  1. Yeah its a current one. The last time I saw it was about 5 minutes before I posted last (I saw it and then remembered this thread)
  2. Theres an ad on tv here for an insurance company called AAMI where a kid is sitting on the floor with a wall of Tamiya XB NIBs behind him. He is asking his parents to save money on insurance so he can have more rc cars.
  3. kchx2, thanks for a bit of information on the mini4WDs. I wish more people could post about these. I know very little about these, yet they seem so interesting. Anything from different models and their hop-ups to race tracks and the stories about various competitions would be nice to hear about.
  4. I have always loved watching those Rube Golberg contraptions. It just so happens I was looking up these this week too. Here are a few more that I book marked. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bdk5m5IT8NY...feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bdk5m5IT8NY...feature=related Heres few more random postings,
  5. I remember that. How much would it cost at $45/hour ???? They will have to make a Playstation game for that.
  6. I can understand one reason why he possible did this (although dont agree with it). Being the retailer of the kit, he is also going to be the person that the father angrily returns too when it doesnt work out. I know tamiya instructions are basic and comprehendable, but somehow some people still manage to get it wrong. As you mentioned, one of my fondest memories was building my Wild Willy with my father. I too asked lots of questions and even discovered how a diff works. Then every time after that it broke, I was able to carry out the repairs myself. If it was RTR my options would be either throw it out, or take it to the shop to be repaired, either way it would of been expensive and I would of soon lost interest. I therefore bought many parts, kits and other things form that shop over the years. As for speaking up, I find its a matter of what is a said, to who, by who (are they ignorant, sometimes the case, they are not going to listen anyway) and how I feel at the time. I am a carpenter, and everytime I go to a DIY store I regularly overhear bad advice being given. Most of the time I choose not to say anything because I cant stand being in those stores and would sooner make and escape. Some things shouldnt be attempted by people who do not have the skill and shouldnt be encouraged. Even some staff feel they want to ask me all about what I am doing and then proceed to tell me how it should be done. But with hobbies I think differently. As civilguy says, electric is a better option. This point I do stand up for. Hibernaculum, I too agree a kit is better. I also snowboard, and even make them. Here is another place I sometimes hear things I dont always agree with. There are also times that I hear the sales staff mentioning a good point yet the customer is a little apprehensive. In these situations I choose to say something, but not push my point. Just another point of view really. On the other hand, Backlash made a good point when he says about minding your own business when you know you should
  7. Yep, Mitsuoka Viewt it is. So who was first?
  8. Ha ha ha, the Pervis Eureka And if you needed to get a new door lock for the lift up roof, you could steal it from your neighbours tilt-a-door.
  9. Correct you are. Your go Madaz75
  10. lol. Thanks, that was a bit of a guess. Ok next one
  11. Caddillac Fleetwood Limousine by any chance?
  12. I agree with Kev, silicone has a shelf life. Also, some older silicones were not neutral cure (very acidic). Some remain soft and appear to be ok, yet never cure.
  13. I translated the instructions a while back. Its as a Word file. I hope it uploaded ok. If it doesnt work just PM your email address and I can email it to you. WHEELER.doc
  14. Petrolheads pic is a Subaru Imprezza WRX
  15. Like rear wheel cars, a front wheel car will still try to lift the wheels. It doesnt do a good job at it, just gets high enough to loose grip and spin the tyres. Anway, nice looking car. I thought it was real before having a double check. Is it one of your cars?
  16. Well Im not from the UK, and Im not into skiing, but Im really into snowboarding. Last year I lived in northern Japan where it snowed heavily during winter. I was only 25 min bus ride to the local mountain, Moya. Because they had lights and my schedule was quite relaxed, I was able to go snowboarding about 5 time a week. The other nearby mountain, Hakkoda, was only 50 min away and was covered with fresh powder up to 3.5 metre deep. Most of the runs were not groomed and they had some really nice black diamond runs through the forest and snow monsters whick were great fun. I was always jealous of the skiiers as they could hike out off the the back of the mountain to some really nice runs. These runs get some slow spots so as a snowboarder I had to strap out of my bindings an walk a bit. I now would like to learn to ski. I mainly use my Sapient 153 in the park (which I love to hang out at getting new tricks) and my Ride 160 for a bit of manoeuverablitity in powder. I also make snowboards, and will make a 140 as a park board next. Its should be about half way between a 121 Mini and my Sapient making it nice and light to twist and spin. What style skiing do you prefer? Whats the snow/resorts/parks like over there? Im now back in Australia and its all expensive and not as good. From what I have heard from my friends from the UK, they say its not that good. Most like to go to Europe for some nice runs.
  17. Yes, its a Tranction Avant Yes, one of the first. Its a bit hard to say what is the first, and what is the first successful. I think it was Cord who first started selling a front wheel drive car. DKW was the first company to have some succes, but Citroen where the ones who had propper sucess. However the Traction Avant was the first monocoque/unitary body. Your go Gozone
  18. Ok, not one but two cars. They are both the same car but different years.
  19. A Nissan Patrol maybe?
  20. You could use a whacker (here). This will pack the ground down hard enough to stop weeds or grass from growing up. It will also help you flatten the track out nice and smooth.
  21. Great choice on something different. Would it be a DAF 33 CVT gearbox? Edit: a little too late
  22. Sorry about that Not paying enough attention
  23. yep, your right mazda75 Kind of amusing that they had to produce a replica for display. When I vistited the museum I found the loom machines more interesting than the cars. Real industrial revolution stuff. Mazda75, what model is that you have taken your user name after?
