New wheels for King Blackfoot
Basherboy replied to Bazman's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
Hi Bazman, you want 2.2 truck wheels, have a look in members showrooms for options ( plenty )also there are hop chrome jobs for the KB but these are quite uncommon. Most head towards the HPI chrome superstar MT truck wheels. WW2 wheels are also an option. cheers Lee -
hi guys, just researching building a mod clod but how do you cope running them in water and deep mud - surely with the servos and sometimes motors mounted low water would be a problem - is it? how do you get round the water issue? Would like to build one to anywhere ( well almost ) cheers Lee
-
Dont know about the buggy special ( do a search and see what it brings up ) but I use a sports tuned and thats more than enough! wheelies arent a problem just remember they handle like a WW on hard surfaces eg fall over on cornering - yet to try the WW2 wheel/tyre combo. hope this helps Lee

Fast Motors in a Dagger
Basherboy replied to Biggins's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
Easiest bet is Tower hobbies as they did the mag mayhems with one in reverse - I know its still youSA but tower are really good to deal with and very good prices compared to here. For youK could try Fusion or Goldstar on these forums to see what they could do. -
ok 17th it is - thought everyone could bring their R/C stuff to sell/trade and do a mini car boot whilst there ( save on postage if nothing else! ) Lee

Gonna start the ball rolling for the next Clumber meet - anyone with a preferred date in mind? Lee

Basherboy replied to Stevo309's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
Hi mate, from memory ( which is fading!) I think you need 24x1150 ballraces and it can use the cva mini shock II. Hope this helps Lee -
Further to raising funds for the Tank I will take offers on my; WW2 - with msc - super low friction shocks - fully ballraced - no radio gear Frog - see earlier post Gravel Hound NIB- with esc, metal motor mount, alu prop shaft full bearings - still all NIP Super Fighter G - NIB Will post worldwide at cost, any questions or need more photos just email Cheers Lee

I've read on these forums that the Pershing is the 'better' tank for offroad use - how much better is it than the Tiger or King Tiger as I prefer German armour but dont want to be dissapointed to the tune of £300.00!! Also there are a few upgrades for Tanks such as metal tracks and such - are these worth upgrading to? any essential ones? Just to note I'm in the UK where its generally wet 90% of the time - just in case this may affect upgrades or options. Cheers Lee

Filling scratches in old hard bodies.
Basherboy replied to netsmithUK's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
In the forces accomodation the common 'filler'was toothpaste used to fill in holes left by picture hooks etc, it dries hard and can be painted over. Not actually tried it yet but others may have. Just an idea. Lee -
I upgraded my KB shocks to the plastic oil jobs however the car now sits very low at the rear - is this due to the crappy soft springs or soft oil or both - if its the springs which are recommeded, how much and where from? ( preferably UK ) Cheers Lee
-
Is this the correct forum to discuss tanks? just wanna make sure cheers Lee

Want a Tank ( I blame the dam tank owners posting pics )so a couple of cars must go! First up is my Frog with; spare repro body and wing ( unpainted ) tamiya 1200 racing pack period charger period radio gear NIP front and rear tyres spare gearbox 2 pairs of spare dogbones hex adapters ( oldfrogshots ) Oldfrogshots gearbox plate screw and drivecups ( see forums ) I think thats everything - have original decals but they will go on ebay - sorry. please email offers - please dont ask how much. I have pictures ready for ebay if you wish to see them. If no serious offers after a couple of days its off to ebay - would just prefer to give you guys a chance first.
-
try the search feature - loads on decals and decal production - need patience, time and money - lots in equal measure lol.
-
I've got a ramp I knocked up the other day ( see KB in showroom )if yer want me to bring it? Anyone else bringing ramps etc? Lee
-
Got a heatsink for the GH as I have a TZ to put in it so will try the combo you suggested - thanks again for the advice. Lee
-
Aye gearbox is fully ballraced and not overly greased - car seems pretty rapid - which I like lol. Unfortunately I dont have a race car or something similar to try the motor on - only WW2 and the Frog as my Gravel hound is not built yet. Could just sell it and slap a sportstuned in. cheers for the help anyway mate Lee
-
The motor is a 27t ( rebuildable I think ) with the 24 deg timing thingy - sorry not very technical. I am aware that the esc might have problems with this motor from the forums but its not a problem as I have an RV15. Lee
-
Yup I'll be there as well this time but dont have an FG. I'll bring the Frog on its maiden run ( so it'll probably break! , WW2 and my king blackfoot. ( Gravel hound is still inbuilt ). May need someones mobile number for meeting up as last time I couldnt find anyone hehe ( being late didnt help lol ) Cheers Lee
-
Hi guys and gals, I put a trinity monster horsepower pro in my king blackfoot however it gets very hot after about 5-10 mins ( eg too hot to touch ). The tamiya esc cant handle it and kindly shuts down as this gets near melting point! Is this motor supposed to get very hot? or have I done something wrong? The king is new built so gearbox is nicely greased but could it be the gearing - should I take it out and put something else in? Have checked the search feature thats where the gearing idea came from. Cheers Lee

Q1 - yes it will upto 1700 capacity I think[?] Q2 - dont know; as I dont know if it has peak detection ability ( maybe instructions will tell you. Q3 - personally I had an AC30 and just gave up as it cant charger anything higher than 1700's. I now use 3300's and get great run times - my charger cost £40.00 and has everything that I need for just trashing and bashing[] hope this helps

Fed up with sloppy bush devil steering any ideas ?
Basherboy replied to jesterdude's topic in General discussions
Try a search on blackfoots steering as I've seen a fair bit re improving the steering.[8D] -
I'm not in Oz mate but I use a Ripmax propeak varipulse which is great and can charge upto 5amps. Have you checked the search function as chargers have been a common topic?
