  1. Have a look in rabiedmushroom's showroom at the metallic WW2 - Suzy's done a crackin' job [] you might get some ideas there
  2. Yes , flat sanding between coats is quite the norm.It levels out any ' orange peel' effect you can sometimes get with too close a spray, and also if you get any overspray 'dusting' or bits in the air that land on the paint as it dries. Then of course there are the ever popular 'runs ' in the paint .These can all be ironed out with flatting between coats. You can also flat back your lacquer coats before the final coat and polishing .
  3. If you look at the Tamiya Sand Rover only listings as a search as i do, it will show up Sand Rovers currently for sale , look in the left column of that listings page and you will see a sub menu list which will show 'completed listings' as an option to view, click the box and scoll down to 'show items' ,click on it and it will show 'completed listings' for Sand Rovers. The item # was 260108591697
  4. Looks like the driver as used in such cars as Ralt RT2 Hart 420R , Williams FW-07 , JPS Lotus, VW Golf Group2, Renault 5 Turbo ,etc.

  6. Yes they are . I have adapted them to fit ,there is a thread in the 'hints and tips' that i put in the other day giving a run through of what i did. A very easy conversion.Once polished they will look awesome [H]
  7. Your welcome []
  8. Hi Mark, make sure your CRP wheel outers are for the right wheel centres as there are 2 sizes for SRB's , the SS etc are smaller than the Rough Rider ones front and rear. Also, i use T-cut auto scratch remover (Halfords) for paint finishing it cuts slightly ,but not as harsh as rubbing compound, and it also polishes up aluminum nicely too [] For a direct steering set up see pic, i made this from 3mm threaded rod ,Tamiya 5mm rod ends , brass ball cups, Frog(i think )servo saver , drilled for 5mm rod ends , SRB uprights drilled and machined to suit 5mm ball cups. Champ direct steering set up 2
  9. Further to Jerrys famous mod on the Hornet rear damper to suit the SRB front .I have been working on a project ,and modified a Hornet damper lower mount using Frog / Brat original alloy lower mount and the Frog alloy original spring adjuster fitted on top of it (facing with collar towards the spring ) .It is all mounted up ,but i haven't run it like this yet but i am sure it will work with a bit of tinkering. Also used an aluminium tube cut to approx 12mm long (length may need adjusting when run)with a pipe slice as a spring stiffener - it fits straight over the Hornet damper body - looks great and can be polished up a treat [H]
  10. I cant stop looking at your 'jconcepts' baja bug James - crackin' stuff []

  13. Well Theo , you learn something new every day, i've been looking at Blaque Jaques thread on Ranger / Pajero wheels , and read this old thread on the Ranger bodies and i've checked my 2 Rangers out and it seems i have one old and one newer version body shells, []
  14. I dont have a reference here for re-re Brat wheels , but Wild Willy 1 wheels are totally different to Ranger ,Brat ,Pajero , as they have the same tyres as the Blazer and have a 'tube type' centre .And the WW 2 are totally different again .Sorry i cant help any more than that , if i have been any help at all that is [] - good luck with it all
  15. It might be worth checking those wheels you have again , as i think the original Ranger and Pajero wheels were the same , and on checking through my spare parts manual from 1987 , it does list the same spare parts number for the wheel sets for both cars and the Brat too.

  23. Your Transmitter should have 2 switches on it ( usually at the bottom somewhere) ,channel 1 + channel 2 , by switching the steering channel over it will reverse the action of the servo , thus , steering right will be right on the servo. If your Transmitter hasn't got servo reverses on it , it would be quite cheap to replace the Transmitter with one that does have it , or get a matched servo to your existing handset for the steering []
