So, What Have You Done Today? (Vol 2 2025)
JC614 replied to CoolHands's topic in General discussions
I cut the body on my CC02 ready for higher clearance bumpers. Not today, but I also had some bits come in for the roof for a little bit of detail, sand ladders and roof box. Also bought another RC but not a Tamiya, that I kept stock for about 4 hours. -

Today I've been messing with a new bumper mount for my CC02 LC300. I'm planning a front bullbar and needed a way to mount the part to the chassis, so I replaced the factory front bumper with this part that I printed. It's a 2-piece part so I can remove the front support when I cut the shell for the bullbar, the front part is designed to support the factory bodyshell. -

Last week I switched my locked diff parts to open on the front axle of my CC-02 LC300 and filled it with silicone earplug to see if I could create an LSD effect. Got a chance to test it out, turned out to run pretty well and now have a much tighter turning circle. -
@Beetlemankurt thanks mate, the forum is great and I'm using whatever is here as resources for the build.

Cheers folks, it's been a fun ride so far. A few more mods are in the works but I think I'll start a build thread to log all progress. @yogi-bear nice one, I used to live in Coolum a few years back. The new tyres aren't as good as the crawlers I had on prior, but the same trail is now more challenging which adds to the enjoyment. More importantly they're much better than the tyres Tamiya decided to throw into the kit. @TurnipJF I'm planning on doing those two next, I've installed some diff and centre belly skid plates and have noticed that the clearance has reduced but they've done the job so far on the terrain that I can skip over. I'm tossing up between YR, GPM and Eagle. @JimBear agreed, I do miss seeing cool box art of a lot of their older stuff (talking about the static scale models though) but I think that goes for quite a few companies now judging by what I saw at a hobby shop and the factory box photo doesn't do the 300 justice, but I'm a sucker for Land Cruisers so that could also be playing a part haha. @RichieRich cheers, I think it may be possible as I've seen people throw on the Tamiya N80 Hilux shell onto a CC-02 chassis, maybe it's the short version like a Bronco? I'm pretty sure the Hilux is a CC-01.

Thanks for the warm welcomes! I've always preferred communicating on forums as opposed to the socials and have been checking out lots of different builds here. @mtbkym01 my other purchases are for a project car, so this one my wife's not too fussed by (yet!). @yogi-bear This is in the Royal National Park, the trail spots that are closest to me in South Sydney. Funnily I'll be doing the Blue Mountains this weekend, can't wait! I was thinking of changing everything under the chassis to metal counterparts but that adds up quick. This week I swapped the wheels over with some heavier beadlocks and stickier, slightly smaller tyres compared to the picture. Can't wait to test them out.

Hello folks, New guy around here from Australia. I've always been fascinated by rc cars and more so Tamiya since I was a kid. Fast forward 30 years and I bought my first one. It's a Land Cruiser 300 on a CC-02L chassis. Pretty stock, aside from some parts that I've been mucking around with from the 3D printer and some new wheels and tyres. The wheels and tyres in the photo have been replaced, just going for a bit more weight down low and new tyres for a more scale look. Hoping to learn more about this chassis and what it can and can't do. So far it's been a lot of fun out on the trails.
