  1. @markbt73 thank you mate, very helpful, all 3 of my local hobby shops have Traxxas pinions, but the instant I heard that I had second thoughts about them. One has stock of RW racing pinions and another has Tornado pinions. I'll see how the RW ones go and keep you all updated on how they go. Thanks again guys, this forum has proven to be so educational and helpful, you guys rock 🤘
  2. @TurnipJF thanks for the info there, I was about to ask that very question. I read in another thread on here someone saying the Traxxas 18T 32dp pinion making his GH noisy. Wonder if her had suoer keen hearing or if it really was a loud pinion. Especially after you saying it made you're a little noisier. Thanks again
  3. Thanks for the link mate, also another great option 👍
  4. Thanks Kol appreciate that, I've recently picked up some hard to find CW01 spring mounts from TTP, great service, will check that out, thanks 😃
  5. Hi @TurnipJF and @ABigChungus Thanks for the tips guys, I really appreciate it, but I've just hit another hurdle. Now that I've found out I don't need a mounting plate for the 540 Torque Tuned with 18T Pinion. I tried to fit it and the pinion gears don't reach the cog in the gear box, see the pics. I also have a 19T (slightly larger diameter) still no luck. Did some research and found its the pitch of the SP-355 pinions I'm using that's too small. So now I know I need a new pinion, does anyone have any preferences or experience with one pinion over the other for quality etc. Thanks again for everyone's help.
  6. Skom25 Wow if only I kept moving through the instructions, haha what a faceplate on my part. Thanks buddy you're a champion, so I guess the answer is you simply bolt it directly to the gearbox. But in my defence how was I to know the instructions would speak of Hop Up Options hahahahaha far-out!!! Do I feel stupid now. Thanks again 🙂
  7. Hey everyone New to the forum, I've been a Tamiya fan since I was a kid and now middle aged guy who is getting back into the hobby with a passion. I got back into the hobby recently by finding and building a ReRe Grasshopper, kept it stock, trying to find a GH Candy Green edn to mod the shocks with some 3d printed parts and oil dampers. I alsi have a few kits I've been buying over the months but haven't had time to put them together til now, so I have a ReRe Grasshopper II black edition, Wild One, Hornet, Frog and a few other kits, just haven't had time to build any haha. But I have a question about motor mounts for an upgraded motor n my rere-GH II. ---------------------- TL:DR What motor mount is used for a Torque Tuned 540 in a rere Grasshopper II cos the 380 silver can kit supplied motor mount doesn't fit. ‐-------------------- Long version: Picked up a cheap Grasshopper II Black Edition and started to build it this past weekend. I wanted a more powerful motor but nothing over the top, so I bought a Torque Tuned 540 to put in it. I went to put it in and realised the motor mount doesn't fit. I searched high and low but only found some thin fibrous gasket looking mounts that was recommended in a rere Grasshopper post in this forum, it's the Tamiya 4305125. I watched a video of a guy upgrading his on YT but he didn't fit a motor mount at all and bolted it straight onto the gearbox/drive train assembly. My question is, is it that straight forward with motor upgrades? As in, you don't use a motor mount, instead you just bolt it directly to the gearbox, or at most use the gasket looking mount to keep dust out, or am I missing something? Sorry for the dumb question everyone, but I can't seem to find anything anywhere discussing the use of a motor mount when upgrading from the 380 stock silver can to the Sports or Torque Tuned 540. I know there's the LunchBox CW01 motor mount, but that doesn't appear to me as being a right fit. Then there's the Tamiya aluminium motor mounts for the TT02, which I don't think would fit the GH II. But I am always happy to be wrong, especially considering I'm quite new to the ReRelease scene. Oh and there's also those generic eBay, AliEx, Amazon motor mounts. So is anyone able to help this confused old guy out haha I appreciate everyone's help in advance and look forward to getting to know some of you fellow enthusiasts and Tamiya lovers. Thanks everyone
