  1. Unfortunately, due to lack of money, I need to put the following up for sale:

Futaba 3PK with Spektrum transmitter module and receiver (SR3000)

    All in excellent condition!

3PK comes with aluminium case, wheel extension and manual

I have found this an excellent radio to use and even though I was used to sticks before buying it I found it easy to adapt to.

    Looking for 170 + postage

    Brushless Tamiya TNX!!!

    http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...116&id=5594

Since writing the above I have bought and extra pinion gear, added a Robinson Racing Spur and slipper and added a Much More fan for the motor, solving the last few issues it had.

Excellent acceleration and the brakes are amazing, easily locking the wheels if you want them to.

Comes with loads of spares: off the top of my head: around 6 upper and 6 lower wishbones, 2 whole steering knuckles, extra turnbuckles and some of the original shocks.

I can provide photos of any part of the truck you would like and more details of what I have done. All the parts I have used for the conversion are easily available so it should be easy to keep this running. Includes the beautiful pro-painted body and expensive Proline Powerstroke shocks.

Looking for 230 + postage including the Mtroniks Truck ESC and the Brushless motor. I bet this is a lot stronger than an emaxx and much more unique, I have never seen another brushless emaxx and only 1 other electric one.

Lastly for sale: my Duratrax Ice Charger. Perfect condition, with box, manual, optional temperature probe and all the cables. Sticker on the box says 140, yours for 70 plus postage. As I said, its in perfect condition and its a lovely charger. It can discharge batteries and also charge Lipos.

Thanks for looking! If you would like to check my Ebay feedback (168 100% positive) please search under spiff84.

  2. hi

does anyone know the part number for replacement brushes for this motor? or if any other makes are compatable? Mine are almost worn away. They are as wide as lay down brushes, but the same height too, so are square shape from the front.

    Thanks for your help

oh, and the originals have two wires from each brush. The TRF tuned has to be the best looking motor ever and i'm eager to keep mine going.

  3. hi

I have for sale a GTB 6.5R Novak Brushless system (motor and controller/ESC). It has been run only 4 times. Perfect condition, looks like new. Comes with box and all the manuals/leaflets. Also includes the spare shorter receiver cable. I have fitter Corally pugs for the battery cables, but can include a Deans plug insted if preferred. The Motor wires are untouched and not shortened or un-soldered.

Asking £125. These sell for around £215 in shops!!!

It is fitted to my XXXT MF2 in my showroom. If you want more pictures please ask.

    Thanks

  4. Thanks for that info you 2. I think you're probably right fatboyslim: the newer Phaser Competition is sold as a 27mhz and 40mhz model separately, so i doubt this older model has the abiltiy to span both bands. Looks like im stuck with a transmitter i like on 27mhz and my 3 good receivers on 40mhz....... d'oh.

I've never used a pistol grip radio before, so if i take to it i'll have to sell the receivers. I chose the Losi Sport 'cause it was dirt cheap on Ebay but lots of features like digital trims and 4 model memory. About the only stick radios i fancy are the KO Vantage and the Futaba 3VC, both are quite costly, even on the 'Bay.

Anyone know if using 27mhz AM crystals in a FM 27mhz transmitter is an issue? I would have thought it would be, but as i said above, it works fine on the little practice i've had so far........

  5. hi

Until recently i have used Futaba and Acoms AM 27mhz radios with Futaba and Acoms AM 27mhz receivers and a Futaba 40mhz FM transmitter with Futaba 40mhz FM receivers. I thought it was simply the case that 27mhz is always AM and 40mhz is always FM, with all transmitters, recievers and crystals on these respective bands happily working together. Unfortunately, like most things in this world, it looks like it's more complicated than first impressions.

I thought it was about time i got some decent radio gear, and due to reports that brushless setups and 40mhz can lead to interference have just bought a 27mhz Losi Sport Radio (rebranded JR XR3i) and a LRP Phaser 27mhz receiver (the older type, not th e newer Competition or Sport models). When they arrived i noticed that both say FM on them. The receiver is labled FM, but no signs of what mhz.

I tried my AM 27mhz crystals and both my AM 27mhz transmitters with the LRP receiver with no luck. So i slapped in a FM 40mhz crystal and used my 40mhz radio and it worked fine.

As for the Losi Transmitter, i tried it with AM crystals and a Futaba AM receiver and it seems to work ok, i couldn't get the Acoms AM receiver to work with it, it would do some strange things like go half throttle when i turned left with trigger on neutral [:S]

    My questions are:

    1. If i buy a set of FM 27mhz crystal, should my LRP receiver work fine, or does the fact that it works on 40mhz mean it's been labled wrongly by the Ebay seller and is actually 40mhz only? (in other words, do some/all FM receivers work on both 27mhz and 40mhz FM, depending on what crystals you put in them?

    2. Is using 27mhz AM crystals and receivers with my Losi FM transmitter going to damage it or lead to reception problems?

