That sounds like a typical Lunchbox person ...

@phiber_optik - how did you set up the electronics in the end? I know you asked about an ESC for the original 4-cell battery. Did you set that up or did you go for the 6-cell (then it's no issue with the ESC I assume)?

I don't know where it comes from originally, except I took that measurement from here: https://tamiyabase.com/tamiya-models/58384#dim-s It's most likely a typo then, since the original 58038 version has the 248 mm wheelbase: https://tamiyabase.com/tamiya-models/58038#dim-s

What to do with a Juggernaut 1?
JimBear replied to davidsen's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
Then it's just getting on the train and riding off into the sunset ... great! And a monster truck that you can't use sounds ... aah ... useless. -
Thanks, @markbt73 and @Re-Bugged - from looking at the manuals of both of them, I was worrying about my sanity ... (Thinking of converting my "sitting-on-a-bench-forever" Brat into a fake Sand Scorcher, that's why I asked)

What is the difference between a Brat and a Frog when it comes to the wheelbase - the Frog is specified as 250 mm (I've seen 248 mm too) but the Brat seems to be longer at 260 mm?

What to do with a Juggernaut 1?
JimBear replied to davidsen's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
Without getting bogged down in politics, a world of free trade seems somewhat off in the distance I think ... I'd love to have a Jugg, but I am not up to the hassle to trying to find pieces at unobtanium prices - so for me personally, I am thinking: How badly do you want it? And how quickly? Maybe the middle way - upgrade, drive carefully and in the meantime, wait for the 005759 sprue to show up. Maybe have a look at Buyee? -
@Anthroxoid - all fine! - this era of buggies was well before my time, so I have just been trying to figure what is what, sort of. Perhaps there was somebody actually running Yokomos back in the early 80's when I read the local hobby magazine cover to cover, but I can only remember seeing Kyoshos in there.

Perhaps it is a Black Foot, this one? Yes, I see your point - sometimes hot new stuff isn't needed. I had no idea that the Blackfoot had pogo sticks, always thought it was a Monster Beetle truck version.

Right upper corner in your post - the three dots - and then "edit" - doesn't that work? Photos - try pasting the link (no [IMG], [URL]) and see where that leads you? (I posted your photo in the A110 Alpine thread)
-
@Busdriver just the url copied, without IMG and URL tags, as far as I understand it. I tried to paste your photo shown above through the "other media" box below right in the edit window, but straight off copying the link into the edit window works too, from my side. Just this part, inserted [brackets] so that it just shows the code needed: [https://tcphotos.net/images/2025/06/18/IMG_3239.jpeg]

All credits to @Busdriver - it's his car and his photo, just trying to help out a bit ...

@Grumpy pants - that's a serious haul of wonderful stuff! Do it all a favour and make a more specific ad title. I am not in the market or even in the UK, but it would be great to see a few of these go to TC members.

Does anyone else keep the Spare Parts and Hop-Ups tags?
JimBear replied to TexVan's topic in General discussions
I keep them in case I need to buy another for some other future car or project, but also to know what has gone where. -
That's some happy farming right there. Very clever with the eyes and its joyous mouth. Brightens every dull day.

Oops - double post!

Ooh, that's a hard question! The first one that comes to mind is the Kyosho Optima (without any turbo, pro or whatnots). I love those rims and tyres and the low slung style. One day, one day ... maybe. Tamiya: Och, I am a Wild Willy fan. It's not practical or anything, it just makes me smile. Tamiya On-road: Mini Cooper. Can the gnomes and elves over at Tamiya hurry up, please? Yokomo? The 870c for its oddball body shape and but mostly the design idea - the simplicity - less but better. Here is just one (amazing) example: https://www.neovintage-rc.com/post/project-neo-vintage-yokomo-870c-1989-worlds-car-masami-hirosaka Ask me another day, and it might be a different answer. And if I have to choose only one, then it's the Optima.

Now the old feeling came back ... (only 28 points to the next level) - it's grinding time! (Anybody who ever trundled hill and dale in World of Warcraft knows what I mean) ...
-
Maybe I am reading you wrong @Anthroxoid ... but the Teams' YZ-10 is quite different from the 834b and its siblings? More a development of the 870c line? (it gets a bit confusing to trace the history - just so that I understand your line of thinking)

Gotta collect'em all!

A belated thank you, my dear man! It was a good birthday, with an excellent cake (strawberry tiramisu). Not very Tamiya-related but still ...
-
So, I go off on an innocent holiday trip ... just for a bit, and what happens? You turn the whole house upside down and throw a party! Seriously, a small note: the tags associated with the threads are pretty hard to read. And as has been said already, I've turned into a newbie again, whee! Beginners mind, zen mind.

Tamico has them too -> TA-19808008 I guess one could bend something similar out of piano wire.
-
It struck me now, looking at the last photos that the 1:1 truck shown in the post before seems to have something like a metal bar in the area where you now have the sawn-away gap. Maybe that is an idea to copy, to keep it from looking too empty down there?

Selling some models - Alejo's Project Thread
JimBear replied to OoALEJOoO's topic in General discussions
Digging this up again ... the T3-01 rims don't have a 12 mm hex, but a 10 mm one, okay? Does it make sense to try out the 53342 and drill out the a hexes to fit (expensive, possibly a better option somewhere) the T3-01 rims onto a "standard" axle? I have no idea if the original hole on the hex itself is bigger/smaller. Just a random thought.
