  1. That's awesome I saw the other day one on I ,75 hanging on the back of a mobile camper the fuel tank needed paint but overall condition was pretty good , I'm not done yet restoring the kyosho 1/4 Yamaha yz250 but I will eventually, the engine was cleaned and it's ready have a lot of compression
  2. Yes, it's just as the real wheels, threaded nipples and everything,I don't think there's a so realistic RC dirt bike in history than this, the rear wheel have a fully functional drum brake just as the real Yamaha, also I have to center the front wheel which is a little bit unbalanced and the way you do it is just as the way you do it on a real wheel
  3. I'm not starting yet the mod and upgrading, just collecting things I need ,I want to finish first the kyosho quad rider,I'll post some pictures what I have done so far but I want to find more realistic wheels and tires, then I'm working as well on my recently acquired kyosho/Graupner Yamaha yz 250 which I posted here too,the RadioShack Yamaha will be upgraded with a Traxxas t maxx engine , transmission and front diff, for the rear axle y have to upgrade the gearing inside ,the real Yamaha raptor it's not 4WD but I want to keep the RadioShack as 4WD as it came from factory, the new Bright will get a kyosho atv quad rear axle with the chain and a HPI engine,a lot of work still coming
  4. I'm involved in a couple of projects with RC ATV quads, the kyosho quad rider, RadioShack Yamaha raptor and two new Bright ones, the Kawasaki and the bombardier, the kyosho quad rider it's almost finished,I shortened also the axle in order to make it look more scale,I'm always thought the axle was too large, badword of a job that day but I made it happen at the end RadioShack and new Bright they sold the Yamaha and the Kawasaki as 1/5 , I don't believe it, kyosho atv quad is 1/4 and it's smaller compared with the other two,I think Yamaha and Kawasaki are 1/3 scale, they're monster ,or kyosho never was 1/4 scale and instead was 1/5 scale and the other ATV are in fact quarter scale
  5. Hi everyone this is my new restoration from the kyosho/ Graupner Yamaha yz 250 from 1979-1980?front tire came from the RadioShack Rickey Carmichael Honda CR 250 and rear from duratrax dx 450, I think I hit the mud with the duratrax tire, losi promoto mx and x-rider Sagittarius were too big,not mentioning the venom vmx tire which is too big as well ,engine was dirt and seized but I cleaned it up and engine now turning good and with a lot of compression,I had to split the engine in PCs in order to deep clean it , still working on it but overall condition from the bike is nice,it came from Germany and was saved in a box since mid 80's so the bike wasn't used too much (lucky me)I'm working upgrading to nitro as well the RadioShack Rickey Carmichael Honda CR 250,it will be in another topic here
  6. Hi,and Happy New Year mate,I been working on one in order to restore it,so far bike came from Germany in one piece but engine was seized now it's clean turning and with good compression, talking about the tires, mine came with the two (front and rear) rubber stripes and I joint them with glue but I didn't like it,so after buying the losi promoto mx rear tire (it was too big)the x-rider Sagittarius rear tire(too big as well) I try one more time and bought the duratrax dx450 rear tire and it fit perfectly! At first I thought it was too short but with patience and carefully you can make it work, that's the only time I believe fit in there buddy, below the pictures with the kyosho Yamaha yz 250 with the duratrax rear tire,as you can see it fit nicely, the insert from the one where the original stock tire from kyosho is mounted is from the x-rider rear tire, Kyosho inserts were too soft and little bit dry rot because the lot of years on them ,bike was storage in a box since 1985,but duratrax tire in my point of view look much better, take your time to mount it , remember wheels rims are plastic, you don't want to break it,im leaving you the link for the tire on eBay,seller is top notch and he is aware already the tire fit in the yamaha yz 250,I told him,oh by the way ,the front tire you can see in the picture provided showing the bike it's from the RadioShack 1/4 Rickey Carmichael Honda CR250 which fit straight using the same compound from kyosho https://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/uploads/monthly_2025_01/IMG_20241230_143708.jpg.c26cec304cf089a8431fe943c36622a4.jpg
