Sand Scorcher front body mount supports

I was short of the original door mirror brackets , so I made them too . I thought about what to use and eventually came up with a couple of cheapo 1 metre tape measures I had lying around and the metal tips fitted the bill . A bit of filing and drilling , Tamiya M2 bolts with the head filed down , nut and washer on the inside and hey presto , mirror brackets. A bit of finishing and body paint will make them nice oops , pics below -
Sand Scorcher front body mount supports

Cheers guys . Yes the plate makes a big difference without breaking the bank - or the body and radio box which are usually the casualties from the stock flex . These are simple to make from flat alu. sheet and using the original GRP plate as a pattern . I kept it narrower than the GRP one on purpose so it isn't too obvious when seen from the side -
Whilst restoring my vintage SS I thought I'd try to support the front from rocking on the single mount and thus damaging the nose area. I had 2 plastic fittings in my spares box and with a couple of bolts and nuts it was done . I also made a full length Ali stiffening plate to help with chassis flex.

That was close !! . I would have sorted the trash too to find those parts , in fact I probably have done that looking for missing parts . I've been in and out of my 2 lofts many times on the 'hunt ' for stuff that I've lost count.

Usually when I'm hunting high and low for something I'm sure I've got , it turns out I've sold it or swapped it and forgotten all about the sale / trade . The other problem is moving things from the 'that's where it is' place to another 'I'll remember where I put that ' place , then forgetting where that place is.

I had one of these they are pretty cool models , I also built a Lunchbox to compliment it

Much better

Fresh poop: RC basher's worst enemy?

For sure - quite right . The very reason I find it hard to understand why people go the parks and lay all over the grass with a picnic ( and invariably leave their litter behind ) -

Forget the cats & dogs ( & Foxes ) , this could be a worst case :- https://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/latest-news/driver-caught-having-poo-side-23342211 -

I've only hit pidgeon poop so far and that's bad enough , but dogs-tip-out is gross . There are many signs everywhere , but I guess some dogwalkers can't read or have no moral sense of duty / care / hygiene for anyone else -
Yes , they were seperate items in chrome , Original C parts tree , parts C3 , hard to find now in good condition .There isn't much of a gluing area to glue the handles on so most fell off when running the models , and you need to scratch off the chrome to get the glue to stick as it won't bond to chrome and I suppose this didn't get done in a lot of cases , so again they would fall off , hence future re-re shells have molded handles .

I'm interested in replies , I'd like to try this

Work has started on this project again , the chassis restoration is almost completed , then the bodywork task will begin
