  1. Thanks guys!
  2. so can you get on road tyres that are the same diameter as the off road types? cos these ones look like the same size as the off roads http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=1924&id=195 I'm actually looking to gear down from 21t to 18-19t.
  3. http://www.goldstarstockists.com/tamiyapar...00-pictured.htm Hi could someone do me a favour and let me know if the wheels and on-road tyres on this page will go onto a ta01 chassis?!? I've got my dirt thrasher fully ball raced and running a 19t reedy motor and the spiked tyres wont last 10mins on the road! The thing is nippy! btw thanks for the help in other threads - I've got an aluminium motor mount, reinforced prop shaft and some spares coming for it. I've also got a 18&19t pinion on the way, the 21t one is just burning rubber! Now to race that Losi of my mates...
  4. anyone who thinks those motor mounts are hard to get hold off should try to get a re-inforced prop shaft. I've only seen one and that's selling with a bunch of gear box spares and other bits and bobs for $50 odd.
  5. I found one which doubles as a heat sink for just over a tenner GBP []
  6. ok, thanks anyway.
  7. ... a reinforced TA02 prop shaft will fit in a ta01?
  8. Had to go watch spidey 2 during the final 2 hours of bidding - really bad timing! It went for £26!
  9. A ta01/02 motor mount currently at £17. That's a lot more than they're worth but it's such a rare item should I go for it? This is the olnly one I've seen in the time I've been looking for one.
  10. The reciever has BEC according to the label. hmmm I'm beginning to think the esc itself is faulty. I soldered the capicitors on and the same thing happened. The motor works fine with the tamiya esc however. Im 99% certain the esc is getting the correct signal from the reciever because the lights are lighting green when I push forward, red for reverse and both when in nuetral which is what they are supposed to be. The manual/pamphlet says that when the motor kicks off before you can even set it up the unit could be faulty. One word for that... ****** [V]
  11. Cheers virus, out with the soldering iron again then!
  12. another thing related to the above... the reedy motor came with two capicitors that can be soldered on to prevent 'noise' which I didnt bother to put on - do u think that could be it?
  13. ooooh dear I'm havin a bit of a problem with this esc. I'm using my old acoms reciever and controller that I got a while back. This worked fine with the tamiya esc. The tamiya esc came with a power on/off switch where this one does not. That's not so much a problem as the servo for channel 1 seems to be getting its power down the cable from channel 2 - the new esc. I run through the setup procedure but as soon as I connect the motor cables the thing starts up full pelt! I can see the esc taking the correct signals from the controller because the green and red led's light up when I move the throttle - its just not telling the motor to stop! It's the mtroniks sport 15 btw.
  14. OK all the bits and pieces have arrived (minus the ball diff which I assume they ran out of cos I didnt get charged for it). In the middle of a bidding war for an aluminium motor mount on ebay too! Thanks for your help chaps. BTW do you guys think the 21t pinion is a bit too much for the buggy with quite a hot motor?
