  1. For me a 3 speed either a toyota tundra or a glodeliner or kinghauler full hop up option. Out of my price range A topforce evo A willys wheeler awaing the version Funny thought I ain't the only one saying that tamiya wanted kits are getting out of peoples price ranges
  2. i ordered some hornet parts from my lhs 5 weeks ago seeing my car decided to give up the ghost. i coild'nt get to my lhs so i rang them a week and a half later to see if my order had came in and the guy there told me this story then and i thought oh yeh right ok. just an excuss as my order had not came in but he turned out to be telling the truth. lol
  3. I managed to fit traxxas jato wheels with proline tyres on my stadium blitzer just had to replace the nuts without the washers built on them
  4. Yeah that's the one man its good to see that again it was that build thread that made me buy one a few years back witch I still have to build myself. Thanks very much for finding that
  5. Are they the ones (tyres) that come on the rs4 mt cause if so I just happen to have one sitting around unused
  6. Does anyone remember the tc member who painted his pumkin a candy green with the bed highlighted in wood as it is the best example of a pumkin I have seen. Its been a year or so since I last saw it a it would be nice to see some pics of it again if anyone can help that would be great
  7. Yeah I recently started useing tamiya masking tape and found it to be brilliant if you have seen a colour you want in halfords then use it but don't forget to clear coat it after
  8. I never tend to use the kit tyres as they don't last long I have already got a set of traxxas wheels and am waiting for the tyres to turn up until then my staduim blitzer stays on the shelf
  9. I have'nt seen a smooth brush on paint tbh just mask off the area you want to paint and use a rattle can instead
  10. what ever happened to seb air brush i think he is/was located in canada he did some of the best shells i have seen
  11. i really feel for you guys in austrialia as in my eyes one of the best parts to this hobby is going to your lhs and personally getting your rc kit and handing over the money and if your lucky getting a bit of change back. i think our biggest loss was beatties they was a massive stockist of tamiya (i brought my first kit from them (hornet) on my 18th b-day) the biggest store was in the old bull ring shopping centre in birmingham but since the revamp of it it has long gone along with all the other ones also. i am a bit lucky tbh as my lhs is a small one but does had a fair few tamiya kits and xp built also but on the other hand dont keep hardly any spares but they do order and it is normaly their in a week so for me thats fine i do have a few other hobby shop with in about the same distance as my lhs but i dont bother with them as they have the attitude problem. i dont like to order of the internet tbh as i prefare the personal sevice of my lhs and also i want them to stay in buisness. most of use are our own worst enemy when it comes to lhs closeing down as thery prefare the internet to the hobby shop.
  12. for me the best thing is the build and the paint i just remembered about the f1's what are they like
  13. i used to use my massive head bag until my bro lent it and gave me his smaller head bag but i never saw it again so i use the boot of my car know
  14. surprised to hear your selling them but nice to see your expanding the range can't wait to see them 2 go
  15. yeah ive thought of poping in again to see if the place had changed but aint had the chance yet will make the effort as for the bashing sesion let me know just give me a text
  16. hello mate if you aint been in there i would'nt bother i know a few who have been there and they have said dont bother they are not nice people who run it i think i went in there a few years back and i turned around a walked back out again as they didnt sell tamiya or traxxas or hpi. dont know if thats still the case
  17. tbh if i want a good off/on roader i have my traxxas revo for that everthing i have asked of that since i brought it when it first came out in the uk and has never let me down except the gutter incedent seen to the front end in bits weather i will use this last kit i buy well i dont know yet. i dont want another on roader as i have my tt-01 for that im not in a club and dont plan on joining one tbh i only really ever go for a bash mainly on car parks but having said that i mainly use the ww2 or lunchbox as they are too much fun not to use. the others i have i dont use that much (topforce manta ray hornet sand scorcher buggy champ) i need to fill a gap in what i already have yes i like the avante black special and the bruiser i also like the toyota tundra also but i know there is a fair few i have forgot about also if i go for a 3 speed or a truck onsider the price of the mfu and the control also.
  18. i am planning on getting a new tamiya rc but seeing the price of rc kits at the present time i am almost certain it will be my last one i will buy i am not pleased about this but what can u do. know i want it to be sumthing special. i cant make up my mind as to a 3 speed pickup or a truck and trailer or a buggy (would love a topforce evo). any ideas or help also what would u do in the same situation
  19. i would love to paint it for you but the prob is i live in the uk and that dont help matters. know for me the best parts of builing a kit is the paint scheme. dont be intimidated ovet it if you have never done one before just go ahead and try you might surprise yourself. dont forget everyone has to start somewhere dont worry if it turns out a mess i am sure u can get another shell anyway just go and give it a go but if u need any help there are plenty of uploads on utube of shells being prepared and painted.
  20. you've never seen malcolm i cant beleive that i would have thought every tc member would have seen that as there is a sand scorcher used in the film along with a few other tamiya's i have lost count how many times i have watched it
  21. what about the music from the film malcolm its buy the penguin cafe orchestra.
  22. heyyyy that drawer and s/s looks a bit familer. lol glad its gone to a good use
  23. same here i only used to spend around the 100gbp mark but the shock started 2 weeks back when i went into my lhs and saw the vw t1 wheelie sellind for 190gbp i asked if he was taking the p..s and it based on the ww2 and i only payed 125 for that just over a year back
  24. i have decided to treat myself to a new rc. i one i want is the toyota tundra so i go online to find the price from my lhs they dont hve one so i go else where and i tell you i go the shock of my life. all in with the multifunction unit and the trany will cost me upwards of 700 gbp's know the last one i brought was the re re sandscorcher. i also brought the buggy champ and a wild williy 2 know i payed around 700 gbp for all 3. anyway i thought i no way am i paying that for the tundra so i think ok i'll go for a traxxas instead turns out the one i wanted cost the same 700 so that is not gonna happen either. know i prefere to buy from my lhs and not on line tbh but the prices i have been looking at on various model shops all in the uk are around the same. i just cant believe the price increase on the kits over the last year or so. has anyone else had the same shock
  25. i seem to remember seeing a track built in the back grounds of a pub in smetwick not far from winson green prison. now this was a year or so back so i dont know if its still there. you could pay a fiver or a tenna and race/bash all day they have covered pits.
