  1. Also in the second RR box, It is missing the window mesh featured in the first
  2. I think it's starting to get out hand at this stage all this re-re talk. When i started collecting tamiya models the word re-release was unfamiliar to me, now it is one of the most common words i see being used on the forums, when i joined tamiyaclub i joined it to find out tips, tricks and other generally Useful information and facts on vintage tamiyas, Not countless threads on Re-relaease speculation. Dont get me wrong i do like the fact of re-releases being around but i dont want to have to sift through useless threads on (never gonna happen) re-re's to try find useful threads. I know i am ranting on but i lost interest in threads on re-re's a long time ago. This topics run its course, just leave it be until tamiya puts a notice on their website stating that they are re-releasing a vintage model. till then i dont care lets just get back to the collecting and not seeing when is the best time to sell up your beloved collection so you can make a buck or two. Chris (or any of the moderators) if you read this why not make a re-release section or somewhere we can throw throw these useless threads
  3. Thanks for that, One more question though, Should i do that after every coat of paint?
  4. Ok, I have the basic jist of what happens, but can anyone enlighten me on how to get excellently smooth finishes using this method. I have been trying with my hilux project but am none to please with the result, I probably would have been better off use a rake after the finish i got[!]
  5. "You can take the man away from the Tamiya but you can't take the Tamiya away from the man" Dont worry you'll be back, You'll probably walk past your LHS see and see a sand scorcher Re-release in the window and just out of curiousity you will purchase it, and the whole cycle starts again[] Till then.
  6. I think it may be something to do with the cars coming out of tamiya of recent. Other than the ta05 chassis and re-releases, I cant think of anything new that is different in any extreme way other than the body, it seems like they are just making new bodies and sticking them on the different chassis' and calling it a new model. (Maybe its because they are working on the Re-Re Srb molds so much they are trying to put us off by sticking out these kits to put us off the scent [])
  7. quote:Originally posted by TipsyI think its a 1/6 scale nitro/petrol in Oceans 11. Just watched BB2 today. I thought TXT but shocks are mounted vertically on the one in BB2 id="quote">id="quote">It's definately a TXT-1, It's just modified wth a load of GPM hop-ups including the poxy looking yellow and blue shocks. The shocks are mounted verticaly and horizontaly, like is done on the XTM 4 link truck(cant remember the name) The car in "The dead pool" is an RC10 driven by none other than Jammin' jay halsey. also featured in that film is a short appearance by Guns'n' roses
  8. Hate to be negative about your find darryn but from those pics it looks like there is more going on in a biro than in that truck, For your sake i hope you do get your special motor in it (which i still cant find out why it's so special because it just seems to make grown men wet their pants on the sight of one[?]). Still i will not mock your choices as people have done to me on my hobby. But like the saying goes "Whatever floats your boat"
  9. i cant complain, i got excited even after seeing the new title (jeez am i dumb or what). If picture this was part of some low budget kids film it would go somewhat like this, Chris is an eleven year old boy who has just played a terrible prank on some people. After a while he realises what a bad thing he had done. Chris' grandfather while walking down the hall hears a crying coming from his bedroom. He goes in to see what going on, only to find young chris on his bed crying. He asks him what the matter is, Chris explains to his grandfather how he tricked all the nice club members into believing that the sand scorcher was being re-released using pctures he made using his 3d software. His grandfather told him that that wasn't a very nice thing to do and that people have emotions and are very fragile deep down on such subjects, but he also says that it wasn't the end of the world and that through time the members would forgive him, espescially if the next members competition was extra special and the biggest yet(Wink Wink). chris then replies 'really Grandpa, well this next comp is going to be the best ever '. Chris and his grandfather go out for a game of catch. Adapted from bestselling kids book 'Chris and the fake scorcher' couple hints on how you could make it up to us again. But seriously Great Joke, you had everyone goin no matter how much they deny it. plus i congratulate you on getting nearly 5000 hits in under 3 days

  11. Dang you, Really want to do motorsport engineering but guess what no college does it in ireland,Dont think i goin to move to england to do it either, ah well Good ole' mechanical engineering will have to do in september.
  12. Hate to say it but Billg4 is right, its a lost cause, there have been many threads of heated discussion over this topic, but all have come to the same conclusion that basically it aint goin' to happen, People say that if a model was re-released the would buy one the instant it came out, But do you honestly think every one that said that they would buy one would?, there is no financial certainty for tamiya, like the saying goes "Money talks, Bull**** walks" , Hate to rain on your parade but someone had to break the news. But there is some hope tamiya do take note of requests for future reference and hold me to this if tamiya start producing loads of olds discontinued parts i will eat my words
  13. Or if you are having a REALLY hard day at the you could try these out. www.energyfiend.com, see how many cups of coffee or other drinks it would take to kill you or www.deathclock.com, about how long you have left to live(and work in the office[])
  14. My brother used to have a bandit, if it is the same model i am thinking of there was a 'turbo' pack you could plug in the back bed which would give you extra voltage so you could do wheelies?, I think
  15. In that case, AFAIC ICCL IYKWIM YKWYCD W/ uR TXT TLK......IDK[?][8D]

  18. I have heard normal white toothpaste works excelently, do a search in the "hints and tips" section and you should find more info on cleaning clear plastics
  19. I feel a proper collector is a person who has a collection(DUH?), whether it big or small, of cars and trucks, NIB or restored, project, runner or shelf queen. A collector doesn't mind spending many hours restoring or searching for rare parts to finish a resto just to see in go in its prime again. Thats just my view now

Open to offers
  22. I hope it does get re-released then maybe my boss will leave me alone about restoring one[!], which afer this little rumour wont be happening for a while(or until it re-release then a can build NIB one [])
