that red looks like it is backed(base coat) with black.
and kudos on using specialist paints i painted one of my trucks useing their paint and cant not fault it tbh the 2k is fantasic you will need to get it sprayed in a day as it will tend to go of in the can after that
i would never use tamiya paint again after my first truck i used tamiya paint the paint cracked all over and i can tell you when replaceing a truck shell and all parts it gets expensive at around 1/2 the price of the kit the car is also paint with kustom canz
the finish on the truck is as from the can with out the need to sand or polish the 2k coat in any way it lays down that good

i dont mind having a go at them tbh first of spread you fingers over the cone and gentle push done on it and see if you feel/hear any rubbing from the voice coil if thats ok search the size of the replacement foams / or rubber ones if you can get them
this is the glue i use...https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1311&_nkw=t7000+black+glue&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_odkw=T7000+Black+Rubber+Surrounds+Repairs+Spare+Foam&_osacat=0
here is the foam surrounds some come with the glue also ....https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&_nkw=foam+speaker+surround+repair&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_odkw=foam+Surrounds+Repairs+Spare+Foam&_osacat=0

On the one in your photo with the pegs around it is that drying out? Looks like youve done a great job of those.
yeah i know what you mean with the dust cone you can take that of to shim the voice coil to keep it central so it won't rub but you dont need to do that tbh i did the first time but since then i dont bother with that anymore
i also watched u-tube video's from the place where i brought my first foams from (springfield speakers repairs) in the U.S.A but i tryed to order the foams for the memorex's bu they wont ship outside the U.S.A anymore
and yes the one with the pegs all round it is to keep it down whilst drying as the foam tends to curl up so i found this method i use a great aid but for when its time to glue it on the cone you have to keep pushing it down until it stays flat. i have had glue bleed on my first time but on the 4 i recently did and the ones before that i was lucky with no bleed.
the ones you took out will still work and prob sound better than what you have replaced them with but if your happy with the result

i have done a load with my last lot being 4 15" subs
and these will be going up for sale soon as i dont need them know even though i was trying to buy these from my mate for 20 years and he finally gave in last year due to the foams and his other half i even said i would give him a pair back and he could put them in his snooker room but i think he dont want to upset the other half i would love to keep them but i already have a pair of realistic mach 2's that i like better
shame i aint been on here for a long time as i would have offered to re foam them for you instead of replaceing them

As for playing the piano, that'd be my wife
ouch.... but i know your pain as i have had 5 of them done in the past quite amazing though when you look at it unless you have to have them cap'd like i had to that is the worst esp with the temp caps they use until the replacement one is made esp if you have a filling on teeth above/below the afending tooth as i had a kind of shock from the temp caps used when i had mine done plus they keep comeing off also.
hope all is fine in the end for you

my son booked car show tickets for today as it was a le-mans theme show but when we get there it was on a pub car park with only one le-mans effort their so 5 mins and we was done so we came away but about 5 miles away from their we kept seeing 80's style trucks going past us so i said see if there was a truck show near where we was and yep it was a a car museum so we ended up going their instead while we was their we went to a food van as we had not eaten and we looked at the menu and for a single slice of bacon in a bap it was just under £6 so we said forget that but ended up at the motorway services enjoying a burger kind instead

In the 80s, they started to go cheap, to compete with the chinese made junk...
Here's a good start in your quest: https://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/sansui/hifi-buyers-guide.shtml

Take a look at the Techmoan YT channel for lots of interesting vintage electronics info - warning - it can be addictive...
i do watch techmoan videos and he has some nice stuff but a repairer he aint and he always says in his vids i have been watching a chap from canada for the past few years now called 12volt vids and i thought he was good until i saw this guy i have a few other stuff to give to him to repair also but he has told me their is a long wait atm but it will be more than worth it plus what he charged me for what he done in the video was really surprising.
i tend to only buy vintage hi-fi stuff esp speakers
the pots surprised me how bad they was esp as i have cleaned then with servisol spray mind he does say the action of them was good but the pins was what needed doing
hit sounds better also know

would love a sansui amp but would not know where to start
dont get rid of either of them they will keep appreciating in value

so i have been searching for a repairer for a couple of years know to repair/service my vintage pioneer sx550 amp and a few months back i stumbled upon a video on u-tube and i thought the accent sound familiar so i managed to get in touch with him and it turned out he was local to me.
after seeing how clean his work area is and all the machines and oscilloscope's he has that again look new i messaged him and he said i could drop it off to him.
he made a video of it witch is great (for me anyway) esp seeing my amp took to pieces and repaired
some of the things i see him do just blows my mind like in his other videos he rewinds and power transformer and in my he silver plates the power switch contacts just amazing
if that is something that flouts your boat go and take a look at it and some of the other ones he has done
i already have the next item witch is a tape deck ready to go to him

Been to see my mate for the first time this year and while I was there he asked me if I wanted his speakers he don't use anymore and since I gave been trying to get them for over ten years the answer was YES please then he said how much he wanted for them and i nearly fell through the floor at £10 each i quickly loaded them into the car . Best thing is i was with him when he purchased them back in the Early 90's from the main tandy warehouse that just happened to he a mile from where i live. They will need the subs re-foaming but that's nothing to me know as i've done a few now just gotta find 4.. 15" foam surrounds these will go with the realistic mach 2 i already have

I wanted something that sounded, commanding ( if you know what I mean), but not air horn shouty, so looking at reviews and listening on YouTube, I went for the , hella supertone.
Fitted and tested and wasn't overly impressed, which was kind of confirmed, when I received a message off my wife...
So, I've a pair of ,Piaa snail horns to test now....
train horn train horn TRAIN HORN you wont get a text like that again plus when fitted ask the wife to come and listen to how it sounds then just as she gets there let rip and she how far she jumps

Then tomorrow afternoon when they are gone, we are going on a trek to look at a wee toy for myself in a Renault 5 GT Turbo Raider Edition. Completely standard and in soft restored condition, pretty much as the picture below. 👍
Have always wanted one when I was younger but never had the chance until now. So sod it .... 👍😋
Then Sunday will be a chilled day watching the Moto GP with some beers and a dram or two 😉
James.
the unicorn a raider i have drove a few of the little pocket rockets in the past and seeing they are only a 1.4ltr they do shift

If I was deciding on a truck name, I'd call it "Altered Carbon"
agreed what a great name esp if you have seen the series on netflix only the first season though
for me i had a load of autoglym cleaning stuff this week and one of them is a ceramic coating so i may give it a try on my recently recommissioned 1.1 car
so that may be all i do over the weekend
and my son and grand daughter will be down on sunday and staying for a few days as its his b-day in the week

so i managed to do a bit on my 1.1 car on sunday in between the rain
then monday me and my son mostly my son got the car ready for for the garage ready for the MOT did all the service stuff and cleaned it checked the lights and the rear offside indicator was not working and after we found out how to take the light cluster out i pulled the bulb and it was not gone so cleaned it and popped it back in and it worked so put that back together then i was resetting the one touch windows and the rear window regulator clip broke and the glass dropped and the noise it made i thought the glass had broke but luckly not so the good old bodge with a piece of wood came into play and ordered a new one plus a repair kit just incase .
so took it in today and left it with the garage when my son came back from work he checked on line and said it passed with a few advisory's witch will be sorted before i take it back
really cant believe it passed seeing how long it has been sorn
