  1. I've ran several batteries though it. I love it. Glad I went with it for my first tamiya kit. Only complaint is that the tires are pretty hard. I may pick up another set of wheels and try out some other 2.2 tires later on. these do look nearly nice though.
  2. Ended up not painting it. Boy it was a lot of work cutting out the decals. For a first try it turned out alright. My Dad and I want to build and race around some Tamiya touring cars so saving towards that instead of towards paints. Edit: What a blast! Ran two batteries thought it this morning. I think the motor is just about right for were i have to run it.
  3. Yeah they should be stock. I think the newest version has it included.
  4. I am having a hard time finding the tamiya ABS glue anywhere. how's this? https://www.amainhobbies.com/plastruct-plastic-weld-cement-2oz-pls00002/p424867
  5. I enjoy my stampede. I had wanted one back in the early 2000s but could not afford one. when getting back into R/C this summer after a 20+ year absence I bought a new one. It's a blast stock with the 12 turn 550 .That said I probably won't be buying any new traxxas R/Cs. I'd go second hand if I get more. I was pretty annoyed that it has bushings stock. A $13 pack of sealed bearings took care of that, and the wheelie bar was a must too to keep asphalt from chewing up the gearbox.
  6. If this is the wrong section to ask this I apologize. I am trying to figure out the best glue to use on my re-re blackfoot body for the sun roof panel and rear glass. Would the standard tamiya model glue work?
  7. This is my First go at building a Tamiya kit. It was a blast to build, but man did I make a mess of the dining table lol. Re release Blackfoot with fast eddy sealed bearings, savox budget metal gear servo, kimbrogh medium servo saver, fly sky gt3c radio, 3000mah nimh, MIP ball diff and a tamiya dirt tuned motor. I won't be able to afford to build a lot of kits, so I got one that I really wanted and splurged on a few things that I wanted on it. I love the 80-86 Ford f series. Will be a few weeks before I can afford the paint sadly. Had to drop $130 on a starter for my car unexpectedly. ouch.
  8. my only other R/C at the moment is a traxxas stampede with a 8.4v nimh. It's a blast. About 15 min run time before it slows down. other than bearings it's stock. far better than the old nicd batteries. I will give the silver can a go first the next time round. I don't think the dirt tuned will be over kill, it is still a 27 turn. Edit: thought I should clarify, i got a 7.2v battery for my blackfoot
  9. I don't have any lipo batteries or a charger for them. I probably will at some point. Getting back into r/c after well over a 20 year absence. I have a 3000mah nimh ordered for it as it is what I am familiar with. I ordered my stuff today. A flysky GT3C, a spare receiver for a future kit, a savox budget metal gear servo, kimbrough medium servo saver, the dirt tuned motor, a 3000 mah nimh battery and charger and a tamiya tool kit. I still need to figure out what color I want to paint it, or if I want to do it box art.
  10. I watched some videos of the blackfoot with the stock 540. I agree it dose well. hmm. I do have the money set aside for a motor, and it makes me fell a bit better about spending the cash on the mip diff lol. I think I am going to go with the dirt tuned. And I will have a silver can siting around for a future grasshopper too
  11. Hello. I am about to build my first tamiya kit, a re-re blackfoot. I have the kit, fast eddy sealed bearings and a MIP diff. I am ordering the radio gear, tool kit battery and a motor Tuesday. I am wanting an upgraded motor will a little more speed, but mostly more torque. Were I have to drive most often is a pretty small lawn so more torque seems like a good idea. I could drive in the street as well, but I want to protect the ABS body as much as i can.( I love the 80-86 ford F series) Anyway I was planing on a dirt tuned motor but saw that the gt tuned is also rated for off road and has a good bit more torque. How would the gt tuned motor do in a blackfoot in grass? should I stick with the dirt tuned?
