I'm about to baja bug!

Congrats on the latest addition and finally becoming a scorcher owner. To try and answer your first question, From what i have been read, The shape of the hole for the motor has change a bit over the course of its production. In my scorcher a modern 540 wont fit at all, so i have to stick with a standard motor! If you want the motor to fit snugly inside the casing your are probably best off using a standard scorcher motor. Are you talking about your Toe-In or your wheel camber angles. -
Paint stripping - anyone ever tried this ?
Madmat replied to Tamiyabigstuff's topic in General discussions
I find its always best to use fresh brake fluid rather than stuff that has been sitting around for a while. The old stuff doesn't have the same punch as the new -
are there any real world rally Porsche Cayennes?
Madmat replied to Slyp Dawg's topic in Anything not RC related goes here
From what i can see there aint any racing cayennes, Well atleast in Paris-Dakar! I dont recall ever hearing of one either. I think it is being kept as more of a luxury item! -
Look in the "Vintage cars" section and then go into "Tamiya Mountaineer 4x4", It might be of some interest!
-
Cheers, I wasn't sure when i seen one in the gearbox caus' it looked to plain to be an option part!

oh toss.. I give up....I any one wants number seven just ask......It'll come with a hefty price though..... to the sum of one tamiyaclub t-shirt. -
I would highly recommend you try surfing, There's an amazing feeling when you catch a wave! If you're a good swimmer then there is nothin to worry about, you'll spend alot of your time gettin washed up on shore anyway :L, Usually i'm more worried about about monsterous jellyfish than anything else, It's also great for buildin up fitness levels from all the paddling!

I only had one of these stickers on the shell, I dont know why but thats how it came! i looked through my recent pics of it and unfortunately they're all of the otherside! What Luck! i'll have a look through all the pics and see if there is one with the sticker in it!

MY BAJA BUG!!! - pictures taken in 1988
Madmat replied to bimmerman's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Woah man, That is one of the nicest scorchers i've seen in a while, It's differnet but in a good way! -
My mistake i meant the the "black background 537" sticker! Matt
-
My scorcher has the "537" decal or atleast had it got taken off last week when i was brake fluiding the body!
-
Out side of the club i have a few other interests. I play the guitar, Bass and a small bit of Drums, I've been in a few different bands over the last couple years. Next to music i also like surfing and go pretty much whenever is possible. After this i am also a bit of a petrol head and interested in anything with an engine! Hopefully i will be starting college in september and doing a mechanical engineering course! I also like cycling!
-
You may also notice that the part above the rear license plate is different, Well atleast compared to what is on my scorcher!
-
No its actually true! Try this link.....It was my main source for the reasons as to the shortage. http://www.tapplastics.com/info/carbonnews.php If you want more proof http://www.fibreglast.com/carbonfibershortage http://www.shopmaninc.com/carbonpage.html http://ceriousperformance.com/ ( scroll down on this link) http://carb.com/ Hope this helps Saying this though not every were appears to be suffering ! Dont want to sound condescending in any way, But you do know that you can mold carbon fibre! using wet-lay techniques among others
-
Please could someone just say why this dang motor is so special......I've looked through loads of threads and havn't found an answer that makes any sense!
-
Not sure if anyone knew this but there is a worldwide shortage of Carbon Fibre at the moment! It is apparently all being used up by the aeronautical industry to make planes like the F-22 Raptor, Hurricane and the companies Airbus and Boeing. Found this out yesterday when i went looking for some! Most places are out of stock or limiting the amount you can purchase!

Cool, yet so uncool at the same time.

Madmat replied to Scorchio's topic in Anything not RC related goes here
