  1. It takes a big man to forgive or apologise and an even bigger one to beat up Mike Tyson. Paul.
  2. I think the stats are totally inaccurate on TC, I don't think you can extrapolate the amount of cars from what are listed. People list sexy stuff (myself included, sexy to them at least) and what turned them on when younger. I have 4 Brabham BMW Turbos, all NIB, for example and not a single one listed. If I were to list them now it would almost double the entire Tamiyaclub.com collection at a single stroke. This isn't unusual for me, same with Matras (both types) Can Ams (maybe I did list them?) and many many others. Plus I usually (now, not then) list lumps of cars under one listing, so last night two cars were listed (Opel and Audi) but in each listing there were 3 NIB cars, this doesn't increase the stats, you would have to look inside the list to find those ones. I can't say how many Sand Rovers I have now, but it is more than the 7 or so I have listed on TC. I am just talking about my habits, but I kind of gave up listing a while ago for a number of reasons (hate mail, lack of time, temporary indifference, illness (I get the irony), camera breaking, apathy, lethargy, incarceration, committal etc) and only recently started doing it again, although not in earnest, I will never get it done, to be fair. Paul.
  3. I know exactly what and who you are referring to, which is why I felt I could pipe up without being shot down Paul.
  4. No Tariq, you can't have one of my Black Porsches. Paul.
  5. There is a secret vault, a few people know about it, but not the full contents, not even the owner. It is in Czech. Arrogant of me to ask, but did my Tamiyaclub.com listings last night prompt this thought? Paul.
  6. OK, cool, I understand. You are obviously annoyed, hope you find what you are looking for! P.
  7. This is really tricky, as I have been on the seller's side when someone says they want something, only never to hear from them again. It is difficult when you have a lot on, same way with eBay, loads of people were really distressed when Jason's goodies disappeared when the Buggy Champ was re issued and resellers bought the items whilst they were working (or sleeping). I guess he can't know your movements, so although you trusted him, might have been worth mentioning that you wanted it and that it would take a while for you to get back to him with payment etc. I have done business with you before, so I know you are straight, but not everyone sees that as a virtue, sometimes people just want the money as soon as possible from anyone. Sorry this happened to you, PM me with the item description, I might have one! P.
  8. Volts x Amps = Watts (VA) mA means thousands of an AMP. The battery is rated 270 mAH (milli Amps / thousands of an Amp) which means 270 thousandths of an Ampere-hour (charge) In order to charge the battery to this level, you need a charger with a voltage of that similar to the battery (7.2 volts) and to calculate the amount of time, if the output of the charger is 270 mA (milli Amps/thousands of an Amp) it will take one hour to charge. Twice as much it will take half an hour, half as much will take two hours. Paul.
  9. Hi there, Mark, I know you know your stuff, but VA is written on it, not A, which means Watts, not Amps with DC. Paul.
  10. They are much rarer than the other Willy for sure, in NIB form. Perhaps not the rarest of kits (maybe a bad choice of mine, they were just on my mind at the time) and because they are virtually the same as the common newer kit they are mostly a curiosity. Kind of like the original Juggernaut. Paul.
  11. I should point out mAH is Milli Amps per hour, which means thousands of an Amp per hour current. 1000 mAH is 1AH, etc. Paul.
  12. Usually the Tamtech wall chargers are rated around 120 mAH, which means that in an hour theoretically it should get a 270 mAH battery upto nearly half the charge (120 into 270 isn't quite half). With 120 mAH output from the charger, a charge should optimally be reached in 2 and a quarter hours. If you had a 135 mAH output that would be 2 hours, 270 mAH output 1 hour etc. The Tamtech batteries are very good indeed, I have a bunch of old ones and they hold a charge. Just run them out sensibly, not all the way down. Paul. PS : Just make sure you are looking at the output figures, usually these are a small voltage (between 6 and 9 volts) and 50-200 mAH would be appropriate for these batteries. There is a car cigarette fast charger available for these models, it runs on about 1 AH, which means you can charge the little battery in about 15 minutes (but not recommended more than 6 times in a row) Does this answer the question?
  13. The Castrol comes with a cockpit and the Lancer with a 'dust cover' although this is just the main body of a Dark Impact on which the chassis are based. Both models come with a full set of bearings. Paul.
  14. I got a couple of those pens from friends in Japan and Hong Kong, carbon effect and they write very well :-) Paul.
  15. We've waited 30 years, another month or so won't kill you Paul.
  16. It has little to do with money, for some people dropping $10K for the best example of the rarest most desirable model is simply an insignificant drop in the ocean, whilst for others $10K in cash at one point in time will never be achievable, however, the 'poorer' person is no less a serious collector if they hunt around car boot sales in the early hours of the morning looking for a rare bargain, or manage to snag a badly listed item on eBay for less than its 'worth'. It is all about passion for the hobby, not deep pockets. That being said, as I have said in a previous thread, the re issues have changed the way I think about my collecting. I have dropped trying to have the largest private NIB SRB collection and trying to get the most wonderful perfect mint kits. Re issue kits are mint, I don't need originals to be mint as well, just original, with a little Patina and history. This is good for other people I guess, as dozens of NIB SRB kits (which have been snapped up, I must point out) have made their way back into the market. You can buy prints of original art work by Picasso, Dali etc numbered from the original artist as well, but that doesn't mean the owners of those originals feel their purchase was foolish, that suggestion in itself shows a lack of knowledge about originality and collecting. Clearly an original artwork is a single piece, but rare kits might be in the literally 'count on the fingers of your hand' quantity, certainly complete boxed NIB Black Porsches, SWB Wild Willy's and some other kits I could mention fall into the category of being so rare in NIB form they are almost unique and certainly not readily available. I have said it before, but the re issue Sand Scorcher shares few identical parts with the original and you can tell the differences from way off. That doesn't mean I don't like it, just that it isn't the same car. Rather a tribute to the original and as with the Buggy Champ front tyres and other significantly different parts, people have been asking me to sell things like original bodies etc to make their re issues more original, so clearly other people can tell as well. If you can't tell, then fine, stick with the new ones, they are great too, plus no need to worry about spares! Paul.
  17. They are harder for sure. I just compared two sets from NIB kits :-) Paul.
  18. I just re read your post, perhaps you are not suffering from bump or roll steer or some other quirk of the Hornet as I notice you are drving straight n a road. Did you make sure the servo was centred and the trim centred when you attached the servo 'horn' to the steering servo? If you have the clicky sort of trim, it will always be slightly off, an infinitely adjustable (analogue potentiometer type) should always gives perfect trim with a lot of effort. Try to get the servo horn centered when you install it (you will need the radio gear on for this) then try it again. P.
  19. Why on earth would you want to drive straight Seriously though, get used to it, the only way to get it to run straight will be if you take the tyres off and run it on rails! Paul.
  20. BANG!!!!! (Screaming heard from Sweden....) Paul.
  21. OK, I will put you out of your misery
  22. Sean, he is going to think we are intentionally screwing with him Paul. PS : If you can't, I am sure I have some spare, red ones that is.
