  1. Wow, what a huge, experienced brain trust to tap into! You've helped me put this project into perspective. I'll approach from two angles; practice my repair and painting skills on a generic body while enjoying playing with the car. And when I've got a bit more confidence, proceed with restoring the original body. Thanks guys for all the great info!
  2. Noob here, first post. This weekend I was cleaning my attic and found a box with a partially built RC car. It's a Mini Cooper with a bunch of "Hop-Up" parts; wheel bearings, heat sink, shock absorbers, stabilizer set, steering set, quick release battery thing, etc. And a bunch of original parts; mechanical speed control, receiver, radio and more. I took it to a local hobby shop and they put in new technology. New servo, digital radio, lipo battery, magnetic body mounts, etc. The original body has seen better days so I bought and painted a new Mini body that kinda looks like the original (both new and old bodies pictured here). I'm about to put all the decals on it, but then had second thoughts about fixing the old body. Also, did I make a mistake by putting new electronics in it? Should I yank them out and put in the old stuff? Your opinions are welcome!
