It's a potentiometer for the steering trim, which is kind of strange considering that the transmitter that came with the Trailmaster has both steering- and throttle trim.

Thanks for the replies and info. I thought it was some kind of resistor / speed limiter ,  and as you say the controller already has steering trim so I ruled that out . The old PCB and sundry items / servo have now found a new home in the bin .

Thanks.  Sorry for being obnoxious at times.  I like stomping on things from time to time, like the gas pedal.  :D

I will be working on Kyosho Beetle #7 soon.   And once I get a couple of those rear suspension modification bits from Taiwan, I will build the Fighting Buggy and perhaps the other SandScorcher I still have NIB.

That is a FAB bunch of VeeDubs man

I've fitted AYK Super Trail front shocks to the rear of mine ,not the best but very period and similar to SRB but with coil springs standard, the mount it going to be replaced with an aluminium one , I just printed one to check the correct fit .I'll probably use the slot for the fibreglass leaf spring to mount a fake engine .

That looks great . I'll be trying this idea myself at some point 👍

  4. I have to say that I've bought a lot of used HB / SR parts including front trail arms / chassis tub casualty corners / scratch and dent if you will  , and a good percentage of these have been drilled through the pivot point and wood screws used to attach them to the chassis - surely the devils work :P

  5. Very interesting idea . I've restored a few HB's and often thought about the front and rear damper upgrades , but stuck to the original set up for originality as duff as it is ( or quirky - if you like ) . I looked at fitting SRB rear arms to open up options but that doesn't work . I've been tempted to get a broken chassis tub to do an SRB front and rear end graft in conversion , which is now on my bucket list .  I'll look at front damping again at some point as a sympathetic mod to a good chassis tub  . Watching this thread with interest .

    Hi all,

I found this used RC toy and wanted to Tamiya it!   A few options are being considered.:

    1. Comical chassis GF-01 (4WD)

    2. Comical chassis WR-02 (2WD)

    3. Wild Willy chase with Lunchbox tires.

    4. TA-02 with 3D printed chassis

#1 and #2 are comical and wheelbase matches. #3 wheelbase works and is monsterized. Problem is with high center of gravity it will tip often and I am not sure I want to frequently to flip it back onto its wheels

Target now is #4.  A quick drift car with minimal flipping over. This will also give me a chance to learn to design and 3D print for the first time.
    Fingers crossed 🤞

    Wheelbase 175mm

    Track width 200mm

    Length 320mm

    Width 230mm
