  1. RCmart giving me more reasons not to shop from them. Maybe I should just make a chassis, I do have a big sheet of 3mm ABS. Or... for a 100 bucks on ebay. I really don't want to spend that much money, but it is cool lol. Plus it's extra weight, so that may have an effect on handling.
  2. Alright, I think I'm not going to check it. Lol, I went looking for it and it turns out that I already installed them, which is why my TL01 has two ball diffs.🤣
  3. It just so happens that I have a manta ray ball diff and some standard TL01 diffs, so I can check when I'm assembling it.
  4. If In mint condition, put it on the shelf and buy a re-release. Just my opinion.
  5. Alrighty, here is a list of available parts: and some extras I might swap out or ad. I should have the plenty of hardware like screws, bearings, metal diff gears and I think I have some long 5mm aluminum tubes that I can cut to the sizes needed for the gearboxes. The tie rods are easy to make, I have some chrome 2.2 in wheels, a matching pair of motors, plenty of servos, an MSC lol, but I'll pick up a HobbyWing 880 from the hobby store and order some steel pinion gears if I don't have a matching set in my pile. The body I'm not worried about, but I do like the Traxxas Bigfoot 8 body, so I might go with that if the price is right. Now for the hard to get parts: I would need 2 chassis parts and 2 C parts. These seem to be the hardest to find in the USA and Canada. I can get them shipped from Hong Kong or whatever, but I will end up paying much more for it. The TL01 upright sprue I'm not worried about, at least some places have them.
  6. I would like to have 4wd, but it should be an easy conversion if I get my hands on any of the WT-01 2wd trucks. I have a list of parts now, but some parts have been in temporarily out of stock purgatory.
  7. As some of you know from another thread, I regret not buying a WR-01 when I had the chance. The prices for a used model are high if found near me and on flea bay it's well... even more idiotic for a used example. So I figure why not choose the other idiotic approach to obtain a discontinued WR-01? I could build one from mostly new factory and upgraded parts, which would technically make it a new truck. As crazy as this sounds, I did the same thing with my TL01, so it may be cheaper than spending around $450 on a used worn out pile of trash. I'll start working on a list, lol. As of now this is just a discussion, but if it becomes a build I'll request to move the thread to "The Builds".
  8. I've forgot about that one. Also I would love to get my hands on a TXT-1, but it's steep price prevented me from buying one.
  9. An old man once told me: "Once you reach a certain age, you need forget the old stuff to make room for learning the new stuff". I'm nowhere near your age, but I have skills in things that I did in the past that takes a good jump start for the memory to kick in. It's like riding a bike, except it's like the brain needs to look back in a large book of memories and locate the page.
  10. 😲No way! I wonder if they have shipped to the hobby shops yet🤔. I know one that has a few on order.
  11. I'm sure at least some of us regret missing out on an RC model series that is now gone and no longer in production. For me it's the WR-01 AKA the Dagger platform. Over the years I have watched these dual motor trucks come and go with different names and bodies, thinking to my self that one day I'll give one of them a try, but from the Wild Dagger to the release of Dual Hunter, I never made the effort to get one. You know what they say? "You snooze, you loose." Who else missed the boat and has regrets?
  12. I'm so tempted to buy a CC02, but I must hold back.
  13. File the hub, easy fix.
  14. Best wishes, get well soon.
  15. I have a Tamiya Hilux Monster Racer/King Cab for sale (it could be a King Cab with a Stadium Blitzer body). It does have some condition issues like a crack in the chassis, scratches and scrapes and a repair to the transmission. Really it's what you see is what you get. My plan was to make it a refurbished very lightly ran runner, but due to the issues of tracking down parts and my growing collection I've decided to sell this truck and make room for new projects. I'm asking $160 or best offer for it, cash only, pick up only at a public place in northern Jersey. DM me if you are interested in buying.
  16. Unless I'm shopping on ebay, as of right now I only do deals in cash and in person for any used or second hand items or items that I'm selling.
  17. I went to work, had soup and rice for lunch.
  18. TT02B with big tires.
  19. I'm gonna say it depends. Why? Some of use know what we are getting into and sometimes will deal with extra complexity as long as the goal achieved. An example would be scalers and crawlers. We go to the extreme to make things look as much like the real thing as possible that repairs and servicing the model becomes a pain, even though we do what we can to simplify things, but that's the sacrifice we made and is what we signed up for. For most of the other RC's simplicity is better, but does not always mean better QOL. Take my RC10 B3 for example, it's never used anymore even though it's easy to work on and accepts the standard electronics. Why? Every time I have it at the track it breaks ending my session short. It's not fun when all I do is break control arms, bulkhead braces and shock towers all the time, it's just a money pit and I need to wait for spare parts to ship. A "race" buggy should hold up to normal race track practice, but it could just be me. Lol, my Hotshot 2 held up better.
  20. Yeah, I put those rear lunchbox tires on it, the old tires were almost slicks. I did have it as a fully functional car at one point, but because of the scarcity of parts, it eventually went into storage. I did have plans for it, but it's just not worth time. Also my collection has grown bigger than I want and I need room for new stuff.
  21. Oh wow! An 1/8th of an inch is a large gap, hopefully the new tires fit better.
  22. Once you glue them they should not be loose, maybe use some zip ties or a strap or those tire band thingies after applying the glue. Also I've heard shoe goo can be used for these lower speed applications.
  23. HECK yeah! Very cool. They are cheap and plenty. I have 2 Hoppers and 2 but soon to be 3 Hornets. Sand Hornet Scorcher Beetle hopper Vintage modded Hornet. The stock-ish OG Grasshopper is on the shelf behind the Hornet.
  24. Here it is. Due to the condition and the parts rarity, I really don't want to bother restoring it. Also, if parts were very easy to get, it would make a good light runner. It's got a crack in the chassis, the control arms are a bit chewed, scratches on the bottom and the transmission has a custom repair, so it definitely has condition issues. Is it a Hilux Monster Racer or a Nissan King Cab? It probably does not matter. I'll probably make a for sale thread in the future maybe.
  25. Oh the UK, that's a bit too far, even if I decide to ship it. Give me some time, I'll see if I can get it out for a photo.
