Hi all
So, not owned an RC for around 35 years - used to mess about with second hand hoppers and hornets etc.. I would go to meets and races, sometimes having a go but usually tagging along with friends who's parents had money, well more disposable than mine did to help fund, helping them and enjoying being around these cars. I still remember us making our own plastic fans, wired to motors in the top of Pot Noodle tubs and cutting out the bottoms to cool batteries while charging...... Good times.
Move forward a few years and I now have an 11 year old who has shown some interest in RC, talk about an excuse!!!! I trolled this forum, watched every YouTube video I could and then went hunting.
My son is straight for a Midnight Pumpkin, he wants to have fun with it then if he likes it, we can look at joining a club, buy another car/cars and start carpet bashing. Myself, I wanted a HotShot, for the sole reason of nostalgia - even though the Schumacher's were THE cars back then, I wanted a HotShot and could never afford one.................... However, once I took one look at the HotShot 2 Blockhead Motors box I had to have it............ I know it's not a great car (some might say from what I have read) but it was a knee jerk and I love the look, love it. MP is built, HS Blockhead is on the way, taking my time and enjoying the build.
I am not going to upgrade these cars, I will keep these stock as our "first cars", a memory if you like, but a question if you don't mind - is there a couple of good cars we can start from racing wise, starting from scratch?? as I feel like I have forgotten everything, or have I just asked how long a piece of string is???
Anyway - Hi all
