  1. For what it’s worth I have had the same experiences with my dt02, but the car is wider and shorter, it’s planted, the chassis works in my opinion
  2. This is a sand viper? Mine came with different wheels or am I missing something here
  3. The black wheels tie the chassis and windows right choice in my opinion
  4. I managed to have some success with yellow on a plasma edge, i just hit it with a full tin on neon yellow then put 2 light coats of white on top of it this was the result
  5. Thanks for the reply’s everyone, a lot to digest but I’m making some sence of it and really appreciate it !
  6. So I’m not going to say I’m new to the hobby now as I’m at 8 builds in, however when I have searched for answers I have come up empty on this! for my second build I asked my lhs about more power and getting a super stock motor and so on. His advice was just go brushless which I did and have done with every build since, but I was and probably still am naive so just listened, and every build since I have gone brushless as a rule! as time has gone on though and I’ve become more curious im just wondering as I wasn’t aware of the options of running lipo on a brushed motor but would this give me the noticeable added performance to a brushed super stock motor? i know tamiya arnt the cutting edge performance machine but their cars are what attracted me to the hobby so I don’t mind that, but as I am building these cars I would much prefer to keep it tamiya, there is something about the look of a super stock that ticks boxes for me, and I’m starting to dislike the fact of sticking off brand brushless kits in these things that at the end of the day tears these cars apart. I don’t want them to be race winners but do get enjoyment seeing them with a bit more guts! any advice appreciated GS
  7. Great choice in colour! We have the same taste! Although mine isn’t quite as intricate as yours
  8. Ahhh yeah, I see that now, I never really considered that but now you say it I see what you’re saying
  9. I have my oldest using a mantaray, (he’s 11) yeah it’s not lightning or a competitive race machine, but it requires building under standing and appreciation. Plus what is speed without control skills. give a kid a pre built rocket ship out the gate and straight away he’s skipping the step of performance knowledge, ie: I built this so I know it’s got nylon spacers not bearings, I wonder how it will perform if I replace those with bearings. then he gets the satisfaction for his work when he sees improvement buying anyone a race ready car for there 1st rc is like getting a 17 year old a M3 when they pass their test. Well kind of you get my drift
  10. Totally agree, social media is like going to tmz for your news updates! My first move was I registered on this forum when I got into the hobby, you can get honest advice by enthusiasts and the rating system stops the trolling being taken seriously! seeking advice on facebook is like asking a junky how you should best spend your wages! (this is my opinion from experience and by no means should be considered as fact, other opinions are available from other forum members and individual experiences may differ)
  11. No the scale works the other way, it’s one slower 😂
