Sorry, It came on harder than was ment to...[:I]
It was just some of the stuff I' ve read here...
Of course one makes mistakes if not been told the right way " how to..."
This IS a perfect forum for learning, I have no excuse writing what I did...
[:I] Sorry once again...
Been stupid myself using caustic soda;
I had a Ambassadeur baitreel, and wanted to paint it in an another color. Put the whole reel into a jar with c.soda, forgetting the reel' s made of aluminium.
Exit baitreel!!! [
]LOL
The white stuff is oxide? That's left on the plastic body?
Read some saying toothpaste works...
My apologies for the previous reply, really, I am a nice guy, I just lost it for awhile...

Still, all the best, hope You guys didn't get too upset about it. If You did, write, in anger, back to me. I deserve it.

Hi all,
this is my final saying in this topic...
NaOh is great for removing paint.
If You don't be aware of the danger involved; don't use the stuff...
If You' re intelligent and use the stuff properly, there's little danger involved.
When using caustic chemicals, like NaOh, or brakefluid, there's always an element of danger.
Be a man, if You don't know the correct procedure involved, DON'T USE IT!!!
How hard can it be?
Are all US and UK people stupid?
When using chemicals, in any way, it's kind of dangerous!
Pour a litre of NaCl, SALT, on Your food and then try to eat it????
Grow up, use chemicals with the proper precautions, and there's no, or little, danger to it...

Hi Neogeo...
Don't know of any sites for this,
but I am to make my own design for a car-body to my ta03f...
Will send You some kind of report when finished...
All the best,

ok, thank's...
I'm to make a test with different motors to make a graph of it all...
Will also try some brushless motors...

Hi all, again...
Thinkimg of a frame, reinforced with aluminium...
To the TA03...
It's ****ing funny, BTW, clocked a Kyoshu ReadyDrive the other day...
Best time, with a flying start, was 23 km/h...
Not much!!![
]I'm sure my ta03 with some mod's. will go much faster...
Go out and dominate...

Quite right!
I'm so used to the stuff, I kinda forgot [:I] the dangers involved with it...
I also have nearly destroyed the kitchen, but that's when I am cooking...[

ok, I got the general idea.
Bachman Turner Overdrive made a song, back in the 70's: Four wheel drive...[
]It seems like it's better to run 4WD constantly, instead...
Or, is there a way to make the 4wd force to be, say, 60-40/rear-front?
And then disable the diff on the rear?

Hi all,
this is a fun topic.
I am to build a TA03F, and going to modify it like badword...
Just for the fun of it...
There's one topic I haven't find yet:
Anybody tried brushless motors on a TA03?

Hi,
there's only one way to get rid of bugs in windows...
first, when You know Your computer's clean, make a cd with all needed programs and drivers etc.
second, don't never have anything important on any drive, always make cd's...
third, once a month, or when needed, format Your c: drive, then fdisk it somewhat differently than before, and use the program wipeinfo to overwrite the drive totally with 1's and 0's...
finally, reinstall windows...
after a few tries, it's doesn't take more than, say, 35 minutes.
All the best,
Jakob

Dear Big Few, welcome to TC.
look in ...hints and tips...
topics "warning" and "how to remove.."
Maybe somewhere else as well...
All the best,
Jakob

Thanks WillyChang,
do You think it's better, for some reason, to make a TA03R instead of having the motor at front?
Jakob
-
Hi all,
is it possible to switch the front end with the rear end of a TA03F in order to make it a TA03R?
All the best,
Jakob

One logical step in real F1 would be 4WD.
You can make things with four wheels you can't with two...[

Sorry to read about Your accident, Fasterthebetter.
We've had some discussion of this, causticsoda, and everybody says it's dangerous...
There's a topic here, "how to get rid of paint...", where it clearly states the using of causticsoda needs a lot of causion.
But, what made the "explosion"?
I freqvently use 99,9% pure NaOh, both for paint-removal and to clean our toilet, shower, owen, etc., and never run into trouble.
Also we used the stuff at chemistry-classes back in school, and I can't remember any accident's.
Still, sorry to read about all the accident's...
Maybe it's better to use something else, instead?...
All the best to You all,
Jakob

Hi all,
found this site on brushless motors.
Now, what is this?
Fast? Faster than others?
Will they work on a TA03F?
Expensive?
If anyone has some information, please post it!
Have fun, love to hear from You all...

