Hi all, I have a question concerning Lexan paint which can be applied by brush. Are there any other brands than Tamiya ( their PC line) that carry paint for lexan bodies that can be applied by brush? Regards, Rick

Hi all, I was wondering if it possible to spray TS paint on the inside of a lexan body and have a good result. Point is I have to use dark brown ( like TS 1) for a certain colorscheme, but Tamiya hasn't got it in her PS range. Or is there another brand that has this color in stock? Thanks, Rick

Thanks for the replies, guys! I will experiment with the decals to see if it harms them or not. @Bromvw: I am not familiar with cutting compound: can you explain what it does and how to apply it? Does Tamiya have something like that? Thanks, Rick

Does any one know if clearcoating over waterslide decals harms the decals? And what is the best way to clearcoat a abs body? Thanks, Rick

Thanks for the replies guys! I have the Tamiya ps 54 and indeed it is too green. Unfortunately I don't have an airbrush, so it will have to be paint in a spraycan. I am looking for lexan paint from another manufacturere which resembles the colour better. Any suggestions? Rick

Hi all, Does anyone know the correct lexan colour to paint a Leyton House F1 car? As far as I can see, Tamiya hasn't got the right colour in their PS range? Thanks, Rick

I think HPI hit the nail on the head with this on: it's a great performer with scale looks. I am using this chassis for my Bronco project: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...611&id=5123 I hope Tamiya will make a similar car someday: they did it once with the Wild one... Rick

It looks like they used the chassis of the mini trophy desert truck and put on a class 2 body on it: I love it!!!!!! Come on Tamiya: you can do it!!!!!!!!!!!! Rick

I guess this (re) release shows that thare are no holy grails left..... Although very tempting, I will stick with my old three speeds for now and wait for the inevitable rerelease of the Mighty Blazing Blazer! Thank you Tamiya for giving us after 30 years the toys we saw as a child but weren't able to buy........I imagine Mr Tamiya being a grandfather who is giving in to the wishes of his (grand) children. So no reason for not bringing out the annual RC guidebook, just like yesteryear!!!!!!!! ARIGATO! -

Guys thanks for all the input sofar! Painting on the inside and adding varnish on the outside never crossed my mind! Hower: the colorscheme I am aiming for, should be easier applied to the outside...mmmmh If painted on the outside: is Tamiya plastic primer as good as Halfords? And after priming should I use TS or PS paints? Rick

What kind of preperations should I make and should I use PS or TS paints? All tips are more the welcom! Rick

Hi all, I am looking for the Kyosho 1/8 EP Formula one cars that were made in the 1990's: the Ferrari 643 and the Williams FW 14 (?). I would like a NIB or new built, but will consider anything else. Thanks! Rick

I think it's the beltdrive made by a German company, named Bamatech. See link below. http://www.bamatech.de/product_info.php/in...-high-lift.html Rick

Thx for your reply. I think I have been causing some confusion: I meant teh rubber tires on the F104 Lotus 79 ( the big ones). What size does the rear rimms have? Rick
-
Thx for all the input. I knew that it wasn't going to work 1 on 1. Still I would like to see the big balloon rear tires on my F201. Does anyone know the size of the rear wheels ( diameter and width) of the F104 ( the rimms that hold the rubber tires) and possible 12 mm hex wheels that would fit them? Rick
-
Hi All, I was wondering if there is a way to fit the new rubber rear tires and wheels from the F104 on a f201. The latter has 12 mm hex wheeladapters. Has anyone tried it? Cheers, Tick

Thanks for all the replies! So the TEU-104 will handle the sports tuned, but is it small enough to fit under the cockpit/ bonnet: I have a Wildone wich has a 'flat' cockpit and enough height for the ESC, but I am worried about the heat dispurged by an ESC while touching the plastic interior or bonnet. Rick
-
Hi all, Does anyone know a good, small, cheap and reliable ESC to fit in the FAV re-release that could handle a sports tuned motor? Does the supplied TEU-104 suffice in terms of space and not overheating? All suggestions are welcaome. Thanks, Rick

Thanks for your reply willy! Do you have any experience yourself using PS paints on ABS? @ Twinset: thanks for your PM: if you could change my forumname into my TC name, I would be most grateful! ( I don't know how the PM function works, therefore I post it here) Cheers, Rick
