Well i got my new car during the weekend. It's a '94 Ford Fiesta RS1800, One of the only ones on the country. The thing is rapid quick compared to what i'm used to and pulls like a train. It has 135-140bhp which is plenty for the moment I have started cleaning the engine bay since the last pic was taken so it is looking slightly better at the moment Oh, Petrolhead, My hats goes off to you on that bit of driving in the vid, not sure if i'd be able to recover like that! Matt

As per the title. Found this on another form and thought i should share it. The attention to detail is amazing. Took me a while to figure out what car it was but it's in the first 100 in the Tamiya line-up http://www.mat.fi/project1984toyotacelicaturbo.htm' title="Link"> Enjoy Matt

There is no harm in running your engine with the plug loosened but you will feel it's effects in the performance of the engine, and like backtomyroots said it will fire the plug out eventually. If you need to clear the engine of fuel take the plug out completely, turn the truck upside down and turn the engine over for a couple seconds. after that put the plug back in and off you go.

Mountaineer less desirable than Bruiser?
Madmat replied to jas312's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Maybe not to some but still it is a proper 3-speeder and that's what really counts to many. I dont see the 7.2v battery pack as a disadvantage to it as they are much easier to get then a dead discoloured old battery pack Ehm Tamiya1/10...It wouldn't be called a hilux if it were made by Ford!!! -
worst thing during building a car
Madmat replied to _miga_'s topic in Anything not RC related goes here
The worst thing i cant think of was when i was removing some flashing from a part with an No.11 blade. I was removing the flashing when suddenly i thought to myself..."I should really try and be careful with this or else i could cut myself"......Well i had only finished thinking that when the blade left the part and removed about 3/4 inch of skin from the top of my finger[:'(]... I can easily say it wasn't the most pleasant feeling. More recently I had an exhast spring tool decide to take a quick journey through the end of my finger quickly being followed by some threadlock....Atleast i caould rest assured that my finger wasn't going to come loose!! -

Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas -- Mint 400
Madmat replied to T.C~Tamiya's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Same here....Read the book, then saw the film and specifically looked out for the "Mint 400". Strange film alright -
CA is the exact same as SuperGlue, Realisticly though CA might be a bit brittle for battery packs. Like Tupers suggested, You would be better off with hot glue or even trying epoxy if you want the cells permanently bonded

You might want to swap those tyres around....They work better the other way[] Looks sweet so far though!

Alot of that car is traxxas. The driveshafts, fuel tank, shocks, hubs, linkages and some other parts are all definately traxxas but the design is more like that of a kyosho. Did you contact Traxxas about the model?
-
It'll add weight! If you want to go light-weight, go with carbon fibre or titanium. Only trade off is that carbon fibre is brittle and both are expensive. If you are aiming to race it look at your tyres, motor and general set-up of the car first. Even try a race with your car in standard form to see it's weak point and what needs improving!

Sordo is a possibility but i'm going to give Gronholm a go this year! Can wait for the Irish stage only 298 days to go[]

Wouldn't expect it to be slow with broadband.....Meh!

Hate to be the first to say it but it isn't quiet working for. I tried turning off the firewall block on the screen savers but when i run it, I just get black to grey fade from the top to the bottom of my screen[] Maybe i'll just have to go back to the good old matrix screen saver!

Is it just me or are the forums backwards?
Madmat replied to Wrc action's topic in Tamiyaclub Rules and Site Usage
Yeah it's the same for me aswell, I though it a bit odd a first but i suppose it kind of makes sense to have the club rules at the top! -
Please stop the text talk, TC isn't a mobile phone!![]

The Tamiyaclub Community Model - A Very Special Racing Buggy.
Madmat replied to netsmithUK's topic in Tamiyaclub News
The man has a point....you could spray candy colours over it to give chrome colours (i'm prettysure it works), Maybe even a chrome box art scheme (Blue and white....Or at least blue and chrome in this case!) It would definately stand out if it works. Just a thought Matt -
I just got an offer of a semi-sponsor ship deal with Kyosho today (For more info have a look at my blog) and was wondering had anyone here been sponsored before and what the experiece was like or them?
