  1. The guy is not in Tune with his Inner R/C, he keeps telling me that they're just sitting there waiting for me to buy them collecting dust Darn Economic Recession and High gas prices.... Wait fathers' day is just around the corner....
  2. A co-worker of mine, is selling an original Midnight Pumpkin and An original Wild Willy for $100 with radios, servos, batteries, chargers. He has them sitting in his garage for more than 10 years, Not sure if the electronics work. I've seen alot of these on ebay, my question is, would it be worth paying $100 for both?? BTW, they're in good condition.
  3. So, how close are Wild Willy's wheels to 1.9 diameter, would you be able to fit 1.9 tires on them?? They would be another nice wheel option for scale builds.
  4. My first R/C Christmas came as a replacement for a German Sheppard that I wanted as a gift in 1988, my uncle asked me whether I wanted the dog or a Sears R/C Lamborghini, off course I chose the Lambo, and my mind was set on getting that car for Xmas, soon after that, he came home and threw a couple of R/C car action magazines on the dinning room table and told me to choose the R/C car that i wanted. Now that I think about it, it was awesome to go through the mag and trying to choose the biggest, baddest truck there was, my first choice was the Kyosho Big Brute, which was advertised in a photo, with a girl holding the truck by a leash, it was AWESOME!!!, my uncle called, but they didnt have it in stock. So I went with the Tamiya Blackfoot. I sat outside waiting on the Brown Truck that said "UPS" on the side, I even had it written on the dirt at my grandpa's unfinished house. When It arrived, I ran through out the whole house screaming "it's here" went to get the package with my uncle and carried it myself all the way back to the house. The only bummer, is that I had to wait 3 days for my father to build it, and he didn't even paint it, just stickered it and out I went. Ever since then, I've gotten R/C related stuff almost every Xmas, as NIB kits, I got the MRC MT-10M and the Tamiya Super Hornet.
  5. The best thing is the bad acting while driving, you see the kids jumping around and looking all over the place, it's awesome to watch now, that I've had a couple of races under my belt, you kind of sway with the motion of the car's turn, any sudden movement or taking your eyes off the track could mean disaster in a split second. I also like the close-up of the cars while on the track, and the commentator calling the cars by their actual names, still till this day it brings a to my face.
  6. I don't know if this has been posted before or not, but growing up, I was always a big Punky Brewster fan (1980s show sitcom), In one of the episodes Punky won a NIB Tamiya Frog from a raffle bowl, she built it, and raced it at a local track against a Hornet, Super Champ, FAV, Brat and a Pajero, they featured two races, once right after she builds her Frog and the Final Race when she races and beats the boys, hence the name of the episode "Girls will be Boys". Having just gotten into the Hobby with a Tamiya Blackfoot, off course, this was my favorite episode ever, just because it had R/Cs in it, when the Frog Re-re came out, it took me back to when I first saw that episode, and made me want to see it again, Got it from Netflix, and all my childhood memories came back, Awesome Episode and Awesome cars, they also show on the pit area, A Hot Shot and A Wild Willy. CHeck it out, Punky Brewster, Season Two, Episode called "Girls will be boys".
  7. I did some research and found this out: Novak Velociti brush less motor -- 1.41" diameter/35.8mm & 52.8mm long Tamiya 540 sized motor (silver can) -- 1 7/16" diameter/36.5mm & 57.2 Long The question here is, are the silver can motors that come on today's kits, the same that came on the SRB?? the SRB came with the rs540 motors. So in theory the brushless would fit without any mods, other than just not using the dust cover, right?? If that's the case, I would either get the 10.5 (19t) or the 13.5(27t) novak brushless set up The reason I'm enquiring about brushless motors, it's mainly durability factor, I should've been a bit more specific about what type of brushless motor I was referring to. I currently own a gtb 5.5 system on a rc10t3, and it's crazy fast, and even with a modern truck like the t3, it's a handful to handle. So I wouldn't dream of installing something that crazy on such a rare and sometimes fragile car, but like stated above, I want a lil bit more power than what the 540 offers and for a longer time, and the 540's durability doesn't compare to that of the brushless. Just my humble opinion. But keep the suggestions coming, I need to make sure that the motor will fit without having to hack or dremel away the gearbox's motor plate. Thank you.
  8. Thank you I will probably just consider doing a brushed 19t on my Scorcher, I don't want to break any of the stock bits.
  9. I have a Sand Scorcher project going on, and i was wondering if a brushless motor is too much for a srb tranny?? or is the SRB tranny tough enough to withstand a brush less set up?? another question, would a brushless motor even fit into the motor mount on a SRB?? thanks, any help would be appreciated....
