Well said Darryn! 100% agree! The original will always be the original. I'm actually shocked to see two Black Porsche's com up on the Bay at once. Although, not one kit has been listed in a very long time it looks like the sellers want to take advantage of the current market value $$$$$. Definitely the most collectable and valuable Tamiya kit to date.

Nice!!! Sealed is always the best. I guess its a good thing I haven't been on-line lately I'd probably put a $5500 bid on that beauty.[]

I just wanted to give a big applause to Jim for his most recent showing. I just received my new April 2007 Car Action Magazine in the mail today and saw your Rothman's Edition Rough Rider in the Readers Riders section of the magazine. Hi Anthony Thank you for the compliments. Yes, that is the kit/pics from my collection. However, the identical twin is in transit to the City[] I could never part with the City's prime real estate without a replacement.[] Just tell your wife that you can't put a price on a memory. Thats what I always tell my wife.. Plus its cheaper than drinking and smoking. LOL I too would love to build most of my kits, but there is just something about un-touched preserved history that turns me on.. LOL To be honest I just do so much building and racing with my current vehicles I just don't have the heart to open any of them. I did buy a few of my favorites though in used condition to restore which are all in my showroom.

Some very interesting post here. Let the re-re's come. Just remember the original Tamiya kits are the ones responsible for all of our childhood memories which brings us all here together on this website. Re-re's are a great way to re-live those childhood memories with the building and driving without emptying your bank account.

A friend of mine that I still race with to this day called earlier today to tell me he found some old vintage R/C cars buried in his basement, and in his old box of cars he found this classic VHS tape buried along with everything!! Its unbelieveable this video even still existed after all these years and I almost cried today after watching it since Robbys Hobbys was my very own grounds for racing from back in the 1980's. I asked him to upload it to the net so I could save it myself and also share it with all you guys.. Its simply remarkable how far things have changed since back in those days and being able to see video footage of my own personal track with race mates as kids is a great feeling!![] The video is from back in December of 1988 and as you can tell by the cars, track, and "mullets" its definitely a great blast from the past.. WARNING: THE VIDEO IS VERY LARGE ( 150MB ) AND NOT RECOMMENDED FOR DIAL-UP USERS.. IT MAY TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO DOWNLOAD BUT ITS WELL WORTH THE WAIT!!
