  2. Try ebay?! http://cgi.ebay.nl/Tamiya-VolksWagen-GOLF-...1QQcmdZViewItem
  3. .. you glue your tyres, you always seem to glue your fingers together!!! My girlfriend laughed her ... of an hour ago when I glued when finger onto my other finger AND the wheel!!![!] [8)] [] I had to cut it loose with a knife!
  4. Hi all, Since we have a lot of woods and nice bumpy tracks nearby, I'm considering buying an off road car. Ofcourse, my gf does not agree but what is the best choice for these prices: - Blazing star buggy - EUR 109,-- - Wild Dagger - EUR 159,-- I've read somewhere that the blazing star has low ground vlearance and that driving on grass isn't even possible. Is this correct?? What would be the best choice for me to buy. I also would like to drive on beaches... Maurits
  5. Well guys thanks for the answers I thought it was a litle bit overkill since I do not race competition with it. Th LA suspension arms, are they longer or something? I can't find any information on that. I've seen them go for EUR30,- on ebay but I do not want to spent money on something I don't need..
  6. Hi all, Searching for hop-ups I saw a lot of front and rear arms in annodized blue alluminium. Are these any good or do they do something for improvement for the car?? Can't immagine that it would do a lot for weight.. Thanks Maurits
  7. And here it is on the English site of Tamiya. It's official!!! http://www.tamiya.com/english/hobbyshow/index.htm
  8. In my opinion you should not put to much grease into the bearings. You can put some on the axle but if you put too much on the side, it atracts sand and dust which could end up in the bearing. In the manual for the F201 it wasn't needed at all to put grease on the bearings.
  9. Our postboxes (TPG) are getting blown up every new years eve. This year they took al away a day before. But, that's in the city... Wonder what happens if I put my gf's Guinea pig in the microwave and shoot that on video!! Or is that NOT funny??
  10. Are there mailboxes left over in Zeeland after new years eve?? Cool vid
  11. Was thinking to put my BigWig wheels onto my TL01... Maybe an Idea
  12. How much I love Tamiya cars, I wouldn't wear a Tamiya shirt to a musical?!?
  13. quote:Originally posted by nigeninjaNow let me just quote from the collins english dictionary,Landmark conspicuous object;event, decision etc.considered as important stage in development of something. Forgive me for being a bit inventive. id="quote">id="quote">Event?? Should have taken a picture during a North Korean nuclear test!! []
  14. Why isn't there anything on the Tamiya site about this??
  15. quote:Originally posted by kontemaxAt the end: I like to dream. People that doesn't dream will obtain less things in life I believe. I like to dream cause is beautifull and is free. I like to think that Mr. Tamiya will listen us. Max id="quote">id="quote">Max, you touched me...[] No, kidding, you are absolutely right. For commercial reasons only, the Tamiya corp watches forums worldwide (if they are smart!!). I used to work for a trading company in hitech alloys. I always watched forums and newsgroups regarding large projects in the Netherlands and stuff like that. It gives oppertunities you never would think of, and it paid of sometimes. The fact that TC is so big and there are a lot of 30+ people here must be a wake up call for Tamiya lat few years. The Internet IS the way for us vintage loving freaks to share our passion and spread the word []
  16. ****, just ordered two..... But thanks for the answer.
  17. quote:Originally posted by anytimebabyLets say tamiya has the tooling (which they seem to) and cheap labour (The philipinnes-cantspell) what could they lose? If they did a 3 month production run on say the full parts list of the Quattro, id="quote">id="quote">That's 3 months less on other production. They only re-release if they have production available for it. With worldwide economics down at the moment a lot of kids who want a new gravelhound (or simulair) won't get it because dady can't affort it. This is the only reason they are re-releasing cause the 30+ collectors can and will pay for such a car instead of buying a new design. Tamiya knows that there are people (30+) who won't buy a new designed car but for 'sentimantal' reasons WILL buy the Frog or Grasshopper! So it's more efficient to produce those cars than having to shut down the production line. Who knows the year figures for Tamiya for 2004??
  18. Hi all, Maybe a 'stupid' question but do you need one or two sets of the tuned gear set for the TL01. I ask cause I bought a stabilizer set and that's only one packed.... thnx Maurits
  19. quote:Originally posted by WirelessI think unless we guaranteed the purchase of a minimum of 10,000 units then Tamiya wouldn't even look at it, maybe even 50,000 units. It's just not worth their time tooling up for small runs. id="quote">id="quote">I don't know what production runs are at Tamiya but if you are talking about 50.000... that's a lot in this case. But there is a good point in kontemax request. Maybe if we had a poll on tc what should be the next rerelease, we could sent the outcome of the pole to Tamiya?! Chris, could you place something like that on TC, and I do not mean like a topic in the forum??
  20. My first experience with ruining cars by non expeienced drivers is when I drove my neighbours Frog Full Speed into the curves. I totaly cracked his chassis just behind the front suspension!! At that moment I told myself when I got a car, no one but myself was allowed to drive it. Now 20 years later, I got my girlfriend so far that she wanted a go with my TL01 (without hop ups). After 2 minutes she managed to wedge the car between my real car's front tire and ground. The body was cracked and the shock was stuck. She then never wanted to drive again untill last week. I have my TL01 hopped up with 23T motor and lots of other stuff. She wanted a go with it and I agreed. I was surprised that she managed so well with the car. Maybe she is practicing when I'm not at home!?
  21. quote:Originally posted by tamartinThe next thing is, Tamiya made never a really good plastic. Every other companies made better and longer lasting cars than Tamiya. If you build a 25 year old Marui and drive it, everything is fine. Never do this with a plastic Tamiya car. My opinion is, that Tamiya is not a really RC car builder. They wanted to make more money than only with the static kits. But the quality was never as good as the competitors. id="quote">id="quote">My first car was a Marui Galaxy. Within two weeks I broke the bumper, worn out ALL gears and had a crack in the chassis. And that's for driving on a parking lot without anny curves!!! It has to do with all mentioned above. I don't think Tamiya uses "cheaper" plastics.
  22. All plastics age, it's a common misunderstanding that they don't. Oil, moist, uV-light and other influnces cause the carbon bindings in the plastic to fall apart. Some plastics have it more than others. Take a look at this site, it tells you more. www.plasticsmag.com
  23. Think you can sell it for uS$ 600,--
