I just had a look! Nearly £20 for two Tamiya Titanium buckles!
-
I reckon I did the same today with mine. Did a small jump but landed a bit dodgy and the car started to track one way slightly, needed to adjust the trim to sort it. I know you can get titanium turnbuckles as a hop up option from Tamiya.

Just seen on BlockHead Motors social media page that Jun's colourful Hornet will re released in the future. Not a lot more information other than it's coming in the future.

It is quite a right fit for a brushless ESC. It needs to be one with quite a small height. I have literally just squeezed in a EZRUN MAX 10 and it is very cramped under those body panels
-
So following the Youtube video, is this the proper/superior way the front turnbuckles should be mounted?
-
Interesting! None of this is mentioned in the manual at all!
-
Ah okay so that pin is actually in the roof right now, acting as the latch or whatever you call it to swing the roof open.
-
It's not a plastic pin per say, it's like a big tray that the driver figure is built on to, that then covers the battery. I skipped the whole driver process as I am waiting for the Flesh paint to arrive, but I guess you could use the cover without the driver?
-
I didn't even think of that! I just checked though and there is a small gap so it should be all fine? I'll include that page I mentioned as well that is at the end of the build. It should have been mentioned earlier I think, like "for advanced users, look at the section at the end for fitting rear adjustable turnbuckles "
-
It doesn't say anything about putting another body on that i could see😅 There are a few bits similar to the DT02 build, but pretty much only the gearbox construction. Most of it, for me at least, felt quite different and it definitely felt a bit advanced for what is probably intended to be a child's first entry level kit! Only in the sense though like "Oh I wasn't expecting that in a kit like this!" kind of way! The only thing that slightly annoyed me with the overall build process, it comes with turnbuckles etc for the upper arms front and rear, and also a bolt on part that attaches to the rear lower damper mounts to give you a few extra mounting positions. However, it tells you to add these on the final page after the build is complete! I guess it's kind of like a "add these when you feel ready/confident" kind of thing? It just means you have to start taking a few things apart to fit the new pieces again. They also don't mention about using the front turnbuckles for the short wheelbase, only for the long one. Thought that was a bit odd. I've got mine built in short wheelbase mode (where I run I need tighter turning), and I fitted the front turnbuckles with no issues whatsoever, so not sure why they aren't included in the Short's instructions. I think they imply that the short wheelbase is for beginners, but they could still have mentioned you can mount the turnbuckles if you desire.

Is there anything in particular you want to know/see?
-
No😅I've just been running it, haven't had any issues with the battery flying out actually 😅 I just needed the paint for the driver before putting him in.
-
They are intended to be begginer friendly 2WD buggies, but they have a lot of scope for upgrades and customability. Once you start getting some upgrades in they are very good runners.
-
It's a DT02/03 with a better steering set up and customisation options out of the box. That about sums it up
