If the servos have blue plugs on them then ignore this reply, but if it has a black plug it could be connected the wrongly. The problem is that until recently Sanwa (for some unknown reason) wire their leads up differently to everyone else. Most connectors have the positive lead in the middle and negative lead nearest the edge of the case. Sanwa has the negative lead in the middle and the positive lead nearest the edge.

To get it to work you need to swap over the red and black leads in the plug on the esc. Usually there is a small tab of metal holding the socket in the plug, and this needs pushing in to let you pull the socket out of the plastic plug and swap the leads.

It might still not work as you have accidentally connected the receiver and servo the wrong way round. If you swap the leads on esc plug and plug it in it might still not work as you could have damaged the receiver or the power supply in the esc. Unfortunately the only way to properly check is to plug in a 4AA battery box to make sure the receiver and servo still work.

    Doohhhh!!!!!![V]

Many thaks Terry......i think you got it spot on,as the Sanwa plug is black with the negative lead in the middle and positive near the edge [:(]

Will give it a go asap to see if i haven't broke anything but i think so....damm Sanwa!!![:(!]

    Cheers.

  3. Many thanks for the fast reply!!!

I've just looked to the wires and the plug of the original sanwa throttle servo has, from left to right, this wire colors:

    red-black-black

The plug of the futaba ESC are as follows:

    black-red-white

I've tried all ways of plugins but in all positions makes the same thing.....anything!!![:(]

Think it could be something aobut that wire colour matches???

  4. Hi there!!!

Well, this is my first post here....i'm loving this site!!!!deffo the best Tamiya resource out there, makes you want more and more Tamiya's!!!!

I'm form San Sebastian,Spain, and i own,for now,a Tamiya Impreza TB01 rally car which i'm trying to improve. It's now fully ball raced and got an aluminium motor mount along with a Tamiya Super Stock type RZ motor to go on.

I've also bought a Futaba mc330 ESC and this is where i'm having problems.....i bought it in internet and,the fact that i'm pretty new to R/C cars,i don't have a clue if i'm doing something wrong or the ESC is broken.

Problem is that i can't set up the ESC,i've connected all the wires correctly i think, one to the batterys, the other two to the motor and the last one to my Sanwa receiver (this receiver has 3 'slots',one for the steering, another one for the throttle and the last one that seems that it's not for any use using the ESC??).

So with all connected,as instructions says!,i turn on the ESC an the led starts to blink constantly and beeping too.....i have not ANY control of the steering or of the throttle and suddenly it stats to accelerate alone???

No matter what i do i can't mod or set up anything....please HELP!!!!!

    Many thanks in avance,best regards!
