So, What Have You Done Today? (Vol 2 2025)
JimBear replied to CoolHands's topic in General discussions
It looks like all-out fun this one. I had a late night thought about the MF-01x - it's a quite different chassis - but I still wondered if it would be possible to turn one of these into a buggy of sorts? The XM-01 is probably much better in all regards, but still ... -
Eat the Frog, as they say. Oh sorry, Beetle, in this case, then.
-
Yes, I've been meaning to get something for like ages now, haha ... @phiber_optik - gotta love the paint jobs. Sweet with the caravan too. :) Keep up posted, especially with the electronics part, and later on the ... uuh ... driving characteristics. I assume you are going to drive them outdoors?

Bits and bobs - a set of tyres/rims, a body and a new chassis at least. I'd have to round everything up to assess, the original Mad Fighter has gone through a few iterations, with Ebay wrecks added as needed.

Juhunio's Bits-A-Builds WIP: TA04-TRF Ford Mondeo BTCC

Say what? Tuna fish? (just joking, really enjoy your build shenanigans!) -
Man, I confess to being (or rather, have become) a DT-01 fan. It's basic, and sturdy. The only thing I just don't really like is the battery holder being "half-open", meaning stuff gets in but doesn't really get out, which it turn is hard on the battery and its external condition. I've always sort of wanted a Mad Bull, and still grumble a bit to myself about missing out on them when they were plentiful and cheap. You can still build a bitza, and it's on my Million Projects list. At the moment I think we have about three, with one runner, presently sporting the above shown Fighter Buggy RX body (original stickers and plastic white). Yours looks quite classy with the silver, I'd say.

Ooh, LucasArts ... I am stuck somewhere in the CIV II era, I guess. But yes, screwdriver is better than screen for this monkey. Ook, oook.

Here is a video from Tomley RC:

LESU makes a 1:16 scale tractor chassis where you can put a Bruder body on top of that. Quite expensive (1400 euros) but there are things out there.
-
What a bundle of joy, the little one! Now get out in the woods with the stroller.
-
That's why I was asking ... because the URL looked odd.
-
I don't know but it feels "too good to be true" ... is the website address legit?
-
Trying to "level up", eh? I think the Buggy Champ body would go nice with a 380 motor and some Healthy Racing chassis (DT-02, GHII, etc).
-
I get the idea, and I agree. Probably getting old and all that, but the 380 Schrott Racer has changed things up a bit. Trying to keep it as cheap as possible, reusing parts, leftover cans of paint and electronics just taking up space. Just to see where it gets me. Tooting around, for fun.
-
I guess it could be a Mardave or Kamtec car, but let's see what @phiber_optik says ...
-
Yeah, sounds like a great thing, this! I need to get on top of my RC game too, so I'll follow with interest.

I totally missed out on that angle, with the voltage not being high enough, so I searched around a bit: you could apparently use something called a BEC booster, which ups the voltage to 6v, making it possible to use a more standard ESC, as far as I understand it. Someone more knowledgable will probably come along and correct me if I got it backwards. Since you are in the UK, something like a K1 Kamtec ESC seems like a good bet: https://www.kamtec.co.uk/p/k1-electronic-speed-controller

Tried the Schumacher tyres on Juniors' star dish rims to see how this would look like on the Schrott Racer. U6581 front, and U6558 on the rear, both yellow compound. Hmm... well, something feels off, they look a bit anemic to be honest, and the Star Dish isn't a favourite, either. -
Will you keep the Suzuki SJ30 body on it?
-
I searched around and found the SHERP thread, but the photos seems to be gone, sadly: ... and then I went off looking for the real-life version. Did you do any build threads for the other g6-01 (found a photo of the SWAT and some other red six-wheel body)?

As a sequence, It looks like you took off a perfectly fine BMW door, took a sledge to it and then threw it in the skip. (which I do hope you didn't!)
-
These are, as far as I can ascertain, the ones that come with the new 58749 Audi R8 LMS (TT-02).
-
Which year are we talking about, then? Friday again (again) ... Not much going on this weekend - might fiddle a bit with the 380 Schrott Racer (cable management and driver position) during the next few days. Hoping for some good weather, and very slightly warmer, please. Have a great one, people, dogs and cats!

Just a question, sort of related to the "Pumpkin" above ... the rims, are they 12 mm hex or is it something else? I am pondering "other tyres" options, thinking of the possibility to fit something high and narrow onto M rims - using something like the Tamiya truck tyres (1:14, if they would fit, not sure).
