Hi , there are various products to polish with ,but many of them can be aggressive on plastic .I have polished these black plastic tubs and other parts with T-cut scratch remover.This is a mild cutting polish for use on real cars with lacquer coatings on them .I would suggest that you thoroughly wash the plastic parts if you can ,then use the polish ,allow to dry ,then polish up with a soft cloth .I use this polish on my SRB radio tubs and alloy parts too.If you are very carefull you can use it to polish well coated paint , but beware , it can polish off your paint if you polish too hard or too much with it Another tip i have tried is to polish windshields etc with a very small amount of olive oil, it is very gentle but tends to remove some of the 'blooming' look []

I have a pair of SRB rear arms with double bearings, but all of my collection of 7 SRB's have single bearing rear arms.Strangely though my SRB mauals all show thw double bearing illustration for the rear arms but only one bearing being fitted,with the exception of the Champ manual which shows a single bearing type rear arm illustration on page 3 step 3 ,but on page 4 step 4 the illustration changes to show a double bearing type arm again ,but only one bearing fitted. On the subject of manuals, has any body got a Brat manual which shows the Brat moving from right to left on the cover, as opposed to the usual left to right pic. ?.I have both types of original manual , and apart from the cover being different ,some of the pages show different illustrations at various stages throughout the manual, just wondering if anyone else has seen this []

Hi Andy , i have repaired Scorcher gutters using Milliput 2 part gray modelling putty ,this is commonly available at most hobby shops. The gutters that are badly damaged need to cut back flush so you can get a good depth of putty in there .The gutters that are just bruised can be 'cleaned up' back to shape and maybe lightly built up with modelling stopper / filler.Then mix the 2 equal parts of putty together until a uniform colour is achieved ,then apply the putty to the gutter areas, it is a good idea to use water with the putty as it makes it very sticky ,and gives an excellent bond , you can get a basic rough shape by using modelling tools as you dont want to have to sand too much down if you dont need to .I use Macdonalds' wooden tea stirrers a lot ,they are good for shaping also good for mixing epoxy resins etc ,and they're FREE.The putty takes a good few hours to harden , i leave it for 24 hours ,then you can sand it to the required shape , lightly spray repairs with a primer filler , smooth these areas back with wet and dryand prime and paint car as normal - invisible mending ,and very strong . There are spares for XR311 on Ebay now. If you do a search for Tamiya Cheetah and also XR311 you will find a good selection of drive parts ,etc.If the plastic suspension torsion bar rods have snapped ,then this may be the biggest obstacle to completeing your rebuild,as they are very hard to find.It should be obvious if they are broken as the car will just lay on the ground with no ground clearance or suspension.Most of the chassis parts are similar to the re-re version ,with some differences ie:- the battery set up,as the later car uses the std stick type battery as opposed to the smaller old 6v one, good luck with the rebuild , they are fun to run [H]

I had a similar first outing with my latest rebuilt Scorcher also using a 101bk . The ariel wire was too short it went out of control ,hit a plant pot and cracked the nose cone A bit of surgery and all is sorted now .I am running one of Volksrods old shells on it and i have made a box art front bumper for it.I had a Scorcher many years ago and i loved the way it would do 180's ( oh the abuse of it !! ) I wouldn't dare do it now .SRB's rule !!.I love them so much that i now have the whole range and a few doubles - sweet dreams
