  1. Would this battery be ok for my ESC/Motor? And would it be ok on XT60 connectors?
  2. Any particular reason why not? Aren't nearly all Lipos made in China? I thought Ovonic were a reputable brand? Who would you recommend ?
  3. If I go down the Lipo route would this be suitable: This is the motor I have in Purple.
  4. They key is the mount itself, i allows you to fit any spur gear so you can change the gears from the Tamiya mod .6 to 48p or 64p which are more common. So if used a 48p or 64p pinion would I need to replace the spur gear to match the pitch of the pinion?
  5. Thanks Is this the high speed gearset you are referring to: TAMIYA TAM54500 Accessories for kits 54500 Replacement Part TT-02 High Speed Transmission Set, Black (comes with 69 tooth spur) I have an adjustable metal mount ordered. When you mentioned reducing the pinion if motor is hot after a few mins I presume that means try a 18t and so on. Can someone please explain what's the relationship between the motor mount position (as in A,B.C,D in diagram above) to the pinion teeth? Is it just that a 19 tooth pinion has a slightly larger diameter and therefore has to be offset slightly by the motor mount?
  6. thanks for the info but I have no idea how to calculate FDR? Below is from the manual for the Neo Scorcher. At the moment I have B which states a ratio of 10.71:1 but that is the IDR ?? I though the FDR was the IDR x IGR. How do I tell what my IGR is?? Or am I talking total *****s?
  7. thanks for the replies. I'll purchase a bigger battery and swap the tamiya plugs to XT60's as I've ordered some in case I move over to LIPO at some point. I am sticking a Robinson Racing 0.6Mod 19 Tooth Pinion on so would this be recommended? Is there an easy way to work out gearing ratio's? How do I know how long to run the motor safely? Is it just a matter of checking the ESC and motor temps by touch and if it feels to hot then let it cool down or of the motor is hot is it an indication that its not geared correctly or something else?
  8. Hi, I just bought a brushless motor Surpass Hobby Rocket V3 10.5t and a HobbyWing 10BL120 ESC and I am wandering if I need to upgrade my batteries to LIPO? Would an Nimh Overlander 3300mah 7.2v be sufficient? Is there a formula that will tell me yes or No? thanks in advance