Thanks Martin, and everybody,
I will try the wood/lexan/vacuum- thing...

Hi all,
yes, want to built something totally different.
I had a feeling of that fibreglass will be heavy, what to use instead?
All the best,

Hi again,
forgot something:
When pouring acid, or, base, in water;
always pour the acid/base into water, not water on acid/base.
The reaction with water will cause a powerful reaction.
I am sorry I took up the subject with caustic soda, maybe there are some other products that will remove paint.
Brakefluid can be one, but this is, actually, not something we would want in the nature.
Anyhow, if You use NaOh, be very careful, maybe check it out with some teacher in chemistry before using it.
The stuff is dangerous...

Hi all,
yes, it's caustic soda, wasn't shore of what it's called in english, hence the chemical name, NaOh...
And yes, it's very dangerous, I hope You all understood this from my reply...
NaOh will melt nails, hair etc. Don't use it, if You, in any way, are not used to deal with this kind of chemicals.
Even then, be very careful, as it's very harmful.
Not to biological life, though. It will dissolve, in nature, within some three days, or so.
Water always neutralizes acid and base, chemically.
But no-one of us want's to harm nature, this is basic, so using NaOh must be done with moderation in mind.
But, if used in a intelligent manner, it also will remove paint.
Once again, NaOh, caustic soda, is dangerous and must be treated with respect and causion.
Don't get me wrong here, I was only trying to help out with the paint-removal...
If there's something less dangerous, use it instead...
All ther best,
Jakob Kuhlstroem

Hi all,
I am to built a TA03F Impreza...
But, also, trying to make my own body to it...
Fibreglass and so on...
Anybody else who has done this?
Maybe some hints on the subject?
All the best,
Jakob Kuhlstroem

Hi...
In general, the use of NaOh is good if no aluminium is involved.
Haven't tried this myself on plastics, but it should work.
Desolve NaOh in water, quite hot water, and then, with a brush or similar, paint small parts of the body with this.
Wipe it of with a good deal of water.
Can't quarantee it works, never tried it before, so be careful both with the carbody, and Yourself, since it has a very low pH.
Use rubbergloves or something similar. NaOh is very dangerous, it will melt nails, hair etc.
Don't know the commercial name for the product in the UK or the USA, but in Sweden it's, among other things, used for cleaning toilets, showers etc.
Try it on something worthless first, and be really careful...
Hope it will remove the paint for You...
Best regards,
Jakob Kuhlstroem

Hello again,
yes, I will use bearings before I do anything else.
Next week, or perhaps the week after the car will be ready.
I have some essencial striping still to do, and the guy helping me with the laser-cutter has, as I right now, his vacation.
I' ve started to seek mod. motors.
Chameleon 2 pro, 19T?
And, funny, [
], I found an old Kyoshu LeMans 380 in the garage.Anyhow, I will make some kind of a benchmark with all the different parts, and then mail it to this site...
Have fun, and all the best,
Jakob Kuhlstroem

I do it like this:
First making the shape of the body using balsa-wood, or plaster. Whatever that's easy to shape. Even clay used for pottery etc. will do.
The smooth it down using sandpaper. It must be really smooth.
After that covering it with fibreglass/hardener.
Then the tricky part:
Finding some company specialized in vacuum-molding of plastics.
The mould, described above, is what the polybarbonate-sheet will be, with vacuum and heat, "sucked" into.
When all this is done, just painting it as any other body, prefebly on the inside.
It's kind of tricky to get the mold perfect, but I am sure You can do it, after a couple of times practising.
