  1. That's great that you found the parts, @toyolien! 👌
  2. I don't know how the UK customs react to small innocent packages sent from Germany? I am anyways ordering some stuff tomorrow Wednesday, so I can always put your things on my list and send them onwards.
  3. I know you have minimum orders for the UK, so maybe one of us mainlanders can do you a favour, if you only need those pieces.
  4. I don't have a Wild Willy or a Blazin' Blazer, just happened to read this thread a while ago: --- where it seems like the person who did spare tyres just don't do them anymore (for whatever reason). Maybe someone else knows better ... or has other leads in your search.
  5. @Twinfan beat me to it - Tamico has them. All you need now is to find a bunch of "other stuff" to pad the order out ...
  6. It looks great, @naturbo2000! I wasn't fully sure when I first saw the photo of the cut body, but with the painted black line around it turned out really well.
  7. Aha - that's great - never thought of that one as an offroad bug. I'll get me one if they become available again.
  8. @NeonScorcher - it's easy to catch the bug. What body do you use for the CR-01?
  9. Bugs are fun! I have looked at the Carten VW body a few times, but seeing yours, this looks way better than in the product shots. Maybe one could build an M-06 version with the Ra pieces from the M-05? Anyways, hope it runs as nice as it looks!
  10. This. I just love it! Looking forward to see this come to life.
  11. The B9 pieces are there on the sprue (see photo nabbed from the interwebs, on the left).
  12. @MJJ1543 - I like the stance of your Grasshopper, and the Rising Fighter wheels/tires look good too. Something about the dampers looked familiar ... and then I remembered my Brat "project" upstairs. Will be interesting to see what sort of body you end up with.
  13. Great, @jonboy1 and @OldSchoolRC1! I'll get the screwdriver out ...
  14. Today? Well, just sniffin' the tires and dreaming of summer, man ...
  15. Not fully sure of the tires - I love the size (Tamiya comical) but since they are so soft, and the original rims aren't beadlocks (that is, they just don't grip the sidewall) - I might try at first with the original Vize Crawlers. I am assuming the inner/outer rings for the rims (with all 80 screws, haha) are just bling? I had a bit of a worry at first that the Big Rocks would scrub the body, but here it is sitting at its lowest. I adjusted it a bit upwards and it all works better (on the bench at least).
  16. Bag B arrived ... ... so I've started out putting the other parts back into place. It's a pretty good idea to be somewhat organized, and having a table of your own to leave it all set up. In hindsight a stand (rotating, please) would have been a good iinvestment, but iI'll have to make do this time.
  17. No, but I'll look into some sort of mod eventually, similar to what is mentioned in here: I'd love to support AmPro, but sadly Shapeways gets too expensive with the shipping and wrangling with customs (yes, I have to go to the office, open the box in front of an officer and tell them what funny stuff is in the box, pay the fees and leave).
  18. I spent parts of the day helping the kid with the Rising Fighter, upgrading the Tamiya cheese steering linkage. Beefier ball ends (5 mm) and M3 threaded rod to the rescue. Finally, the thing moves under its own power again, after a dismal end to its first outing. Still needs a bit o' love and adjustments but much better already.
  19. Try to measure it from wheelnut to wheelnut and that'll get you an approximate wheelbase. I would assume that you anyways have to take into account how large the tyres are and how the body sits on the chassis, etc. Nitro is way beyond my skill level, but I still find them cool.
  20. Great tips, @Fuijo and @toyolien! I am working up the courage to do some brush painting. I've read somewhere that one can use X-22 (clear coat) to seal tape, but I haven't tried it, so can't say if it really works or not, for this particular application. As for the paint-on primer, I have since searched around bit and found that it should be mixed 1:1 with lacquer thinner (87077) to be useful. Need to get some next time I am doing an order. I'll make a few tests and update as I go along.
  21. I've been putting the second servo (rear) in today, while waiting for a bag B (turned out to be easier than trying to source the missing pieces by themselves) to show up. I anyways need to replace bent steering linkage (really exposed). I haven't found another F-sprue (lower front bumper) so may have to figure something out.
  22. Our resident village idjit (that is me, no doubt!) ran off to fetch his little scissors ... and well, I am much obliged, sir. It works as intended.
  23. @jonboy1 - thanks for the suggestions! First off, the cable tie mystery: it came like this, with zip ties on both front and back end. It used to have 4WS. But maybe the simple solution is just that: that it was packed up like that, to secure the linkage during transport. Never thought of that, really ... The servos are new. As why I can't get the servo horn to connect is partly because the zip tie is in the way, and partly because the adjuster is at an odd angle to the servo which in itself is angled downwards. Obvious questions are very much allowed! I have a manual. Otherwise I'd really be up a bad creek with no paddle.
  24. I've decided to put this up in a specific thread ... Long story short, I have an already-built CR-01 on the bench. I've never built one of these, so if anything seems stupid, it's probably on me. In general, figuring something out that is already made (or built) can be a bit of a challenge, especially with missing and/or modified parts. I've started digging into this while waiting for a few parts. I have gotten stuck on the servo, we are now up the front. I am thinking of getting a Hi-torque (51000) servo saver to put on the ebay servo, but wanted to run this by your clever minds before I run off buying even more stuff I might not need. I've tried it with the original servo horn that came in the bag, but I can't get it to fit to the ball connector nut. 1. I am assuming that it has to do with the ball connector nut and the adjuster needing to be in a different angle? 2. The zip tie (second photo) also confounds me a bit - what is it for? This CR-01 is missing the protection bars that sits on the front axle housing - former owners' idea - might have been to keep a "cleaner" look to it. I would very much appreciate any pointers and help. I'll update this thread as I get along.