    3. Depending on answers to the above questions, anyone got a 27mhz FM crystal set for sale at a resonable price or does anyone want to buy a 40mhz Phaser or 2x Futaba FP-R103F? [:)]

Sorry for the long winded explaination. Thanks in advance for any help [:)]

  6. i think the fact they yoko and 501 look so similar is the fact that the layout seems optimal for off-road, mid-to front motor, side by side 3x cells, see xx4, yoko BX, cat 3000, BJ4 Worlds, and x5 (apart from the cells). Also i'm not surpised to see Tamiya go with carbon plates (rather than tub-like chassis (ike a XXX4/XX4), so they are going to look very similar, like Tamiya King said: it works!

I expect the 501 will change quite a lot before (if) it is released, Tamiya aren't going to use Associated parts are they :D you can see by the use of other make's parts and non-turnbuckle front upper arms that it is a rough prototype.

I wouldn't think the hopped up DI would be used by top racers along-side the 501, it isn't as race tuned as the TB Evo series is for on-road, but i should be quite handy at club level. I agree with Toykid: it would be great if Tamiya continued development of both this and the DI.

I'm interested to see the final body design. It will need an air-intake/scoop for the motor, like Yokomo. They are using a BJ4 Worlds shell for the prototype.

  7. I think that the Novak Velocity 6.5R is equivalent to a 3 Star (6.5 turns). A 5.5R is the same as a 4 Star (5.5 turns). The 4.5R is faster than any current LRP/Nosram i surpose logically there will be a 5 Star somewhen). The GTB can handle any sensored Novak or Star brushless motor currently available. The Sphere/Nosram Matrix can handle down to 5.5 turns brushless: 4 Star. The Sphere Competition/ Matrix Evolution can handledown to 3.5 turns brushless, but has no reverse mode: only forward brake, unlike the GTB. But it can handle 7 cells.

I think that's all correct but please correct me if im wrong.

    Hope this helps.

  8. hi

i love my GTB and 6.5R, no problems......yet. I have read on other forums that people have had quite a few problems with most of the main brushless ESCs (LRP, Novak, Mtroniks), that's the problem with new technology i suppose, at least new when it comes to car applications.

But i have also heard that both Novak and Mtroniks have great customer support. You have a problem (that's not your fault) and they will swiftly replace the offending item.

I have emailed Novak a few times and Charlie is very quick and helpful with his responce.

As for brushless becoming more common, i see that Losi now provide a Novak Brushless system (the stock 4300 motor with a slightly lower power ESC that the Super Sport i think)  with their XXX-T RTR!

  9. hi

i have for sale a Tamiya TB Evo III. A great runner with many spares (gears, spur gears, suspensions arms etc). Also has new light weight alumium prop shaft, aluimium centre supports, new grey ball cups, brand new Square wheels, many new titanium screws. £60 for the lot. These are great cars and this is in good condition. I'll include a 540 silver can motor and might have a mod motor spare to chuck in. Servo also will be fitted.

If you need it Ready to Run please contact me.

Pictures ready, just send me an email.

    Thanks for looking.

  10. hi

I have an LRP AI Runner Plus ESC for sale. These haven't been released very long. They are tiny, handle down to 15 turns, are waterproof and have fully automatic setup, just plug and go! I have only used it a handful of times and not got close to the motor limit (just a 19 turn motor). It is in as new condition and has deans plugs installed. Complete with box, instructions, mounting tape, cable ties. Â£20

Don't confuse this with the old Runner ESCs, this is much better and newer, see

    www.lrp-electronic.de

Also for sale is a Tamiya Dyna-Run Super Touring motor. Can is rather scratched, no brushes or wires/plugs installed. looks clean and should be fine when the brushes added (com looks fine). £5

Team Orion Havok 11 turn motor. Needs a capacitor installed but has new (better than standard) wires installed and a deans plug. £4

Team Trinity 19 turn Chameleon 2 motor. Very shiney mark fee can. wires and Deans plug installed. 3 PAIRS OF EXTRA BRUSHES INCLUDED! £12

I also have many extra pairs of lay-down type brushes available. They look very high quality. One type has 2 copper wires for each brush for great current flow, the other type has silver braided wires. Make me an offer for the number you want.

I will be more than happy to provide photos on request. Discount for buying more than one item.

    Thanks for looking.

  11. A bit of a long shot, but would any emaxx owners be interested in a trade for a Dyna Storm and also a Tamiya TB Evolution III.

The Dyna Storm (the red and white one in my showroom http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...31&sid=5594 ) is standard, but is fitted with a new BJ Concepts wing (not pictured). Original wing included but quite battered. It has a Dyna Run 13x2 motor in good condition.

The Evo III has several titanium screws, a light weight aluminium prop shaft, NIP Square (the make not the shape B) ) wheels blue aluminium centre supports. Many spares: gears, old prop shaft, suspension arms, gear casing etc.

Looking for an emaxx, prefer it being R2R, any condition (within reason) considered.

I'm more than happy to provide pictures on request. Any questions please ask.

    Thanks for looking
