  1. I flipped the tires around (nuts facing outward, ha-ha…) and the front wheels turn freely now.
  2. Yeah. I was painting a part with my Gazoo shell sitting behind me. I thought it was far enough away but the overspray made its way around me and I didn’t notice it until I laid down the white.
  3. Yep, the bolts are correct; 8mm up front and 10mm in the rear. I may need to sand a little off the hub spindles.
  4. Just took out my BlockHead Wild One spare parts in order to find the wheel adapters for the Grasshopper rear paddle tires.
  5. I believe that I need to play around with shims. The Grasshopper front tires, when bolted-down, are pinched and don’t turn freely. edit: Maybe I need to loosen them up a little.
  6. Grasshopper front tires rub too much.
  7. Thanks for the good info here; I’m ready for sandy conditions. In my experience paddle tires always out perform knobbies in sand no matter what the tire pattern. The Dumont Sand Dunes were the proving grounds for this remark. The Grasshopper tires and wheels work out well. I purchased a set of aluminium wheel adapters but they were more low profile than the kit supplied plastic parts and the tires were rubbing the shocks. With the kit supplied parts, all is well (to save others money). I may add the Grasshopper front tires (in-hand) to negate the negative rake with the stock front tires. edit: how are you all painting the tire text? Paint pen? Paint brush? If the former, what type of paint? Although, if a runner, is it really worth the effort?

  9. Our little thing always chooses the long roads, and it’s he who decides. No discussions.

  11. Happened to my grandfather and I on a nature hike in the Los Angeles hills once. We came upon a gang member party at a small waterfall at the end of the canyon where we watched one of their guys fall off a cliff and crack his head open. I had to run miles out of the canyon to find help since everyone at the party was well intoxicated. Ended up at some guy’s house who phoned 911. Rescue sent in a helicopter and I had to go back the miles up into the canyon to lead the rescuers to the scene.
  12. Thinking of purchasing a Brat for that road…
