  1. Thank you for the advise but my main question is; Would this damage the bearing or axle and has anyone done this already?
  2. Hi all, On my TL-01 I have ±1.5mm axial play between the lock nut (with pin) and the bearing. This causes the wheels to move axial. Do any of you guys have a sollution for this? I was thinking obout washer between the lock nut and the bearing but I'm not sure if this is wise.. Maurits
  3. Hi all, Who can help me on finding blue alloy parts (suspension arms) for my TL01? Searched most sites and ebay but can't find none. Thanks Maurits
  4. I don't own a twin det.. Read this thread, it recomends a Mtroniks: http://tamiyaclub.com/CS/forums/thread/171117.aspx
  5. An ESC for twin motors will be more expensive I think. I myself use a Nosram ESC and I'm happy with it. http://www.nosram.com/products.asp?id=52 This is for a single motor so I don't know if they have them for twin motors. I think you'll need a low turn ESC since two motors drain more power. Look at their website: www.nosram.com for more information.
  6. Yes. Don't even have the strength to go to the hobbyshop [] But still, sitting here with a hot coco with some stronger stuff in it makes me feel a litlle bit better. Good luck with your lathe. Thinking about buying myself one in the future..
  7. Already at work Stefan?? (sitting home with a terrible cold....)
  8. I already spent a thread on making headlights last year, but I never came to it to design the lights. My mother in law made me re-think this issue, last time she was here. When I want to make the headlights in my Peugeot 406 http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...730&id=5798 I want them to look good. I've seen the headlights in my LHS but it does not do the trick I want. I have left the entire headlight blank without paint and I want to make a real lighthead set to put behind the body. I was thinking of using clay to make the form (in my other 406 body) by pressing it into place. When the clay is hard, I want to wrap it with glassfibre and make the housing for the frontlight. Has anyone experience with this??
  9. Be carefull with alloys. If you accidently take Nickel-Alloys, this will be a pain in the famous .... to work with. Same as titanium, tntall, and other alloys!!
  10. I only needed to operate the lathe, not to make the tool bits!?
  11. Hi Stefan, It is about 12 years ago when I touched a lathe for the last time. You want to make curves on an object? What I rememeber is that you can do that in 2 ways. 1. With a chissel shaped as a small curve 2. For large radius you need an 'adapter' which you have to place on the lathe. But, read the article mentioned before.
  12. What you can also try is artificial grass. I had a balkony where I put this stuff on. It is sort of carpet but it lets water through.
  13. Do you mean the 'eyes' where you put the screws in? I do not know the English word for it. Seems the easiest thing to do is to order new shocks from somewhere. Otherwise, post a picture so people can see what you are missing.
  14. This is the original one so I think they are all in. But thanks, will see how it goes. Have a video camera with me and will post a video next week!
  15. BigWig is fully ballraced (standard, ain't it??). Thanks, I'll take the 17Turn with me and see what it will do. On the beacht I'm going for the 23Single since the 17Turn is an 'Open' motor (see one of my former posts) and can't handle sand that good
  16. Hi all, Me and my family are going away to the beach a few days. I was thinking to bring my old BigWig with me since that is the only off road I have. I was wodnering if my 17Turn Single would do any well in that old thing. The Technigold is sold and now I have a Corraly 23 Turn in it. It goes like badword but I'm not sure if the 17Turn would dammage the gears.. Maurits
  17. I don't even believe he's 13.. Look at his first post, is that an opinion from a 13 year old kid? Admin's???
  18. Well, this is certainly a fabrication error What you can try is clean it with alcohol and try locktight to put the parts together.
  19. Let's make myself clear. I do not think Tamiya is a scam, I think our distributors are!
  20. I did not want to get involved in this discussion anymore, due to the 'tone' of some people, but I have a nice example of price differences. I just bought some hopups for my TL01 on ebay (RcBoyz). If I purchase these parts in The Netherlands I would pay MORE than double. Total costs in USA ±EUR 60,--. The Netherlands EUR 124,--. Okay, I have to pay EUR 10,- for delivery but it is still a HUGE price difference.. On the quality of Tamiya, no comments. It is excelent (apart from some older moddels like BigWig bumper ) and no doubt most spares!!
  21. Update: It seems that in our company we have a winding department with a enormous selection of copper winding. They can even wind these litlle rotors!!
  22. Hi all, Here is the result of the tiny rocks in my motor.... **** nice.... Maurits
