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Wow thanks Raemin, I have got some real learning to do. Does anyone know of a good reference for this type of motor tuning stuff, online or not? I have very little idea of what I am looking at when I pull the motor apart. Cheers,] Drew -
I'm about to find out exactly what the problem is, I've just recieved a new gearbox housing. So I will be pulling it all apart completely to sort out the problem over christmas. Vintageracer mate thanks for the offer, I may take you up on that. I'm in Melbourne. You are too aren't you? Cheers, Drew

Question about Acto-Power motor
Drewboyaus replied to Drewboyaus's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
I assume then, that I should just chuck out the old motor and get a new one rather than trying to find the right brushes etc for the old one?(mmm.... is that a question or statement?)[8)] Cheers, Drew -
Hi all, Fired up my Dynastorm runner for the first time a few nights ago. I have to say I thought it should have been a bit faster. It was still quick, but there is a difference between being 'quick' and FAST. Is there any maintainence that should be done on the 14 Turn Acto-power motor to get it pumpin' out more power[}]? I'm a real newbie with the hotter motors and don't understand much about brushes etc[:I].....Can anyone help? Cheers, Drew.

Ah-ha, I have found a secret stash of spares for the Dynastorm (it's where my new body is comming from).[] Having a good driver behind the wheel of the Dyna prolly rules me out!![)] -

Mate, You MUST build that Dynastorm, they look fast standing still and handles like a dream! Mine's a runner I picked up from ebay with a **** aftermarket body on it. But I've got a new body coming soon....[] Cheers, Drew. -
Mate, I've had good success with ELO too, but I also hear the nitro fuel works well. Stay away from the brake fluid option, really messes with lexan, and super toxic![xx(]

Drewboyaus replied to sticks's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
My faves are: Frog (my first buggy), Hotshot, Fox and I reckon best of all, certainly to drive, is the Dyna Storm (fast and fun)[8D]. The SRB's were a bit before my time too. Cheers, Drew. -

And there are still more I know of![] -
Hi guys, Can anyone tell me if there is a substitute for a set of fox gears? The gearbox in my Fox is rooted (broken!) and I need to replace some if not all the gears. Is there anything I can substitute or do I have to hang out for the genuine article? Cheers, Drew

This is more like it, but I know there are more!![] Hey, I wouldn't be too worried about the black caps, the one dayers are proving to be a good series, though I'd rather see a best of 5. -

Alex, I know that Rx7 is there, but I'm on the hunt for a NIB Dynastorm to match my runner.[8D] Cheers, Drew -

Bought a new fox bodyset from this guy, have emailed him a couple of times about tracking details with no respone. I'm getting a little worried, but then JR and Tamiya RC aren't the best at communication either. Supposed to be shipped EMS, how long should I wait before I make waves? Cheers, Drew. id="quote">id="quote">Just to clear this up, both these sellers are legit. I recieved an email from one of them today repling that he sent me an email yesterday in reponse to my question about tracking details. I didn't recieve the email. Not for the first time through ebays email system though. I have cleared the air with the seller concerned. Anyway, I got my tracking details and my bodyshell is on its way. This is the beauty of EMS. Cheers, Drew. BTW I was a bit harsh on JR[:I]. -

James, I think there was a reference to this about p9. Apparently because the distributor has to carry another line of spares, and they cannot be bothered, we will not be seeing the Hornet in OZ. Cheers, Drew -

Thanks mate, I'll let you know as soon as I do. I can't get him to reply to emails which doesn't look good for me. I'll wait another few of days before going completely mental. Fair few Aussise around this site now.....maybe there's a thread in that? Are you in Albury-Woodonga? Cheers, Drew -

G'day James, The problem is it aint n-trans that I've purchased from, its jhobbytokyo. Appears to have exactly the same syle of listing. Don't know if this guy is from the same place or a fraud using n-trans' listings. Or are they one in the same? My concern is that I've bought the same body set you did! [] -

No-no its not Tamia RC or JR I'm concerned about its this one: I have only had good experience dealing with Tamiya RC $ JR. Other than they are not great at responding to emails. Drew -

Last time from Tamiya RC it took approx 5 days, I'm at 7 now and a bit concerned after seeing your post, especially given I am getting no joy with email contact[!]. Trouble is, I offered some cash to end the auction early which, though everyone seems to do it and it was on his posting, appears to be against ebay polocy and thus I don't think I will be covered. I might be pleasantly surprised and the goods may turn up, but I should have stuck to my policy of no feedback = no bid (I just wanted that fox bodyshell). Cheers, Drew
