  1. They're making the vintage style Jackman wheels again. Even better, he mentions they will be doing sponsorships with Tamiya again too. The Tamiya RC mention is at 11:55 Need a real set of Jackman's for my '66 Bus.
  2. I've also had trouble with PS-31 Smoke eating through dry layers of PS paint. I now mask off everything that won't be painted with PS-31, and paint it in only 3 light, but solid layers, and 3-5 minutes apart. Once PS-31 runs or drips from going on too heavy, it eats the other dry paint layers surrounding it. I must've done that on at least 4 bodies before I figured it out. The Tamiya Polycarbonate Body Cleaner is absolute magic, like the mistakes never happened, I just used it the other day to clean up a mistake on these chrome hood grills, that are backed in PS-5 Black. Smells like the worst poison, but it takes away the fear of ruining the paint job, when the mistakes can be wiped away.
  3. That looks like a fun project. Wondering if you can mod the current chassis, what's it look like under the body?
  4. The only result for 'Volkswagen Motor' I found, is a Weber 40 IDF carb, not the entire motor. Is there another search term that would get me closer? Thanks! https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3398585
  5. That looks great, excellent work! Where did you get the motor from?
  6. Seems strange that they would only provide one O-ring, and not include any instructions; (2) O-rings in the bag would solve any further confusion. Must be tight tolerances.
  7. https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2773916-Tamiya-TT02-aluminum-prop-shaft-lateral-slop Front cup is where they say the O-ring goes, going with that.
  8. Recently received a 911 RSR kit from ebay, for cheap, brand new with no ESC. I've bought quite a few Tamiya kits now, without the ESC, best prices out there. While installing the hop-ups - I noticed there is a single O-ring in the bag: Which end/cup is this O-ring supposed to go in, the front or the back? Thanks!
  9. That's nice! A bit too much blue for the match I'm seeking though. I'm looking specifically for vintage Volkswagen L345 Mausgrau, or Mouse Grey, seen here: If I can't find a near match in polycarb paint, here in the US, I'll need to go with the PS-55 primer, and then $40 worth of L345 Mouse Grey automotive aerosol paint.
  10. Thanks for the replies! I did get a response from the ebay seller with the Core RC Shark Gray, he said they can't ship to the US. I looked at every other gray polycarb paint I could find, and it looks like I'm going to have to use Auto paint again to get the match I'm looking for. I would've sworn I saw a really nice vintage VW gray paint, used here in one of the pictures, from a member here. Thanks again!
  11. Spazstix Battleship Grey polycarb paint does look a bit light. Would be a good idea to back it with black. In the past, I've resorted to using actual automotive paint, with PS-55 Flat Clear acting as primer, it's not cheap but if I want Mouse Gray, looks like I'll need to go that route again. Here's VW, L31 Dove Blue Auto paint over PS-55. Thanks again.
  12. That looks like a near perfect match, thanks! I'm in the US, and I don't see Core RC paint for sale here. I'll update my location. Thanks again. I found an ebay seller with the Core RC Shark Grey paint, I asked if he'd ship to the US. I'll see what he says. https://www.ebay.com/itm/166499094606
  13. Getting ready to start on my third Tamiya VW Bus body. This one will be Mouse Gray. I'm having a hard time figuring out which Tamiya PS paint is the correct match, based on this chart: Does anyone know of a good gray for vintage VW, in PS?
