  1. me being a big fan of traxxas i really like the look of it and if it does sell for that much witch i dowt it will it will be one of traxxas cheapest rc's.

still a huge fan of tamiya thought more than traxxas. even thought i and owned t-maxxs and revos. they all have ther different uses.

i knock the badword out of my revo and it just keeps on giving more. they are one hard truck to crack except if you might just happen to plant it into a huge gutter

2 times at w.o.t. then you might need a new front end lol

  2. i seem to remember my hornet being mental in stock form. even indoors esp when i went full wack from the living room door and ending up planting it under the tv cabinet and snaping the front suspension mount of and thus needing a new chassis and this was after bouncing it of my bros head who was asleep at the time on the floor very funny until this woke him up. and this was back in 1989. i will have to get my other hornet out of the loft and make it a runner once again and remember the fun thay are

  3. i dont have this problem with my topforce.

but what i would do is not push the aerial all the way down and just the metal housing (push it so it just sits about the to slits) so the the black wire the sits throught either 1 of the 2 slits but use a coloured aerial tube as they are a bit thicker than the stock clear tube. that way they wont go all the way down anyway. hope this helps you out

  4. yeh i also went to the model expo's also and the last one i attended i remember having to walk for at least 15 mins as all the car parks by ther venue was full and the one i pulled onto soon fill up as well.

it was a real shame it got cancelled.

but what about these 2 shows. i plan on going to the first one.

    click me

    and the second one

    click me.

dont know what they are like but i have been saying i will have to go to the second one for the past few years know and they both look the same to me so i will go to the first on as it is closer to me.

  5. i have the acoms chrome techniplus witch i brought back in the very earlly 90's and i still use it know works great and stills looks in very good nic also.

i did have the black tecniplus one back in 1988 when i got my first rc that was the hornet.

and hey good luck on the build hope every thing goes to plan seeing on the value of it. i would be scared ******** to build something of that value. but hey what the heck.

  6. i brought my re-rel tt-01 escort a few years back and i just built it and painted it the box art and then stuck it on top of my wardrobe

where i can admire it every time i am in bed and i will never use it. i also managed to get the schnitzher bmw shell and wheels for only 25 nib for it but i aint got round to painting it yet as i still enjoy staring at the escort. ;) i did have pics of it until my old computer cought a dredded virus and did,nt recover :) so i lost them all.

  7. there are a few models shop in my general area however alot of them are expensive. which ok compared to the likes of ebay its expected but some are generally ok. but alot of the time some of the stores workforce look to push a sale rather then give the advice your looking for. service is generally good to a point but when they have talked themself out of a sale for 1 item they tend to become rash and try to sell you anything.

i think the workforce in most models shops are not RC model collectors but merely model collectors and maybe not even that in some cases. and i think that is the let down with stores. that dont specialize in a give area of modelling but look at a whole aspect. they have limited knowledge is certain areas of what there dealing and it clearly shows.

obviously this is just my opinion and i think the reason for this opinion is the fact i more the type of person that likes people to step up and say i dont know rather then people pretending they do. and pretending they do is the type of feeling i get when speaking to model shop workers

hey Topforcein if youre still reading this thread what model shop are you talking about Penn Models i'm guessing ?

yes you would be correct in guessing it is PENN MODELS in kingswinford. i would'nt use anyone else. i find alex is one of the best to see in there.

i did used to use ace models in the arcade in dudley it self back in the early 90's untill they stoped selling tamiya for some reason?????.

  8. my lhs(lms) is perfect. when i walk in the door the owner greats me by using my last name :P and then i preseed to one of the chaps who works there and crack up a conversation with him (about rc stuff of course). i can spend a good hour or 2 in there as they have time to spend with there customers not that they arnt busy( they are) any help of advice i need i can be sure of getting it from there. i have a few hobby shops with in 30 to 45 mins drive of my house and i always use that one simply for the service i get.

i would recomend them to anyone. :)

  9. well here in the uk i used to run a car spares shop and i would'nt sell anything in a can to anyone under the age of 16 seeing it would be me getting the hefty fine if i was cought and its the same for my wife who works for asda (a wallmart company) they wont sell anything in a can (that could be sniffed) or games with a certain age on them well loads of stuff (to much to mention) really and i for one am in favour of it. all you have to do is tell them to get their parents to come and get it. that way you wont get done for selling something to a minor that they arnt surpose to be buying anyway.

  10. well in finally got my lunchbox when they was first re-released then last year i saw a midnight pumpkin metallic special so i had to buy that and when i saw that tamiya have done the lunchbox in the very beautiful gold edition i had to make a visit to my lhs to place a order for 1 and at the same time i also ordered a rover mini cooper racing kit to keep my going until the gold lb arrives. roll on the end of the month (i hope)

  11. first off great drift videos.  so if i put this certain motor on one of these esc's it will fry one. i also have a m-tronics esc i brought about 4 years back and haven't really used it tbh. but i don't want to use it as it don't have reverse. i think the best bet is to take the motor to my lhs and ask them what turn it is then i go from there. also the tyres that your using look like they have more grip than the ones that come in the yokomo drift kits. i did buy the hpi d1 tyres buy they have to much grip and have been banished to the back of my spares box.

  12. this is great news cause the wheels i was after last years was hpi wheels and they came with the adaptors in the pack but i could'nt check this as the lhs would'nt let me open the packet to see if they did fit. so it looks like a trip to the lhs on sat to see if they still have the wheels in stock. i will just have to check to see if the tryes fit first also
