  1. Well offcourse you must not use grease on the outside parts. Even on my F201 ballraced, it states that you should not grease the ball bearings since it attracts dust and dirt. I have this oil cleaner which is not harmfull for plastics. I use it on my mountainbike to clean the chain. Now I use it on my TL-01 impreza to clean the shocks from oil/grease and dirt. Just spray it on, rinse it with water and it's done!
  2. It'usaly in the kit!? I use grease from Robbe (no. 5532). It comes in a handy squeze bottle with a needle!
  3. I just detailed my F201 ferrari. What a pain.... The body didn't have film on the outside as I discovered AFTER painting it. Luckely, had some brake fluid to clean that up. The stickers also had to be cut out, but that's no problemn. The problemn is when you put on a sticker, see that it's not alligned and peel it off... 50% of them you break!? They snap so easaly!! But still, it's part of the hobby and makes it fun!
  4. I'VE GOT IT!!! Man is this a beauty to build. Already spend an hour last noght putting together the ball diffs! I will take pictures during the building proces so people can see how it's being build.
  5. To be honnest, I thought the 1st car was also real Had to look verry good to see the difference!! But those decals would make it more authentic. Please sent me an email with the price you want for it to mstoet@hotmail.com. There is no hurry since I'll be receiving the car this weekend, building will take me a week.. Gest regards, Maurits
  6. Authentic?? I thought Tobacco decals arn't allowed annymore in real F1? If you have some pics, great!
  7. James, Thanks for the advice! I think It is an option (the A type body) so I'll consider it. Do you know if you an buy the ferrari decals seperate? Maurits
  8. Well, already ordered the Ferrari now, I think it looks better I'm not sure if I'm gonna drive it or put it on the shelf. Just like the looks of it! I'm a bit scared that I dammage the body cause it looks that good!
  9. James, I checked eTamiya.com. Their price is US& 241,- (EUR 173,-). Other online shops ion holland and the average price is ther ±EUR 280,-, so for Dutch standards, it's a bargain I'm not planning to drive a lot with it, that's why I have my TL-01 But still, thanks for the advice! Maybe I also buy some hop-ups. Maurits
  10. James, It's NIB. What I read on the member Reviews, it is a nice car to build and have it on the shelf. Also, the tuned sports motor is an extra. I already placed the order so.... thnx Maurits
  11. Okay, Is this a bargain?? T58288 Ferrari F2001 (F201 chassis) € 139.95 Look at www.pkracing.nl Maurits
  12. Hi, Founf a handy 'tool' for refurbishing wheels. My BigWig wheels were all discollered and scratched. I used steel sponges (with soap in them) to clean them. It worked out great (see picture)!! http://www.tamiyaclub.com/getuserimage.asp...005171420_2.jpg http://www.tamiyaclub.com/getuserimage.asp...005171420_5.jpg Maurits
  13. Well, if someone has the BigWig decals, it would be great for me. Understand that some people would like NOT to share these, but still.... Hate to pay € 15,- for some decals..
  14. But still, UKclaire, what is up? We still do not have a clear answer on what is going to happen (or did I not read it correctly?)
  15. As a kid the Hotshot was my dreamcar. The fast design made it look awsome. I hope they re-release the Hotshot, gonna buy it immediatly (don't tell my girlfriend [])!!
  16. I usaly pronounce it as: "ki-o-show" but most people understand me better when I just say Tamiya [] []
  17. Maybe they start making off-road buggies again? []
  18. Thanks for the info, should have known that (being a mechanical engineer). It is a TL01. In my early years I had a BigWig where you could adjust the steering yourself. I remember the car being hard to steer sometimes, and now I know why! But still, it seems to be that it is a verry large angle. Maybe if I shorten the ring between servo and steering rod it will help..
  19. Hi all, I'm gonna ask the most stupid question of all times.. look at the attached picture. Are those front wheels supposed to allign like this? i can't move the servo so what would be a good sollution to straighten this out? http://www.tamiyaclub.com/getuserimage.asp...200470500_2.jpg
  20. It was also a surprise to me when I got back into RC to see that there were a lot of RTR's in the store. More surprised I was by the fact that Tamiya also started with RTR and had no "fun" cars like the Frog, Hotshot, Falcon, Fox, etc.. When I was a kid (early '80s) I could sit around in our local hobbyshop and open all boxes to see how many parts there where and all differences between the cars. That was the fun of building a car!! The gearboxes where more complex, the suspension more daring, the chassis differt... When the porsche 959 came out, every one of my RC friends wanted one, just because of the nice oil filled shocks!~Also the 3 dif Celica was apealing... Sorry to say, but Tamiya has no imagination anymore.....
  21. quote:Originally posted by spammyi have a baja champ with a tlo1 chassis and im think it will as the spoiler mount posty thingys are on the front as well if not they could be altared id="quote">id="quote">Okay, what are you saying?? I can mount a driver in a TL01?? Got a MSC fitted so there is room enough.
  22. MArtin, Thanks (bedankt)! PK racing has nothing but hopefully the others have. Quartel, didn't know that one...
  23. Thanks. I'm using a 3 speed at the moment but thinking about buying an ESC. My receiver is small so that won't be a problem. I need these parts in a few weeks. I was looking on the internet but couldn't find a decent site where I can buy these drivers. Does anyone know?? Espascily in the Netherlands??
  24. Thanks, but do they fit in the TL01 cars? that's my main issue. Still, thanks for the response, I'll place a wanted on the partslist..
  25. Hi All, See my former topic regarding the Peugeot 406 body.. I'm making a new body just for the fun of it with some headlights, special paint, nice details etc.. but, does anyone know if there are drivers available for the TL01? I'm not sure if the will fit into the body and on the chassis of the car? If they are available, where can I get it? Thnx Maurits
