The problem is aircans lose pressure as you use it, definately worth getting a compressor. you can freeze water in seconds with aircans, but i wont say how[]
-
So there is some life in Ireland, Its a good thing to know, If your ever in galway on a saturday call into modelworld, you should find a tamiya fanatic in there.
-
I used to just save up money and then when i had enough i would get something i had my eye on, But nowadays my boss fuels my addiction by letting me use his paypal account when i want (Darn him[!], he knows i am a tamiya freak) and lets me pay him through work. Although it isn't the same feeling when i get the stuff, Like chris B said if you save up for ages you will appreciate it more(i still do have to work hard to pay for it but it isn't the same). It reminds me of when i got my t-maxx(5 years ago i think,my 2nd car), i really wanted one so i worked with my dad on the building site for a month just to earn enough money to get one, i loved it so much and still have great memories of the trip up to dublin to get it, it drove so well[] compared to my other car. I still have it, not in original state(heavily modified now), and dont plan to sell it(ever[]). Ahh memories[]

I've tried to put myself on the map but it didn't work i probably have to subscribe first(which i promise is coming very soon[])

Or you can place it underneath a big pile of heavy books or something heavy with a flat surface, leave it for a week or so and it will be perfect again, only problem is waiting so long, so try the other. -
Well i think i might be the first and only person from the republic of Ireland(West). I am the only person i know of that likes collecting old tamiya stuff. There are a couple members of the Galway model car club (GMCC) have one or two tamiya's, nothing of great amazement.I am afraid to say gad that Tamiya kits aren't sold in the Republic of ireland [:0].I hear the problem is the distributor for Tamiya stuff in ireland doesn't like the R/C models and chose not to distribute them and that to get them there is a huge price increase on them by him making them very expensive to sell if any profit is to be had. although despite that i have seen one shop in the south of ireland (Co.kerry) that has had some tamiya r/c's. I work part-time in a modelshop called "Modelworld" in galway. We have sold about 300 cars since we opened about 1 1/2 years ago so there i a model car scene, I have only seen one tamiya model come in ever for repair, a ford F-150 ranger XLT, went histerical when it came in. Told my boss to see if the lad would sell, the guy said he wouldn't[!], i'm sure it will come back though. So from this you can probably see that there is not much of a tamiya scene, but i always have an eye out for any tamiya models. I can safely say there is atleast 2 vintage tamiya's in ireland, An SRB and an Xr311. Oh, those Losi parts on ebay are mine, with many more to come.

I like it, but i could see it goin quickly if it was injection molded caus it would be to weak unless it was really thick -
the new paintjob is having bad effects on me. i feel like trying to drive the tractor 'faster' now, new paint is pretty effective.
-
quote: Thats a cool paint job but you going to need more than that to smoke my tractorid="quote">id="quote">My massey would destroy your elongated lawnmower, sure its clean lookin but mine is red and everyone knows red ones go faster[], your chassis doesn't count

Decided my tractor looked a bit boring so i got creative with an airbrush[:I] %5d %5burl%5dhttp://photobucket.com/albums/a322/Madmat4x4/?action=view¤t=P1010076.jpg" target="_blank">http://photobucket.com/albums/a322/Madmat4x4/?action=view¤t=P1010077.jpg[/url ] http://photobucket.com/albums/a322/Madmat4x4/?action=view¤t=P1010076.jpg://http://photobucket.com/albums/a322/...nt=P1010076.jpg Who said tractors were for agricultural uses only[

The cage could be injection molded and the first part everyone would get rid of. -
Part of that articulation is chassis flex

[], Very nice. Tlt-1 axles seem to be a hit nowadys. -
From experience of the sand in Kerry, it is not very fine so gearboxes should be too badly effected and it is fairly dry.
-
Like T.C. tamiya said it will go in in the winter, mainly because people want winter projects for those rainy days and long nights. In the summer the last thing you want is to be stuck inside on a hot day polishing away at some parts.
-
Might see you down there, keep an eye out for a TXT-1. There is a hobby shop hidden away in one of the towns(it has a the biggest trainset in kerry in the backroom for people to view)they sell tamiya stuff in there migth be worth a look if you find it
-
When? I'll be in kerry(where Dingle is)during the August bank holiday
-
I find Aztec brushes to be very good, even there midrange one is very good (although it does feel a bit cheap because its plastice, but there is always the heavy metal version)and its not over priced. I hear the Sotar 20/20 brush is very good or the Parma F1 (I am yet to try either so dont take my word for it). Badger brushes are good and feel nice in the hand.

What part of Ireland are you going to?

Kinda reminds me of the time me and my old man were trying to fix an old reel to reel we got free from a radio station 'caus we knew a lad who worked in there, Anyways last time we tried worked grand, put it aside for a few years, just a bit dusty, so we clean it off and check everything and try it...... It works grand, i was just about to say that it's working good when a load of smoke starts to pour out of the back[], this wasn't normal smoke either it was thick dark green smoke, so we watched it fizzle away for a shortwhile(laughing away at the stupidity if it) until it was decided it was poisonous and we would most likely die from it, after that we shelfed it again. Nothing to do with PC's but funny(well atleast to me) -
Try this site out, the software isn't top-class but its pretty good for something free. http://www.emachineshop.com/download/free-CAD-software.htm they give it out free so their customers can design their own stuff and get a price on how much it would cost to make. Although i am newish to AutoCAd i am finding it very easy to get the hang of drawing decent 3D drawings.
-
maybe someone will find a hidden stash of bruisers or whatnot, flood ebay with them thus causing a massive price drop[8D]
-
I would say from the kit number it would have been released around '99/'00, so i would say it is the same as the pajero rally sport
-
If he is that slow at replying to you by email which is in his own home, Keep in mind how long it could take to get it posted, Then agian he could be too busy to reply as often as you would hope.

If you look at some of the old Tamiya/MRC ads you'll see MRC doing special deals on kits with the battery and charger, Especially in the ads around christmas.
