@chris.alex the esteemed Mr. @TurnipJF told me a year ago about the M-03 ... ... but maybe he has come up with some other things in the past year?

Well, I tend to get bogged down in thoughts like this too - the monkey mind, indeed. Wonderful thing about the biker showup for the boy - love it, how cool is that for support!

A hundred years later (it feels like, grey haired and tired) - it was this screenshot that I wanted to show: It is a DT-02, with a Rock Socker body and Kyosho rims - very cool. Not mine, but I wish ...

So, What Have You Done Today? (Vol 2 2025)

Thanks, @Re-Bugged - the bug has landed, I mean I sorted it now, and it seems to work. -

Testing ... https://tcphotos.net/image/zRl5L Well ... it just doesn't work ... sigh. -
Yep, adding to the choir ... I really like your builds, @Nikko85. The Dakar idea sounds tempting ...

I just remembered: weirdly enough, I have been able to post @Tamiyastefs photo (inserting the URL) ... but I can't post my own test photo from TCphotos ... In that specific case is it most likely a permission thing, as I noted above. -
There are a few threads already on this, but I think the Head Mechanic (admin) is working on the issue.

I am thinking of replacing an aluminium part (2 mm thickness, bottom plate for a car build) - with carbon fibre (or Kydex). From what I've read (very much a non-engineer!), carbon fibre seems more rigid at the same thickness (but lighter). I was thinking the carbon would have more flex at a given thickness. The Kydex, I've less of an idea. Does it need to be thicker than the aluminium, or can I keep the carbon at 2 mm thickness?

Pinging @netsmithUK: Testing (with TCphoto): https://tcphotos.net/image/zRl5L (tried using the Other Media/Insert Image from URL too - no error message, but still won't process the link) Tried another one - putting it into an album and trying from there: https://tcphotos.net/album/zwha (tried this one too as above, inserting image from url, got a bit further; it seems to process the image but after a while it goes back to the insertion window, no result) I am inclined to think it is a authorization issue on the server side. -

Yay - it works! Off to the races, then! -
Yes, it's Friday again (again) ... Today I need to get off the lawn, no, I need to get on the lawn actually, since I have to put two rose bushes in. And it's raining ... bwhaa ... (good, but not good, sort of) so I'll most likely sing in the rain while digging. It'll annoy the squirrels at least. Other than that, I guess Saturday is going to be chores around the house, and Sunday maybe I'll put the Schrott Racer together and run it as it is, just to toot around a bit. Have a great weekend, fellows!
-
You know, lazy sunday afternoon, late evening. the in-between space ... and you want to drive around a bit, down the road. No car, perhaps walking or even taking the bike. What is your favourite bring-along, no-fuss RC car? Mine would be the 380 Schrott Racer - Grasshopper II with a 380: longer runtimes, and tootling around, there is not much risk of having something falling off, ending the session. (Still working on this one, faffing with rims, tyres and body combinations - Wilhelm "Willy" Schrott is on the bench, half-painted)
-
I can relate to that - bought a set for Junior and they are still good - except for the fact that the chrome seems a bit brittle; one of the rears has a bit of the rim gone to whereabouts unknown. I have no idea if the black version is better in that respect but on your Python the chrome ones fit really well.
-
I see your point and I guess my needs are the same - it was just the thought that struck me that I might be trying to save in the wrong end (for me) - that is buying another kit instead of getting decent electronics. But that's the hard thing - knowing what's what. And in this case, @Juggulars write-up is a good help.

I tried again today, with a local photo from the computer (.jpg), and still no luck. I know, I could set up Flickr or something and link from there, but since I am a subscriber, I'd rather use TCphoto (asked for access), but since that process is convoluted too, I am sort of stuck until someone in charge pulls some levers. Perhaps @acprc could poke the boss? -
I find that the ability to re-center is a good thing to notice - to me, it doesn't matter if it is a supposedly 25 kg servo and costs 5 euros if it can't re-center correctly. Most likely, as you write @Juggular, especially with the cheap servos, the X kg and X speed is to be taken with a grain of salt. And it's not a dig at anyone, just an observation that I sometimes think of spending 200 euros on a kit, and then I scrounge around to find a servo for 10 euros ...

I just wanted to show a quick photo but since it still doesn't work ... ...you have to take a look at the 44 minutes video instead! Some pretty amazing ideas out there, really. I found this one over at the Pine Beach Raceway blog.

I've tried various sizes, and various formats (webp, jpg, png) and neither dragging it into the window or "choose files" works - I get the same error message as the other posters. I can select an existing attachment (from the "other media" tab) and that shows up. -
There is a Scorpion lurking in there - be careful!

Ever have trouble looking at one of your RC cars?
JimBear replied to Saito2's topic in Anything not RC related goes here
Too bad about the Hillwalking truck, by now it's almost a trademark Mad Ax creation, but I can see the "20 there and 50 there" adding up (looking at Socky the CR-01) - not to mention the "bits falling off" dilemma. But I have the impression that you aren't much of an RTR (Royal Tea Ranger for anybody who doesn't recognise that shorthand) fellow, either. So there is an obvious risk that you'll end up coming up with a Hillstalker Truck 2.0 down the road if you abort this one. -
Pro Carbon Pumpkin
JimBear replied to Nikko85's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
@Nikko85 I really like the satin black - the bare black plastic is okay, but painted looks even better ... I'll make a note of it for the future (still need to get my own QD copy Pumpkin body setup somewhere).
