Keeping it here, no point in making another thread for a short question: The TT02 can be setup for the 380, but what about the TT-01E?
-
@TexVan - too bad about the colour selection with the On Point stuff. Hope it'll turn out fine with blue - just paint it and get out running.
-
I've no idea if that is anything but @Poor Boys RC mentioned On Point colour in this video: I am not in Canada and I have no idea - just a pointer, if you haven't already seen it/know about it (the paint I mean).

So, What Have You Done Today? (Vol 2 2025)
JimBear replied to CoolHands's topic in General discussions
Just ... wow! That's some serious work in there. -
If it would be some sort of TRF copy, then perhaps the module is 0.4. I'll have to source a pinion and a motor that fits through the motor mount bulkhead.
-
I don't have any orignal parts, but I could pull it apart and measure things. But then I would have to figure out what model it is. But yes, if I was able to give something back to the community, I'd be happy. Best thing in that case would be if someone versed in the TRF stuff could give me an idea of what pieces to measure. What immediately seems different is the lengthwise placement of the servo. I can make more photos in the same of someone being interested.

Yes, of course. Too much! Well, being serious: it's a bunch of aluminium and possibly carbon so 100 euros is perhaps okay-ish for what it is: a learning experience.
-
I'll have to figure the spur gear size, it's less than 0.6 (tried the old LRP motor). May have to pull it apart in that case, and if I go down that rabbit hole, see if I can find something that is common. It's a bit more fiddly when you have nothing to go on, no spec sheet or anything.

Go magnetic perhaps? -
Thanks - at least a portal leading into the maze ...

Short story: Ebay bidding late at night ... you know that ends, bad things happen and you wake up confused the next day. So, I got something that looks like a wannabe TRF hot racing thing, except it's likely not and I have no idea what it is; what pinion I should use, or even what motor (a Mabuchi doesn't fit anyways - something brushless?) ... In total, I am lost and this probably will end up in the bottom of a Box of Shame, or at best as a bodyholder on a shelf. The only markings is PMM on the carbon deck (?) and Jiebao TR on the belt. Just curious if someone has used such ... a thing?

What think of as icons, looking at it from the outside as in "instantly recognisable rc cars, even for someone who isn't or wasn't much into the scene": The Lunch Box (it's really the Lunch Box - I can still remember looking at that box up on the shelf in the local toyshop) - although I smile whenever I see a Pumpkin too. Sand Scorcher (older and closer to "driveable model", the iconic Bug body and the colour scheme, although these days I personally prefer the Buggy Champ) Grasshopper (also in the Baja Bug vein, although less of a realistic one) For hanging around a bit on a lazy afternoon, these three are perfect, I think. Even the neighbours would watch for a minute.

Is it the new racer for Grandma? I've been thinking of picking one of these up - looking forward to see how it turns out. -
Since I was fiddling around with one of the CR-01 axles the other day, getting rid of dirt and mould (yuck) on it, I noticed (since I never built one from scratch) that the caster (?) angle of the uprights are different front and rear (see snapshot from manual) - what does the 15 degree vs 25 degree caster angle do, really?
-
"I want to believe" ... (just as I guessed - that the information was somewhere else than in the actual manual - thanks for showing us!)

Definitely a couple for this thread - love the colourful theme on them: -
Som man skulle ha sagt på svenska - "ingen orsak!" (from a Swede to a Dane, I presume?)

Possibly eckl-systemtechnik on ebay.de?

FTX Outback 2.0 Land Cruiser Project

In a word - wonderful! In more words: it looks very scale and the walk seems to have been a relaxing romp over the hills and so on. Some very nice photos in there - the greenery is very ... uhm... green! I am looking forward to see more of it (the truck I mean). It seems to do quite well. As for Stalker, I think the landscape has some of the Tarkovsky vibes, indeed (since I haven't played the game, I can only relate to the film). I've spent a good while over the last few days going through the Big 6 thread - so much in there to ponder.- 98 replies

I am still all over the place painting-wise, and I have nothing to show for it. But I like the idea - and I really like the Teapots - what's the story behind these, really?
-
@skom25 is on the right track I think. I have changed my mind on this from where I started out, and now I think a standard build is a good idea, to get a feel for what needs to be done for you personally. And then you can go to town with whatever hopups and extra you might fancy. But ... given that, and having gotten a TT-02 for my kid, and seeing him build it, I think ball bearings and a steel pinion is a minimum (the cheesium original lasted about three meters since the mesh between the gear and pinion was too tight, which might not be easy to figure out when you're nine and on your third build). The shocks... well, their "construction" shocked me, to be honest. They work, but they are almost NSFW-worthy, construction-wise. But put them in, run it and see what it feels like. Juniors' car is still running on them, and he's having fun with his Ford. That's what matters to me. As for the diffs, I now remember that the kid put them in wrong way around somehow. But that's how one learns, right? Whatever you do, have fun with the TT-02.

What about flatheaded screws/bolts? Or some miniature bolts (but that would break the budget, I was thinking of something akin to RC4WDs wheel bolts, etc)? Apart from that, it's coming along really nice and I think the rims/tyres fit really well.
-
I'll never buy a TA08 (famous last words, eh?) but is it possible to fit the R chassis to the standard TA08? Getting a TA-something is still in the queue, by the way. Some "other stuff" got in the way.

Does it contain the grille? I have the impression a good few of the Jconcepts bodies comes "bare" and needs addtional things like cages, roll cages etc to be complete, that's why I am asking.
